Fretwells — Restaurant in England

Fretwells only been open for a couple of years in the former Printworks of the same name. The owner has done a fantastic job of making a new pub look at though it's 200 years old. This is a proper three room pub like pubs used to be. A nice spacious bar with views over scale Lane and High Street. Separate Lounge and an excellent separate games room, with five pinball machines, a table football games and a rare 1920's bar billiards table, with a qr code so you can keep score with an app on your phone, And an Internet jukebox in the games room. Excellent often changing good choice of cask conditioned ales and other beers including a very nice elderflower larger, very Friendly staff. Not dog friendly. Outside seating area in the courtyard. Apparently this pub has been open for four years First time I have noticed it though a bit tucked away at the end of Scale Lane It’s friendly and it’s decorated as if it’s an old pub that’s been there ages. Anyway I visited with a friend (we are both retired) and we stayed and had a few beers and there was a decent choice of real ales. Also as a bonus if you are over 65 ….which we both are 😆 You get a 20% discount which I have never seen at any pub before We will visit...

A very nice and welcoming pub with a great atmosphere. The staff is fantastic and will gladly have a chat with you while you're having a few pints. The quality of the drinks is always great and the range varies from nice light hoppy beers to darker stouts with a wide pallet of a myriad of chocolate and almost coffee like notes.
