We stayed in the Aza Cave hotel for 2 nights. The room was big and spacious but had a few missing features that would have helped. The bathroom smelt really bad (not because of us). Staff were for the most part friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a good selection, good quality, but coffee was very small. Great that you can use the terrace of the sister hotel on the mornings to watch the balloons as it has a great view. Good location with good restaurants near by. So we arrived at 5am and had informed the hotel as such who said they would try arrange a room as soon as possible. We'd be on a night bus for 7 hours so we were tired, it had rained on the walk to the hotel and were followed by 10 stray dogs, so we were pretty exhausted, we stumbled into the reception and just said we are very early to be told be a sleepy member of staff, check in is at 2. Didn't take our name or anything. We said we were aware but could we wait here since it was 5am. They said that's fine. We waited for a while and paid to have breakfast which was expensive. We went to watch the balloons from the sister hotel, we had breakfast and return the reception. We were checked in just before 12 which was great. I think the day staff are a bit more attentive than the night staff. Breakfast was good, they had a good selection and offered eggs cooked to order. The only issue I really had was the coffee was tiny, tasty but tiny. There was no limits to how many you could have but it was just a bit awkward having to ask to get a coffee each time. The room had lots of facilities and amenities, free cans of coke and Fanta and coffee and tea making facilities. They even brought some fruit and nuts which was nice but we'd informed them my partner was allergic to nuts and they were knocking on the door for a long time when we were trying to sleep during the day. No do not disturb signs. There weren't any bed side tables which isn't a massive deal but would be handy to put a phone on. The walls of the room, although they look substantial are pretty thin, thankfully unless you have noisy neighbours you won't notice much but we heard complaints about this from other guests. We visited the pool one morning but didn't really use it as the beds were soaking wet, probably from the rain, but also the pigeons (of pigeon Valley which is pretty close by) used the pool for drinking and bathing. Not a huge deal as we didn't use it but just a bit of putting, but hey, that's...
Read moreAmazing hotel. This hotel is located on the hill in a quiet street away from all the noise and dust. Hotel has 2 sections which are divided by the main road. Our room was a standard room at the connecting building and it was a cave room. It felt small with 2 big luggages but was managable. Room was spotless clean and bathroom was big. Bed was very comfortable and the design of the room is very authentic. Hotel does not have lifts but has lots of steps therefore not suitable for people with limited movements. Hotel's grounds are amazing and the exterior desing is just stunning for antique or history lovers. They have furniture and decorations that are very old antique everywhere including rooms. Hotel garden is beautiful and surrounded by lavender and some other flowers which attracts lots of bee and wasp. If you have allergies to these then you won't feel comfortable staying here because wasp comes to your table while dining or drinking. No mosquitos! The pool is small but pleasant to cool down and chill. Hotel is located at a great location with amazing view of the valley and makes you feel relaxed. I found breakfast to be basic in my experience but lunch food was delicious. The food and alcohol prices were similar to London-UK prices but it is quite normal in Goreme because everything is more expensive than it should be and it is difficult to find tasty food in town centre. As a turkish people we didn't like town food and had bad stomach. We would definitely eat at the restaurant if we were not travelling with friends. Hotel staff were absolutely wonderful. They were very attentive for any of our needs and always had a smile. Dilber had been amazing and the staff at the restaurant. Overall we and our guests enjoyed our stay at here and we definitely would come back to stay here again in the future. Definitely...
Read moreGreat location and property!
Hospitality: Friendly and courteous staff. Always available to help 24/7 within the property and with tours/taxi services outside. You can communicate on whatsapp. Staff speak english well.
Location and view: Short downhill walk into the main town ( approx 10-15 mins). Has a view of a valley, but its sister property (Sultan Cave Suites) on the other side of road around 100-200 mts away has a great view of the Goreme city, which is especially stunning during sunrise with balloons and at night with the lights.
Hotel and rooms: Beautiful landscape especially around the open pool area. I stayed in their king suite on the ground floor, which was very spacious, had a huge bathroom with a stand-in shower and a tub, and a balcony with a view of the pool. I received a free upgrade and a bottle of wine (thanks to Expedia platinum membership and this being a VIP hotel).
Food/restaurants: There is one Sushi restaurant on site, which was supposed to be good, but we didn't try it. Breakfast is provided in the same place, which is fresh and tasty. Mostly has vegetarian options for breakfast, but it's plenty. There are few restaurants within 2-5 minute walking distance and many more in the town.
Spa: Located in Sultan Cave hotel. Price was decent (cheaper compared to Istanbul hotels) and the overall experience was good. Hammam experience is good, but can be avoided and you won't be missing out!
Shuttle: Private shuttle is available to Kayseri airport for 90 euros and 80 for Nevsehir(per vehicle, upto 6 pax). Public shuttle is around 10 euros per person. If you are looking for a private shuttle, I suggest booking a local taxi, which charges around 50-60 euros or less based on your...
