Such an unforgettable and lovely stay at the Cappadocia Cave Lodge!
The experience felt very homey and personal right from the moment we arrived. We were warmly welcomed by Ahmet, who offered us some comforting tea, and his son thoughtfully assisted us with our luggage.
Our room was cozy and delightfully non-conventional, truly feeling like staying in a cave which added immensely to the unique charm. It was well-equipped with a comfortable bed, good pillows and linens that ensured a restful night’s sleep, along with a fridge, television, wardrobe, and both air-conditioning and heating for our comfort. We also appreciated the nice ceiling lights that could serve as a gentle night light. Tea and coffee were readily available in the room, and the complimentary liter of water was a thoughtful and welcome touch. The bathroom was clean and surprisingly spacious, boasting great water pressure and consistently hot water. A full set of quality toiletries was provided, including shampoo, conditioner, body wash, bar soap, lotion, and a convenient hair dryer.
With only 9 rooms, the hotel felt wonderfully quiet and never crowded, allowing for a truly peaceful retreat.
Breakfast was satisfying, offering enough variety considering the very reasonable room rate.
The hotel's location on a slightly higher point in town meant a short uphill walk upon returning, but the elevated views were undeniably worth it. It's also conveniently located just a short and pleasant walk away from the town center, making it easy to explore the local shops, restaurants, and attractions.
One of the absolute highlights of our stay was the breathtaking view from the terrace and rooftop — absolutely stunning! The rooftop setup, complete with comfortable pillows and traditional carpets, was perfect for unwinding and capturing memorable photos. In the morning, we were treated to a panoramic vista of Göreme and the magical sight of hot air balloons gracefully floating across the sky.
Another incredibly lovely touch was their adorable and friendly dog, Geçe (which means "night" in Turkish), who was such a delight to have around. We truly enjoyed her sweet company throughout our stay.
Adding to their exceptional hospitality, they also graciously allowed us to use their microwave to heat up our takeaway food, which we enjoyed on the terrace while soaking in the incredible view. Furthermore, on a rainy day, they were kind enough to lend us one of their umbrellas, which was so thoughtful.
A big thank you to Ahmet, his son, and the entire dedicated team. A special shoutout to the night manager (we didn’t catch his name) but we truly appreciated his warm and genuine hospitality. He welcomed us back one evening with a comforting offer of tea and biscuits, shared a wonderful conversation about the beauty and history of Cappadocia and Türkiye, and even went above and beyond by serving tea to the guests the next morning during the early balloon flights.
We wholeheartedly and highly recommend Cappadocia Cave Lodge for a truly scenic, intimate, and heartfelt stay in the captivating...
Read moreI spent four nights at this wonderful accommodation, which is perfectly situated within walking distance of the downtown area. The location made exploring the city incredibly convenient and enjoyable. One of the highlights was definitely the stunning views – especially in the early mornings when you can watch the hot air balloons drift gracefully across the sky. It’s a truly magical experience for anyone visiting the region. The property features a vibrant and colorful terrace that is ideal for photography enthusiasts. The setting offers numerous picturesque spots to capture memorable shots, whether of the surrounding landscape or candid moments on the terrace itself. This added a special charm to our stay, providing both relaxation and creative inspiration. Breakfast was also a notable aspect of the experience. The spread was generous and delicious, offering a variety of options to start the day right. More importantly, the service was outstanding. The staff were warm, welcoming, and genuinely friendly. We enjoyed conversing with Ali, one of the hosts, who made our mornings pleasant and engaging. He went above and beyond by thoughtfully preparing breakfast for us when we had to leave early in order to catch our flights, which was a kind and thoughtful gesture. The presence of a friendly pet on the premises also added warmth and a homely atmosphere to our visit. Overall, this place exceeded our expectations in terms of location, hospitality, and ambiance. I would highly recommend it to anyone seeking a comfortable and memorable stay with beautiful views and...
Read moreWe had the pleasure of staying at Cappadocia Cave Lodge for three nights in May. I initially booked this hotel on the wrong dates and when I realized and reached out, they were so incredibly accommodating and supportive in rebooking us without charging a cancelation/reschedule fee which was so appreciated. During our stay, we were treated very nicely by all the staff, the breakfast was lovely, the views from the rooftop were spectacular, the room was very comfortable, and the location couldn’t have been better. The rooftop is what really makes this hotel special, particularly for watching the sunrise, which several other guests enjoyed as well.
The hotel staff really went above and beyond for us which really make this hotel stand out, for example: when we wanted to enjoy a quiet sunset on the rooftop, the reception staff gave us some snacks from the kitchen to enjoy together we had an early morning departure and they prepared a to-go breakfast box for us although we weren’t able to take them up on this, they offered an affordable hot air balloon ride rate, better than what we were able to find online ourselves
Overall, I highly recommend this hotel and would stay again. Thank you to all the wonderful staff for making our stay so special...
