Had an absolutely fantastic evening at The Palm on Saturday (8/15). We had absolutely delicious food and the service was incredible, easily the best and most friendly I can remember having in a very long time. You'd expect that maybe they would be a little stuck up or snooty as it's definitely a high end restaurant but they absolutely weren't and it was amazing.
Carlos/Carlo was our server for the evening and he was so sweet, funny, and thoughtful to our table and especially my mother who was impressed and flattered by his attentiveness. We were celebrating my husband's birthday and thanks to the care we received here it was made truly special and I made a point to let one of the managers know how much we appreciated the outstanding service we received.
The food was to die for we ordered a giant lobster my husband and I split with the wild mushrooms and lobster gnocchi for sides, calamari and lobster bisque to start and for the finish an absolutely decadent chocolate cake & otherworldly smooth, creamy cheesecake drizzled in strawberry(maybe raspberry) syrup that was out of this world.
It's an absolute treat to be able to go out especially with the world the way it is right now and everything about our visit was amazing and only goes to prove how The Palm is the top of its class for Atlanta fine dining! It's absolutely no question that I will gladly return.
For a closing statement I want to applaud management for their absolutely impeccable handling of the restaurant as far as health & safety concerns go. The staff wore masks, gloves, and protective gear PROPERLY which I've found to be a rarity, unfortunately, so this was such a relief. We were seated at a distance from other patrons which helped ease our concerns about going out for the evening and it helped me so much personally (I've, unfortunately, struggled with increased frequency of anxiety attacks any time I'm in public due to people acting so flippantly about the virus).
I'm one of those more at-risk persons and going out for me had stopped entirely since the pandemic started due to my anxiety attacks. So, this was my first time going out in public to a real restaurant in probably 4-5 months and the efforts I witnessed by staff and management alike to ensure our safety, security, and health was such a relief that I was actually able to enjoy myself rather than worrying about the virus. So I'm saying thank you. Thank you so much for everything you did, have done, and continue to do. I can't explain any better how much it meant to me to be able to enjoy my evening celebrating my husband's birthday in a situation that could have been so much worse and wasn't. Thank...
Read moreI came to The Palm for my birthday and it was not what I excepted. Upon arrival the host was guest was great with getting us seated. Our waitress arrived about 10 minutes after. We ordered apps and cocktails to start. Then a party sat in the same section and the waitress went to service them. Here is where everything went down hill for me. After her going back and forth to where I don't know we waited for our apps and drinks for about 15 mins. When she brought it over my lobster bisque was very salty and the texture was off like it was microwaved. I tried getting her attention about the soup but it was like she was avoiding the table. Usually I would get up and leave but it was my birthday and my friend didn't want it to be spoiled by it so we just waited to order. Mean while our waitress was tending to the next table and brought out their apps. We still waited 20 mins before she came back to take our order. She placed the order and we order cocktails. It took 15 mins to get that. I took two sips and noticed a bug in my glass. This time I was determined to get her attention. Finally she came over and I told her what I found and she acted like I was lying and said I don't see anything, until I pointed it out and then at that time she didn't even apologize or asked if I wanted something else. She left and came back to the other table. I had to then call her over and let her know I didn't want the same thing. She asked very annoyed what did I want. She came back with that drink and it looked thrown in the glass. At this point I told myself I will never come back. She then took the other tables order. Meanwhile we waited for our food. I then noticed she came out with our and the other guess food at the same time even though we ordered our meal probably 20 min apart. My steak was medium-well as asked for but I can tell it was sitting under a heated lamp. It was paired with truffle butter and if you know anything about truffles (white or black) it should be a garnish never cook cause it changes the taste. The truffle tasted burnt and like engine oil, which was conformation for me that it sat under that lamp to long. There was NO seasoning at all. My friend ordered the tuna and it was cold. Mash had crusted over cause once again it sat under that lamp and the green beans looked like they where reheated. At this point I was over it. I didn't bothering sending anything back because at this point it would take her forever to do right by this. And before you say well maybe it was because it wasn't at all. 285 for what. I lived and I learned. Never will I return to this establishment. This was my experience maybe yours...
Read moreThe Palm - Atlanta left much to be desired, especially when it comes to service. This was one of the worst dining experiences we've had at a high-end steakhouse/restaurant. Here's a list of the many misses from tonight's disappointing dinner:
