Was so happy to find such a huge choice of authentic, vegan Turkish dishes and didn't even hesitate to pay more for such a nice place. However I was deeply disappointed by our visit. It started with all other tables getting a choice of sauces which we haven't been offered. The starter came only when we already finished the rest of our food - it was different from the menu and we were told that the menu was wrong. The waiter offered us an additional starter as an compensation, which was cold though when it arrived. The food itself was okay, but not worth the money (780 Lira for a vegan kebab accompanied by half a tomato and half a pepper - I guess this is what the sauces everyone else has been offered are for). We've got asked if everything was fine twice and answered that question twice with a clear no - both times, the waiter just walked away. Unfortunately I'm not able to say if this was because of ignorance or because of the language barrier, but I guess the expression of my face spoke louder than words... The restaurant charges a couvert of 145 Lira per Person for unlimited bread, water, coffee and tea - I would expect bread and water being refilled without us asking for it once it is empty, which wasn't the case. I'd totally condone that, if everything else was fine, but since this wasn't the case, this is just another disappointment adding up to this evening. After a long discussion with the manager, which is usually not my style, we got offered a small discount, but still payed way too much for...
Read moreMarch 19, 2025 We were part of a group tour. We had lunch at this restaurant. I want to give this review so that it doesn't bother other diners and as a warning to other tourists. Don't pay in cash euros.
My total bill was 1,250 lira but I paid in cash 50 euros because he said it was okay. Most of the time I spend I always convert my bill or what I buy, and my conversion is always correct and because I use my atm card more often and I have my bank's app and I can see how much I have deducted and always tally.
So I converted on my calculator and he also started converting my bill on his (one of the staff) calculator and explained. It came to 39 on his calculator. While mine only came to 30 to 31 euros we didn't tally so I asked if there was a charge or penalty if I paid in euros because I would just use my atm card instead of euro cash. but he said there was no charge and it was the same as with card payment he still insisted on his own conversion. and he gave my change in lira cash. I wanted to complain but my companions told me to just leave it as they didn't want our table to be the center of attraction. but for me something was really wrong. I don't know if he took his...
Read moreIf you’re in Cappadocia and looking for a spot with authentic Turkish flavours and stunning views, Köşebaşı Kapadokya is a must-visit! This was where I had my very first authentic Turkish kebab and pide — and it completely lived up to the hype.
The food here is absolutely delicious. Every bite was packed with flavour, fresh ingredients, and that unmistakable warmth of home-style Turkish cooking. The kebab was perfectly grilled, juicy, and tender, while the pide was crispy on the edges and generously topped — easily one of my favourites from the trip.
The atmosphere adds even more to the experience. With a lovely view overlooking the unique Cappadocian landscape, it’s the kind of place where you want to linger a little longer, soak it all in, and maybe order just one more thing from the menu.
The staff were friendly and incredibly helpful — happy to explain dishes and offer recommendations for first-timers. Their hospitality added a really personal touch to the meal.
Whether you’re looking for your first taste of Turkish cuisine or simply want a great meal with a view, Köşebaşı Kapadokya is well worth the visit. I’d go back in...
