As a seasoned Disney Parks visitor and longtime supporter, our recent stay at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites was unfortunately marred by an unresolved issue and poor customer service.
We rented a car from John Wayne Airport, shopped around and drove to the hotel, informing the staff at check-in that we would be returning the vehicle that same evening. We were issued a parking ticket but were assured it wouldn’t be an issue since we were not actually using the parking service overnight.
Everything went smoothly—until checkout, when we were charged $120 for four days of parking we never used. We immediately spoke with a customer service agent and the manager, Ashley, who both assured us that a full refund would be issued to our credit card.
Weeks later, there is still no refund. Although we were told the refund was processed on June 10th, our bank confirms that no credit has been received. Despite multiple follow-up emails, we have been completely ghosted by Ashley. I even made an international call to speak with her directly—she asked for three more days to resolve it. That was over five business days ago, and we are still waiting.
There customer service department today made 10 phone calls to the hotel this afternoon with no answer. There customer service department has been trying to get transaction details to support a dispute with our credit card company but even they were at odds.
This experience has been deeply disappointing. As a Disneyland superfan who has brought my family for many many years and actively recommends Disney vacations to dozens of people, I expected far better. This has been the worst service we’ve ever encountered at a Holiday Inn Express.
A simple refund is no longer sufficient after the time, stress, and energy we’ve spent dealing with this circus act. This level of disorganization and disregard is unacceptable—especially from a Disneyland Good Neighbor Hotel. We expect a prompt follow-up from upper management ( not Ashley) addressing not only the refund but also the complete breakdown in communication and accountability. Holiday Inn Express & Suites has serious improvements to make if it hopes to meet the...

I stayed at this hotel for two nights during my family vacation in Anaheim. The location was perfect for visiting Disneyland as it was only a 10-minute walk away from both parks.
The room was spacious and clean with two queen beds and a sofa bed. The bathroom was modern and well-equipped with a shower stall and a bathtub. The TV had plenty of channels and there was free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel.
The complimentary breakfast was delicious and varied with hot dishes like eggs, bacon, pancakes, cereal bowls etc., as well as items like yogurt parfait, bagels, muffins and their signature warm cinnamon rolls., plus coffee , tea , juice , milk , etc.
The staff at this hotel were very friendly and helpful . They greeted us warmly when we checked in, gave us useful tips on where to go and what to do in Anaheim, helped us with our luggage when we returned from our trips to Disneyland , checked on us regularly during our stay, answered our questions promptly, resolved any issues we had quickly, thanked us for choosing their hotel, and wished us a safe trip back home .
The amenities at this hotel were great. There was a pool that was clean and refreshing, a fitness center that had modern equipment, free towels provided . There was also a restaurant next door at the Home2 Suites by Hilton that served tasty food at reasonable prices. I forgot to mention there was also a bar inside the Home2 that offered drinks at happy hour.
The location of this hotel was ideal . It was close to Disneyland ( only 10 minutes walk ) as well as other attractions like Downtown Disney District , Angel Stadium of Anaheim , Honda Center etc., It was also close to public transportation like buses , trains , light rail etc., It took me about 15 minutes to get around by these means .
I think this hotel offered great value for money. I think this price was fair considering what we got in return. We had no complaints about our stay here.
Overall rating : 5 stars
I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a comfortable, convenient, affordable place to stay in Anaheim . It is one of my favorite hotels I have...
Read moreI've stayed in a few Holiday Inn sites this year and honestly they have all surprised me. Very friendly staff at all locations. They seem to go out of their way to be helpful which is a rare find these days.
I go to Disneyland every year and each time I choose a different hotel/motel because none really stand out. But after the first day at this site my husband made a point to say he liked this one and that we should stay here in future visits. So the pros, it is a 15-minute walk to Disneyland security. They have a free breakfast. They have a jacuzzi (in case your old body needs it after 12 hours in the park). There is a bar next door at the Hilton. Mimi's Cafe allows online take out orders which you can pick up on the way back to the hotel. The room was also a little bigger than your standard 2 beds. There was a couch area with a coffee table. I dont even remember booking that lol. Overall, I'm super happy with our stay. I knocked off a star because there is a lot of highway traffic noise and there is a valet. The noise wasn't a huge deal for me and the rooms came with a white noise machine. I'm sure most people are so tired they don't notice anything after they pass out. So this is a half star. The required valet seems weird though. Especially since our vehicle was parked right in front of the hotel. I don't really understand the purpose unless the valet is there 24/7 and also watches the cars. And maybe they do and I didn't pay attention. Again, this isn't an issue for me. You have to pay parking at every hotel/motel in this area anyways. So if the valet is there 24/7, I'd rather pay to park here than at the locations that say park at your own risk. We will see you next year,...
