Biz Cevahir Hotel Sultanahmet — Hotel in Fatih

The experience was good overall. However, there are a few comments l'd make on some components that the hotel fell short on.

Service. The service was good but shallow. The bare minimum was provided, salutations (the usual "good mornings" and "good evenings" upon entering) and overall etiquette. Nonetheless, the service provided by the concierge called Jafar felt extractive. He upsold us the Orient Bosphorus boat dinner for our Christmas Eve dinner which was a one star experience.

On top of that, he asked us if we wanted to buy ceramics from the store across the street (The Tree of Life) which was a store that I organically found since the store associate came from the same country as me. Upon hearing us having made a purchase there, he asked how much we spent —a clear implication that he was gonna collect commission despite having not referred us to the place.

Room quality. The rooms were hot with centralized heatina that could not be controlled We informed the front desk about this matter but nothing was done about it.

I don't want to berate the hotel too much. After all, 3 stars is more than 1. So there are some positive aspects worth noting.

Location. Fantastic location being in Sultan Ahmet and within walking distance of the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and the Grand Bazaar.

Consistency. The overall experience from breakfast and house keeping was great. Credits to the kitchen staff and the one older house keeping gentleman who maintained our rooms well during the length of our stay.

The overall recommendation would be that it's a good hotel and I'd recommend staying there. Guests would need to be vigilant about their holiday activities -perhaps planning some arrangements before arriving. Also, to do their own scouting and to not depend on the...

The hotel was nice and close to every highlights & nice breakfast. There was a bad guy who was sitting around the hotel everyday, i thought that he was one of the stuff but later figured out that he was not a stuff. (brown hair & blue eyes the  spelling might be wrong I think his name was Mohamod) . I thought he was friend of the hotel stuffs because he was sitting and talking with them everyday  , he told me that he was working at the convenience,sunglasses store next hotel. He talked me and took me to some shops for shopping (after I saw same thing for much cheaper than the shop he tok me , i realized that he was kind of a bad guy and selling things more expensive. He cheated me about high prices). Every time I went out from hotel and come back to hotel he was there all the time oh God I felt very uncomfortable.  I usually don't comment or do  reviews anywhere . I am writing this for other people who won’t have same experience & this time I had to do  because of that bad guy my holiday wasn't nice. I am writing this because this case must be under responsibility of hotel. If that guy wasn't sitting there and talking to the hotel's stuff all the time I wouldn't talk to him, this bad experience wouldn't happen to me anyway hoping that the owner/manager of hotel will see this and keep that guy away from such a nice hotel . There really isn’t anything good to say about this hotel except one of the two staff members I dealt with was helpful.

The night staffer, was extremely rude and unapologetic. We ordered shuttle service from the airport to the hotel and after waiting 1-2hrs, we went with a taxi. When we arrived at the hotel, we were yelled at for not taking the ordered shuttle. Which was not there for us. The staffer didn’t want to hear our side so we just wanted our keys to head to bed. The next morning a new staffer was more helpful and asked for more details about the situation but ultimately was saying they’d be charged for the shuttle service that wasn’t there to pick us up.

Other than that fiasco, the rooms and beds were extremely dirty. There was hair everywhere, including in between the sheets and on the pillows. We had trouble sleeping in this hotel and felt like we itched everywhere we laid or sat down. Every towel we had stains on them.

This hotel says it’s 4-stars but other than the stone elements, this place deserves a 1 or 2 star rating.
