The experience on the whole was in my opinion alright, but could easily be improved. When we arrived we greeted the member of staff at the front desk and were met with silence, granted this could be in part due to my relatively thick, out of town, accent. However, personally not what I expect from a hotel. The room was clean and had its own toilet and shower facilities contrary to the information online. My only unexpected issue with the room on the whole was the bed shook a lot whilst moving around trying to sleep and it sagged slightly in the middle. But not wishing to sound completely negative, when we got into the room there were clean towels and a soap for each of us, which is to be somewhat expected from a hotel, but still I have stayed in places where this is apparently not the norm. The train outside was loud but didn't disturb sleep and in fact I woke feeling the most rested I had felt in a week or so. Honestly you get what you pay for, and if you are only staying a night and need somewhere cheap which is also close to a transport hub this was the only place we could find that suited that bill, and honestly for the money you get far more than I'd expect in that part of London. If I was looking to stay for one night I would likely stay there again, but any longer than one or two nights I would choose somewhere less close to...
Read moreIf you book with a third party you'll get the worst. I got the worst. Even the cells in Alcatraz, yes the jail, are bigger than welhere i was. The bed was squeaking like I never had before. Yes the shower and toilet are not in the room. The worst was it's right behind the train station, trains every two minutes. So I was looking for another night because I have a meeting the same day very close and didn't want to look for another one, I asked if I could book it but for the same price I paid, the guy at the reception not very nice, told me 50 pounds, seriously that's a joke, compare euro or dollars that's a joke and an insult. So next day I left, I left my luggage there and went to look for another place, which I found 5 min away from them and it's cheaper, bigger, nicer and quiet! Go for a B&B but do not book anything in high street, they own most of the "hotels" there! I travel a lot and in different countries I love to stay in smaller hotel or airbnb or b&b but this was probably the worst place I've stayed. I work in hotels and talking about big brand hotels and you at the holly house hotel, you're not an hôtelier someone that like people or make everything possible to please a guest and make foreigners welcome, you are there to get the money!...

The room smells BAD. We noticed it every time we returned to the room and opening the window didn't help.
In the hotel lobby, and on our room door, was a sign that said to leave your luggage and valuables in your room at your own risk, between the times of 8am to 6pm. Wow.
The room was dirty. One of our towels was covered in some black substance. It was probably masscara but we honestly had no idea. We where concerned their might be bedbugs.
The shower is basically on top of the toilet. The shower drain was so clogged that you could only shower for about 30 secs before the water buildup would flow into the room.
The "breakfast" was literally cereal you get yourself and a piece of toast. Only open from 7-11.
The pictures are misleading, the room is quite small.
The only real upside is that the hotel is located a minute walk from Victoria station, where you can get...
