Warning: please read hotel's response, you will see my point!
Heybe Hotel, situated near the center, the only good thing about the place. The rest is just scam, unprofessional and salty behaviours.
However, our experience was marred by service issues. Despite our desire to access the sauna by paying a FEE separately, we were informed that it was only available with a massage package, which we didn't want. This lack of flexibility in service offerings was DISAPPOINTING. (I never asked to access there freely, I wanted to pay for SAUNA ONLY.) Please do not give me an answer implying that as if I asked for 'free service' for God's sake.
Most importantly, despite booking a room with a double bed for our couple's getaway, we were given a room with two single beds. I rejected this and asked for a proper room. When we requested a change, they gave us second room and it had two single beds too :) to be pushed together to create a double bed. This oversight in providing what we had officially booked and paid for left a sour impression.
Despite these shortcomings, our overall experience at the hotel was okay, albeit with room for improvement in customer service and room allocation policies.
Just to mention, my partner is Swedish while I'm Turkish. As we courteously asked to receive what we had paid and booked for, I couldn't help but overhear the exchange of salty comments among the staff.
Additional note regarding to hotel's prompt response:
We initially planned to extend our stay, having stayed at another hotel previously. Unfortunately, that establishment was fully booked, leading us to choose your hotel for a single night. Our decision was driven by personal reasons necessitating our return home the following morning. However, I was taken aback by the response, "If you stay more than 24 hours, we can fix the problems," as it implies that the level of service provided is contingent upon the duration of one's stay. I firmly believe that exemplary service should be offered regardless of the length of a guest's visit.
I want to clarify that we were not seeking FREE services. Our request was simply to pay for sauna access without the massage service, which we did not require. I'm expressing my disappointment regarding the lack of flexibility in accommodating this request. I urge you to carefully review my feedback, as it highlights our desire for a more flexible approach without implying any expectation of free services.
Regarding the bed situation, we booked got double bed and you provided that when I insisted that I didn't want to sleep in 'two single beds pushed together' only.
The response of you literally made my point, you guys are just...
Read moreThis is a long post, so here is a quick summary if you’re in a rush:||1. Do not stay here|2. The owner, Yusef, is a jerk|3. If you have to stay here, DO NOT book a hot air balloon flight through him|4. Please take the negative reviews here seriously||We booked a four night stay here basically because it’s the cheapest spot in Göreme. Our reason for coming to Göreme was obviously to do a hot air balloon flight- like most people! ||We contacted a tour agent who had a rare spot available for us to take a flight- we booked it in! Not long after this, Yusef emailed us saying that he could actually book us a flight for €60 cheaper per person! We thought ‘fantastic’! We waited for him to confirm that he had booked it, which he did, before cancelling our original flight. We were very excited....|We arrived at the accomodation early, so we thought we would ask if we could get an early check in. While we were chatting to him, we mentioned how much we were looking forward to our hot air balloon flight- this is where our hearts began to sink... he said ‘I can try and book you in but no promises’... we were shocked. He hadn’t booked us in, like he said he did, at all. This was our whole reason for travelling to Göreme, it was going to be the highlight of our holiday to Turkey. We demanded for him to fix this situation or we would not be staying here. He told us to give him half an hour and he would call the travel agency to see what he can do. We left and came back to the most disgusting customer service we have ever experienced. He hadn’t tried to call. We explained how upset we were to which he responded by yelling at us about how much he hates the hot air ballon rides, how this is not his fault, that it was OUR FAULT. This ended with him telling us that we are no longer welcome to stay and that he would not be refunding the full amount that we had paid for the accomodation. We were more than happy to leave considering the fact that I did not feel safe around him and knowing that Agoda would in fact refund us the full amount (he actually tried to tell Agoda that he did give us the full amount back- on top of ruining our trip he tried to steal money from us). Leaving us stranded- without accomodation or a ballon flight- Yusef should be extremely embarrassed of himself and his business. ||I would like to say that after taking matters into our own hands we managed to get a hot air balloon flight ourselves, with the original agency we booked with, and had a great time. We were very lucky that they could fit us in with one...
