You’ll notice I gave 5* for both the food and service, but only 1* for the overall score and atmosphere - which was because of the way I was made to feel after being told to finish my tea (after dinner) and leave because the restaurant was busy.
I frequently travel alone, and have eaten in various restaurants around the world, but NEVER have I ever been told to hurry up and leave.
Just for the record, I’m not one of those people who sits in a restaurant for hours - I eat and I go.
I ordered a tea to finish my meal, and was nearly done when the guy basically kicked me out. I was in the restaurant for under 50 minutes, which I don’t believe is an excessive amount of time for dinner - especially when also taking into account the time you have to wait for your food to arrive.
I also feel if I wasn’t a lone diner I would have been treated somewhat differently too.
I made it clear to the guy I wasn’t happy that I was being asked to leave before I’d even finished my tea. He then told me to sit back down and finish, but at that point I no longer felt welcome and just wanted to leave. I went to pay (minus the tea) and he said quite angrily, “Ok, don’t pay have it for free!”
I walked out feeling pretty awful. I’ve never not paid for my meal before, but then I’ve never been made to feel so uncomfortable and unwelcome either. So on this occasion I feel him writing off the bill (albeit begrudgingly) was just.
Up until the point when the guy told me to hurry up and leave, I’d actually had a really enjoyable experience - the ladies who served me were fabulous, and the food was good.
Needless to say I won’t be returning to this restaurant, and no I don’t recommend it either - unless you intend to hoover your food and drinks down in under...
Read moreLovely place! We went there for dinner on a weeknight and stumbled upon it while on a walk about.
There is both indoor and outdoor seating, the weather is lovely in the evening, and the vibe is relaxed and laid back.
The service is a little slow but understandable considering the crowd as well as the “slow cooking “ methods required for Turkish cuisine.
The mixed mezze is very good! I liked the addition of red beans as well, the flavours were great and the side portion of bread was fresh and soft.
For the mains we tired their “fixed menu” which comes with soup, salad, and the main dish. The vegetarian casserole and pot was very flavourful and rich , but the quantity was a little small for our liking. We enjoyed the lentil soup it was served along with very much, bursting with flavour and light on the stomach.
The chicken clay pot was lovely!! One of the best we’ve tried.
we saw they served classic manti- Turkish dumplings served with yogurt and tomato sauce. This was underwhelming and quite flavourless, perhaps it wasn’t filled with enough meat.
For desserts the baklava is a must! Although it can be overpoweringly sweet so another good option is the rice pudding which is mild and creamy.
Overall a good, satiating dinner, would go again. We ordered from...
Read moreHands down my FAVORITE restaurant in Cappadocia. Seriously! This place is incredible and better than any restaurant I've tried here.
The moment you sit down they bring you a fresh big basket of bread. The bread is fluffy and alone would fill you. This place is best value for money compared to any other restaurant. They do 3 course sets for a low price that includes soup, salad, & main course of a meat based dish (which comes with rice) . At the end they often bring you tea on the house to finish off your meal and relax
Their soup is so tasty. The salad so fresh and their main meat dishes are phenomenal and flavourful. The meat is cooked perfectly. Also try their gozleme, best yet I've had in all of Turkey.
The restaurant hosts and waiter tend to you nonstop and want to make sure you have an amazing experience. Best yet the restaurant is on a quiet street so you can relax after a long day of exploring the area. The seats are comfortable and there's Wi-Fi too.
Trust me... After you eat here once you'll wanna stop going to any of the other restaurants and just eat here for the rest of your stay...
