We have just spent a fabulous week in Goreme Cave Lodge, Cappadocia, Turkey. A small, perfectly proportioned, family run hotel just a three minute walk from the centre of Goreme. |A varied breakfast buffet was included with the choice of a variety of cooked eggs eg omelette with veg and cheese (or your own choice), fried or scrambled eggs. There was different hot food on offer each day, as well as delicious, fresh crusty rolls, local bread, salads, cheeses, many varieties of olives and jams, Turkish coffee and tea, and freshly made cake and biscuits. This was all served with such friendliness by the staff who couldn’t do enough for you. |Our room was spacious with a very comfortable bed, air conditioning and a modern bathroom with powerful shower. A small fridge with a constant supply of free bottled water Each evening, one of the staff would arrive with a plate of fruit (or sometimes mixed nuts) for us both.|The staff organised all our trips and told us which ones they would recommend. When I originally booked our trip, I received a whatsapp message from the hotel asking if we would like them to book our balloon flight. I agreed and they said it was 220 euros each and I could pay when I came. I received a message back telling me it was all sorted and they looked forward to welcoming us. Our trust in them grew when we arrived and they told us our balloon flight had been reduced and was now only 130 euros each! (It was something to do with Turkey trying to attract more tourists to Cappadocia). They then booked our sunset horse ride (making sure the horses were looked after), the Whirling Dervish show and the taxi to take us there and back.|The hotel had a beautiful clean swimming pool and a comfortable rooftop terrace where we spent two mornings getting up at 5am to watch the hot air balloons lazily drift over the town. So relaxing to watch! We also spent a few midnight hours up there enjoying the cool of the night and watching the city lights. They kept the breakfast area open so the coffee machine was always there if you wanted a hot drink.|I can’t stress enough how kind and friendly all the staff where. They spoke excellent English and helped us in so many ways. They never bombarded us on whatsapp, but if I needed a question answered, Murat would answer me that same day, usually within an hour, with the answer I needed.|We would TOTALLY recommend this hotel to anyone looking to spend time in Cappadocia! Our grateful thanks to all who worked there, for making our holiday go from great to...
Read moreWe came to this hotel with really high expectations and sadly on the most part we're let down. We were let down by their front of house staff. We found that the young gentleman and the lady who was manning reception for the majority of our stay who was in his late 20s/early thirties( did not catch his/her name) was very keen to work on us and explain at great lengths about the various trips on offer. When he realised that we were only going to buy one tour he offered, his hospitality was down significantly with him being markedly less responsive to our various questions about Goreme and Cappadocia in general.
The tour which we took was red route and the guide was so bad and showed no interest in explaining anything to the group. Her English was appalling and disinterested.
When we enquired at the hotel if we could have a packed breakfast then same reception staff said we should have mentioned this in the morning before the staff went off duty and there is no one to prepare any sandwiches. He also added that all the food were prepared in the morning and stored for next day breakfast raising the question of how fresh the hot food would be for the guests. He also said the ladies working in the kitchen would be coming only at 750 am for the 8nam breakfast start time which we felt was a big lie as on our way back to airport in the morning we did see the lady who was working in the kitchen other day having tea in the foyer.
Rooms are good but beware of the staff who try to sell the tours. Again the TV was not working and there were no instructions on how to operate the TV as everything...
Read moreI arrived in this hotel with my sister and my twin nieces. Initially we were going to stay for 2 nights. As soon as we arrived we met with Emre at the reception. I think choosing this hotel and meeting Emre was our turning point for this holiday as we didn’t know what to do around in such short period. After talking to Emre we decided that we should do a Turkish nigh, red tour, green tour, horse riding. Arriving in the afternoon wasn’t going to do all of this so we extended our stay another night straight away. The tours and activities that we were put was amazing. We didn’t get disappointed at any time. Every single activity e.g transfers from the hotels to the activities, the food, tour guides. I could rave about everything for hours. The Göreme Inn hotel (I am glad that I picked an adult only hotel) was very quiet. We woke up each day around 5 am to watch the ballons from the terrace. It was so magical. Then we would sleep until breakfast was start served. The leave the hotel for our tours. Breakfast had plenty of things, e.g omelette, boiled eggs, cheese, sausages, cereals. All yummy and fresh. The beds and pillows were comfortable in both rooms. Special thanks to especially Emre and all staff members...
