Recommended. Pro and cons staying at Endican Sultanahmet Hotel
Pro:
Newly refurbished rooms. Nice clean modern toilet. Has an elevator. Very near the tram station. Approx 40 meters only. Near to a supermarket. 20 meters. Walking distance to main tourist hotspots. Friendly, helpful and motivated staffs. Daily housekeeping. Has a security safe in the room. Less noisy/busy neighborhood. Several local restaurants nearby. Hotel provides house slippers. Has complimentary coffee and tea in the room. Near to money changer with better rates. Comfortable bed and pillows. Can arrange for airport transfer. Sells sim cards for tourist.
Cons:
Located in a touristic area. Price of food and souvenirs 30-40% more expensive. Small elevator. Can fit max 4 pax. No concierge service. Unfriendly to those with special needs. Rooms a bit small. Especially the standard rooms. No breakfast provided. Albiet near to tourist hotspots (approx 900 meters), walking can be tiring. Especially for elders and small children. Uphill walk (approx 10% slope) back to the hotel. No toothpaste provided in the rooms. Blanket a bit thin. No special view. Just view of surrounding buildings.

Staff named Seraffetin was helpful. He gave us good advice on where to change the money and places to visit. He even lent us the scale to weigh our luggage.
Since we checked out early, he voluntarily called the manager to ask whether refund was possible. Thank you Serafettin.
The two housekeeping ladies were helpful too and always attentive to our needs.
Was told that the hotel was newly refurbished about 6 months ago. But, limited only 23 rooms. They have 2 economy rooms in the basement (without view).
Most of the staffs are friendly, speak basic English...
Read moreWe (parents plus young and older children) stayed 6 nights. We took three rooms, one of them with three beds. The three-beds room was in the ground floow with a window that is facing a wall. The two other rooms were in the first floor facing the front street which is a small busy street. No real complains regarding the rooms. As expected in Istanbul, rooms are small. But the room was clean, well furnished and with a cattle forbtea/coffee making. Every day free bottles of water are put in the room which was nice.the toilet was good and shower with very good water pressure and temperature.
The entrance if the hotel is small and you need to know it in irder to notice it. The reception staff are very polite and friendly. No breakfast or restaurant in this small hotel. But just nearby the hotel there are two turkush restaurants snd one Indian restaurant. Also there are three grocery stores very close to the hotel. I see the location of the hotel to be very good. It is in "akfatih" area, near lical markets and shopping areas, near a metro station (may be 200 meters), near Resturants, coffee shop, and grocery stores. They could reduce the price though.
I need to note a couple of things. The rooms faving the street are good in terms that there is something yo see and not a wll.. But noises from the street can be disturbing. The street in front of the hitel is a one way street with no much parking slots, so drivers picking up people cannot stop for a long time. It happened once during our stay that someone tried to open our room at night. The reception apologized for that later and said that it was by mistake. He kept apologizing to the date we left the hotel. Itbis better to lock the room when you are inside.
Generally, I find the hotel to be very good. It will be in my list when I visit...

Bad first impression with customer service. A manager named Emrah as I remember has a low customer service skill. We booked a hotel room through Agoda website. When we arrived at the hotel, the manager told us, our room would be in basement which isn’t described on the website. He carelessly said the hotel doesn’t work with Agoda.
With his attitude he didn’t show any understanding and effort to help. We contacted Agoda who was willing to help from their part. But the hotel manager, Emrah, didn’t purpose above and beyond help from his side.
If you were in my situation, you would feel like being scammed and forced to pay more when we arrived at the front desk. We were willing to pay for upgrade easily if we weren’t being treated poorly by this manager, Emrah at the first place.
On the hand, another staff, Ali seems to know about customer service at handling the situation. He showed his understanding and spoke with us without any attitude.
A room we upgraded ourselves to was clean but the ambience isn’t good for light sleepers. There is loud noise and light from outside getting into your room.
Bathroom was still small even for Asian person.
Blanket was small even I’m 159cm my feet sticking out. Of course we got cold during the sleep.
Some people might not understand my situation. It’s ok. I work in the hospitality so i can tell what is...
