I went to Istanbul with an organized group so there was no much choice of the hotel I was staying. My expectations were low before the trip as the price of the stay was very cheap. Still, it was worse than what I had expected.||First, we checked-in a bit late - 6 p.m. as my boyfriend and I went sightseeing in the town. However, when we came to hotel to demand our room, the reception guy informed us that we were lucky to have a room at all because our guide had told him that everyone from the group had already checked in. We were given an attic room with a sloping ceiling that we bumped into whenever we walked around the room. The room itself was very small and rather dirty. The bathroom was almost completely dark as one of the lights was not working and the other one was not working properly. ||The personnel on the reception barely spoke English. Because of that, we had to explain our problems to them through our guide who spoke Turkish or through putting down number of the room, streets, etc. However, as most Turkish people, they made us feel we were special, as if celebrities with their attitude.||The breakfast was ok, not diverse or pompous but you can call it a nice breakfast. It was the same choice every day. ||The summoning from the mosque nearby at 5 am was a bit disturbing our comfortable sleep but this is a normal thing to expect when in Istanbul or any Muslim part of the world.||The location of the hotel was perfect. It was in the historical city centre near the Laleli University, the Grand Bazaar, Hagia Sophia and the...
Read moreWe were staying in Beyaz Kugu hotel, me and my friends, we knew it's a three stars hotel, but we couldn't believe our eyes when we saw that dirty windows...we even couldn't look outside. The room was also not very clean, but the towels from bathroom were really white and good smelling. And the bathroom was ok too. The breakfast was poor, but we couldn't expect too much anyway. And it was not very cheap as we expected. The location was perfect, near major touristic attractions. The other guests from hotel were very bizarre, we started to be afraid, but finally nothing happened. The stuff from hotel acted also strange, the telephone from room rang often, but they didn't speak, maybe they wanted to check if we are in room, and this because we were girls. I also had the impression that they survey us with cameras which i could see to every floor. We decided that it was a very strange hotel and we will not come back. The last day to hotel was good because they helped us with the taxi and they wake up us in the mornig for catching the plane, but they didn't speak too much english, just turkish, we decided that they could be also...
