I am disappointed that I have to say this however, I went with a friend (both of us coming from over an hour away) and was looking forward to our dining experience having not seen each other in 2 years. The wine we ordered was not available (had been taken off the menu - ok, no problem we ordered something else, only ever so slightly higher in price). We ordered some calamari, both of us ordered the scallops each and they were really good. I ordered the steak (no, it was not sliced) and it was cooked medium - I asked for rare. So, I said to my friend that it would just be insane to have to send it back because I knew it would have to be binned and it is not what I wanted to do. In the meantime, 2 gentlemen arrived and sat beside our table (indoors) with 2 large dogs! 1 had his shirt constantly riding up so one could see what was just not necessary. Their dogs were in our space and 1 sat on my foot. Ok, I didnt say anything so not to cause any fuss. I have a dog but, this would not be acceptable and in fact, I went to 2 places for dinner thereafter at the weekend and was informed the dog could only be allowed in the outdoor area. Anyhow, staff and customers (including myself) had to walk around 2 tables to get around them and their dogs to use the toilet. The waitress (I am sorry to say was rather rude - I shall explain) came to take our plates and asked if food was OK, I replied that I had a problem with my dish but, would explain later. She took our orders for dessert and when I asked about the chocolate cake, she informed us that it was a mousse. It arrived, I took a bite and said to my friend it didn't taste much of chocolate but, more of peanut butter! Ok, so I have no allergies to peanuts but what on earth! My friend and I left the rest of our desserts. Waitress came back and we told her issues we had with both my steak and the desserts. Her response re: the steak "why didn't you say something before?" Re: the dessert when asked about the peanut butter instead of chocolate she replied, "I didnt write the menu!" I said, "I knew they would throw the steak away and bring me a new one as I had seen the 2 gentlemen beside me returning their steaks and my point was to get the chef to cook the steaks as requested first time round (rare) and not to have to waste food in this manner". The waitress replied, "well I could have got you a free wine or something!" This - with an attitude. After the comment regarding the dessert, I asked to speak to the manager. The manager came and asked what the problem was. We explained. She responded (now leaning on our table with both hands) that the steak could have been changed. I know that but, surely having seen plates being returned the idea is not to waste is all I was getting at. Then when I explained that there was no need for the waitress to be rude she said nothing but that she would simply take the dessert off the bill! Regarding the 2 gentlemen and their dogs her reply was, "they are always here doing the same" and shrugged her shoulders. That was it. I also learned from my friend (while I was talking to the manager) the gentleman to my left had started filming until she gave him a look to stop! Like, what on earth is wrong with people. They were clicking their fingers at staff to get more wine and just rather ill mannered. Anyway, those who know me, know I love travelling, love wining and dining, love socialising, love good food etc etc so, I was just disappointed with the service and some of the food. The waitress should not be thinking a glass of free wine was the answer to my issue with the steak. Perhaps she meant well but, she sure needs a lesson in communication and manners 🤷🏽♀️ After all, my daughter had a great experience there and recommended the place to me. Shame my experience was not so good except that I met my friend and we had a good time and went elsewhere for...
Read moreThe Jones Family Kitchen restaurant in Belgravia is from the same creators of one of our favourite independent restaurants in Shoreditch, The Jones Family Project. Finding out that they had a new hidden gem in Belgravia we could not wait to visit.
Situated less than a five minute walk from Victoria Coach Station, Eccleston Yard has been transformed from an old warehouse space / car park to create a haven for visitors off the busy streets of Victoria. Part of the charm is the fact it is tucked away from the hustle and bustle. We hope it will retain part of the secrecy.
As you arrive in Eccleston Yard, one of the stand out features is the Frieda painting from Zabou which is so vibrant and beautiful.
Opposite the mural lies The Jones Family Kitchen with a spacious outside terrace perfect for al fresco drinking and dining. The interior is absolutely gorgeous with and we loved the quirky photos on the wall. The staff were so accommodating throughout our evening assisting with cocktail choices and recommending cuts of meat.
We absolutely love the cocktail menu at The Jones Family Kitchen!! Sometimes bars go a little far with the cocktails and make them over complicated which can confuse consumers. This menu has awesome creations but with familiarity in the spirits and ingredients.
The cocktails were SPOT on. They looked gorgeous and were refreshing without being too sweet.
We were recommended one of the new gins on the menu from Japan that has limited circulation in the UK! The Kin No Tea is served with white chocolate (representing the mountains of Kyoto) and lime. The mixture really worked for me - taking away the slightly bitter gin taste and replacing it with more citrus flavours.
The Jones Family Kitchen is known for its excellent steaks, with the meat sourced from the wonderful Ginger Pig. However, they acknowledge that more people are wanting an alternative to meat. With this in mind, they have three vegan dishes (including risotto and charred cauliflower) as well as a separate gluten free menu. So fear not veggies and vegans, this lovely restaurant is still accessible for you!
To start with we had the Seared Scallops, cauliflower, wild garlic gremolata (£9) and Charcoal-Grilled Asparagus, Markham Farm asparagus, romesco, parmesan (£8). Both starters were fresh, light and tasty and the dressing with the asparagus was particularly impressive.
On to the mains we had the 300g 55 dry aged Rump Steak (£19.50) and the 350g Sirloin Steak (£27.00) cooked medium rare. Both cuts of meat were enormous and just so tender! The Rump for me had more flavour (more like a rib eye) and the sirloin was more like a fillet. These were top steaks at very reasonable prices.
As sides we opted for the Truffle mac and cheese which is actually a rather large portion. It was crispy on the top and rich with a great consistency - highly recommended! The triple cooked chips and rocket and parmesan salad were both solid choices too!
This dessert menu was made for me!! With two of my favourite desserts - sticky toffee pudding and chocolate brownie, I was torn. The lemon tart also sounded top notch. We just had to try Anna's triple chocolate brownie, named after one of the lovely co-founders. Oh my, we were blown away!! This is exactly how a brownie should be - it was moist, gooey, had a good crunch and was perfect with the ice cream. Hands down one of the best brownies I have ever had.
The Jones Family Kitchen restaurant in Belgravia lived up to my expectations and more. The venue is stunning, the food is spot on, the cocktails are fantastic and the staff are great. Seriously, what more...

This is a classic, upscale steakhouse—five stars, hands down! I originally booked The Jones Family Kitchen online because it was conveniently close to our hotel, but it ended up exceeding all of my expectations.
I anticipated the old-school ambiance and classic menu you’d expect from a place like this, but what truly stood out was the service. From the moment we checked in, the staff went above and beyond. I mentioned we were celebrating our 26 years of being together and engagement with a wedding date set for 9.26.2026 in the UK, and they treated us like royalty—even surprising us with a beautiful flaming dessert on the house!
The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was impeccable. The manager made his presence felt throughout the dining room, ensuring every guest was well cared for. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely kind, offering great menu suggestions. Everyone we encountered was smiling, professional, and full of great energy. Even the bartender impressed us with expertly crafted cocktails that perfectly complemented our meal.
The restaurant itself was spotless, stylish, and welcoming. We were only visiting London to finalize our residency before our wedding next September, but we’ll definitely be returning to The Jones Family Kitchen whenever we’re in town.
They truly know how to make guests feel special from the moment you walk in until the moment you leave. Highly, highly recommended!
Lastly, we want to give a special thank you to our wonderful waitress, Mirrella, for her kindness, attentiveness, and the genuine warmth she brought to our dining experience. She made us feel so welcome and cared for, offering helpful suggestions, great conversation, and an overall sense of comfort that truly elevated our evening.
We would also like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Stephen for personally checking in on us throughout our meal and for his thoughtful gesture of serving a special glass of wine to celebrate our wedding engagement. His attention and hospitality made our celebration all the more memorable.
Thank you both for making our evening at The Jones Family Kitchen one we’ll never forget.
Warmest regards, Tehere &...
