What was really amazing was the view, a splendid panorama of the Bosphorus. You have the Anatolian side of Istanbul, mainly Üsküdar and Kadiköy directly across the strait and I must say that at night..it's mesmerizing with Çamlıca Tower and Florence Nightingale Museum lighting up the view.

The location of the hotel could hardly be any better: it sits 7 minutes from Sultanahmet square (going uphill a bit) where you have the tram (T1 route) and 4-5 minutes (going downhill) from Cankurtaran Marmaray station (T6 route).

The Deluxe Room with Panoramic Sea View is spacious, has pretty much anything you would need, but there are a few flaws I'll describe below.

One is the shower, which we found problematic to use because of the low water pressure. It has plenty of flow, but the pressure is not sufficient, so even if they were kind and tried to make it better it might simply be a problem with the pressure in the area. As a workaround, if you have the same issue when staying there, simply unscrew the little shower head and use the hose as you would in a garden to sprinkle water over the flowers 😉

The second drawback for us were the beds, a bit too firm and thus not really comfortable (at least compared to other stays we had in Istanbul).

For guests interested in watching TV programs, that won't happen with the curent setup as there are no cable/digital channels. This was no real issue for us though as we were ok with using just the Smart TV features (they work great, by the way).

The breakfast is included in the price and this is great because it's diverse, plenty of options, including delicious desserts and fruits, tea, coffee, juices, cereal and many more.

A big thank you to the nice people working there, from the front office to the kitchen everyone involved gives an extra touch of home to the accomodation, always ready to help and taking care of everything you need. Daily room cleaning and refill of water supplies for all the guests in the room are a plus here, so well done again to the Cape Palace Hotel team.

The communication was great, they were very responsive even before we started the trip there and solved the transportation from the airport as we had a flight landing close to midnight.

To conclude, this is a real gem in terms of location and view, good value for money and a most kind and welcoming team working there. It's well worth giving it a try, chances are you'll love it and come back when visiting the...

The place overall was good but the partner with some cheeky people.

I didn't like the fact that the asked for a taxi to go from the hotel to the airport and apparently they have an arrangement with the taxi driver which charges you extra for paying by card (which is fair). I double checked with him before getting into the taxi and he said it was 1400. The driver told me that he has an arrangement with the hotel.

First he tried to convince me that my flight was cancelled like other flights due to bad weather ( not single cloud).

He used google translator while driving to tell me so, twice telling me that I shouldn't be dumb and let him drive me to Cappadocia. I told him no.

Then once we got to the airport, he start telling me that he has to charge me extra 250 due to crossing the bridge, then he told me that he wanted to give me a discount, and I refused.

Then started telling me that due to the card payment he will add a fee on top of it (another one) and trying to increase the price.

After arguing again, he tried to type a higher price in the machine without showing, and I asked him to repeat the transaction and indeed was lower.

All while he was smoking inside the car, putting loud music at 4:30 AM and not having the seatbelt...

Mr Eyyup owner & sister are so sweet & warm, the real genuine Turkish delight 😁. The 1st day I arrived from my other hotel at 8am, he let me check in early despite usual check in is 2pm! He even invited me to have breakfast!

Hotel is new (2 yrs old & is his converted family home when he was born 😀!)

Location: short walk from all the main attractions yet a quieter street tucked away with a few good restaurants. I like the quieter area & it was perfect!

Room: very new, clean, neat with everything you need, slippers, hair dryer, toiletries! Very comfy bed, new Aircon/heater, mini fridge, bottledwater, kettle & coffee tea. Very thoughtful. Even upgraded me to a double bed when i stayed a 2nd visit.

Breakfast: Very good spread of fresh veg, fruits, mediterreanean style, cheeses, salami, ham, cereal, toast, bread, local pastry, fresh orange juice, coffee and tea. More than sufficient and love the view of the garden.

Khalid & Anis were very nice and warm and helpful and please take their svc to book airport car. (I forgot 1 trip and paid double the amount). Trust them and their genuine warmth kind service. They even kept 1 of my luggage there whilst I went to Izmir (Foça)

I will definitely come...

We stayed in a Superior Double Room (3rd floor), which cost €269.79 on Booking.com for four nights (approximately €67 per night) with Genius 3 discount. Pros: - Excellent location—hard to beat for the price in this area. - Situated on a very quiet street. - Room was cleaned daily, and bottles of water were provided. - Equipped with heating, AC, and a wardrobe with hangers. Cons: - The bed was extremely firm. We generally like firm beds, but this felt like sleeping on the floor with just a blanket. A hybrid mattress (firm with a pillow top) would have been more comfortable. - Poor sound insulation—you can hear everything from the neighboring rooms. When showering, we could even hear people from the adjacent room through the ventilation system. - Breakfast was very basic, though reasonable given the price of the accommodation. The staff was kind.
