Worst experience in goreme. What is written in the menu is different from what they bring you they change the main ingredients without informing you beforehand. This is very dangerous for people with food intolerance or alimentary allergies. The food is also dull or overcooked, and the prices are one of the highest in all goreme. I paid almost 20 dollars for a burn shish kebab, which would have cost you 3 dollars everywhere else.
But even worse is the staff, which treats customer/tourist with 0 respect. The waiter kept touching my shoulder and back without consent, he kept clapping and shouting loud everytime he came by. Which made us feel like we were a joke for him and made the atmosphere a sort of canteen, not relaxing at all.
Furthermore, he served us a bottle of water already open (which we did not request) and they charged it anyway.
Finally on the bill we found out they have charged us 8 dollars of service fee with suprise we asked clarification since it is not written anywhere. After standing our point, asking where that was written, they decided to remove it.
Please make yourself a favor and go to other places (ask your hotel manager where to go) and if you go do not pay the service fee if it is not...
Read moreWe came on a busy night, but they managed to give us a nice table inside with a nice view. Then everything went downhill from there. Ordered the mixed mezze platter and the pottery kebab. The mezze was alright but when the pottery kebab came, it was cold, like fridge cold. We told the waiter and he insisted it’s hot. Why argue with me when I just tasted it? So he took it away, thinking they’ll either reheat it or give us a new one. Over 30 minutes later, we’ve ate every bit of our mezze platter, but our pottery kebab still hasn’t returned. We’ve seen at least 5-6 potteries passed by us that went to other tables. Tired of waiting, we asked for the bill and left. And of course they didn’t take the pottery kebab off our bill, so we had to ask. The next day, we went to a small local place to try the pottery kebab, and it came piping hot. The sauce was still boiling when the cover was cracked open! So that tells me the one we got at Happena was definitely undercooked. Also had a stomach flu the next morning, won’t know for sure if it’s from this restaurant, but wouldn’t...
