This is the most beautiful hotel and the staff are wonderful. We found everything amazing here at this hotel. The hotel itself is stunning. Beautifully made and decorated. The bedrooms and en-suites are big, comfortable and beautiful. The shower and power of water is so sublime I could have spent hours there and the water gave me great hair day. The restaurant for breakfast is also well thought out, it’s on the top floor and has amazing views. The little roof terrace seating area is big enough and very comfortable. We were hoping to see the balloons pass by this morning, but it all depends on which route the wind takes them. We were lucky enough to do the balloon trip the morning before and it coincided with my friend’s birthday. It was the most peaceful and beautiful experience. The staff at this hotel are very kind, helpful, friendly, trustworthy, warm and just beautiful people. They helped us to arrange the shuttle transfer return from the airport to their hotel, and back again. It’s a very reasonable €12 pp one way and a 1 hr journey in a very comfortable new minibus. The staff also helped us to arrange our hot air balloon journey, and we re really glad they did after hearing some horror stories and outlandish prices from other tourists on our travels. They arranged a good price and a very reputable company. We felt incredibly safe in our pilots hands. We re not sure if it was luck or being friendly and smiling to the driver but he put us in the best position on the hot air balloon journey basket, which was obviously also much appreciated. We re only sad that we didn’t plan to stay longer here. This hotel is also perfectly positioned to explore Goreme, there are plenty of beautiful restaurants within 5/10min walking distance. One of our favourites was Mozaic and also Topdeck restaurant. Again the hotel staff recommended and booked us a table for my friends birthday, at top deck restaurant. I would caution anyone with difficulty with stairs because there are a few down to reception and the lovely swimming pool with very comfortable sun loungers and umbrellas. But if you struggle with stairs I think capodeccia will be a struggle for you to see everything here. I would also say just take your time and this hotel is still worth the stay. The staff are also great at carrying the suitcases to and from your room. They can’t do enough for you and make your stay the best it can be. They are also easy to communicate with via WhatsApp or email prior to your journey. That’s how we booked everything with them and it made our trip the best it could be. We also visited the Goreme open air museum this morning. It’s worth visiting and about a 20/30min walk from the hotel. I’d suggest a quick taxi there for 200tl and walking back because the way there is up hill and the museum is on a hill so requires walking up hill and up and down steps. It’s an easy and pleasant walk back however. If you manage to book this hotel you will feel smug and happy at making the best decision. I hope you enjoy your time there as...
Read moreBest hotel we stayed in during our trip through Türkiye!! And categorically one of the best hotels for customer service in any country we have travelled to in the world. During our 4 day visit to Cappadocia, Goreme cave lodge felt like our home away from home. We stayed in the honeymoon suite which was spacious and had a gorgeous bathroom with Hammam shower. Staying in a cave is now crossed off the bucket list for us and GCL did not disappoint. Even though there were other guests it never felt crowded and had more of a boutique hotel vibe. Just a small number of rooms on two levels.
Hotel has a lovely pool and great location. Quiet but also very close to all the action and great restaurants. We could walk to the central area in minutes. The terrace is beautifully decked out and staged to take shots of the balloons for the instagrammer in us all. The view of the balloons every morning from the hotel is magical with balloons floating all around you. Definitely feels like you are in a fairytale !
Breakfast was the best of all the hotels we stayed at during our two week trip. They changed up many of the hot items daily and there were unique and local yummy dishes we had never tried elsewhere. You can also get eggs made to order and the omelettes are cooked to perfection every time.
Though the hotel has a lot of things going for it, the most impressive is the professionalism of the staff and level of customer service. I think the 4 seasons could learn a thing or two from GCL. The owner is present on site and very helpful. Giving us tips on where to eat and visit in the area. He was born right there in the same property and the pride of ownership shows in every detail of this place. Murat and Anya at the front desk were extremely friendly and helpful both before and during our stay. They booked a balloon ride for us and that was a once in a lifetime experience. Haroun was always offering to make us complimentary Turkish tea and coffee and bring us juice and snacks. It was the little things and details that really stood out during the stay. Whether it was making sure our laundry was pressed , to bringing out towels when we were at the pool, to seeing us out the front door and waiting outside until we were safely on our way.
We felt so welcome during our stay and by the end the staff felt more like friends. We were sad to leave. Definitely stay at this cave hotel if you plan to visit cappadocia.. you won’t be...
Read moreExceptional and outstanding are just some of the many ways I could describe my stay at Goreme Cave Lodge. The staff are an absolute credit to this hotel and deserve gold stars for the all the hard work and dedication they put into helping out there guests. Anja and Murat and everyone else who works there are hands down the kindest people I have ever encountered in the hospitality industry. This hotel is a must see when traveling to Cappadocia and not to be missed. The rooms are stunning, large, spotless, warm and cosy! The breakfast is out of this world including a Turkish buffet with freshly made omelettes, tea and Turkish coffee’s! The hotel itself it’s just a 4 minute walk into the city centre and has a beautiful terrace where you can watch the balloons fly from each morning. Anja kindly arranged all trips including our hot air balloon. The staff so kindly bring you juice and hot drinks during the day and also deliver a late night snack to your room. Transfers to and from the airport are organised by the hotel. During my stay it was my birthday and I was surprised with a beautiful chocolate cake at breakfast. On the morning of check out Murat had made us sandwiches and snacks to eat on our journey home, including two key rings to help remember our trip. If you are planning a trip to Goreme this hotel is an absolute must, trust me you will not be disappointed.
Thank you so much for the most special few days, you guys are a credit to yourself’s and also the hotel. Will definitely return 🥰
