Indulge in a King Crab Feast Every Once in a While!

We knew that The Palm has a great reputation after visiting locations in Houston and New York, we were expecting a nice lunch....but what a disappointment we visited about 2:30 pm and it might be a shift change for personnel, we sat down and after a couple of minutes a server came and took our drink order...a Guiness beer in a can and a Lemon Drop....drinks came...Guiness in a can with no glass to pour it, he just left the drinks there and left....had to wave him down and ask for a glass... The Power Lunch is a good option but after being on a cruise recently my wife didn't feel like having Salmon so she order the Lobster Salad and I ordered the Wagyu Burger....We had the Bacon appetizer and the Jumbo shrimp cocktail, they were of a good consistency and great flavor, we noticed that we didn't have any knives and never brought us any bread...after appetizers the food took a long time to come..and the moment that he said that the plate for my burger was very hot I knew it was bad news...the plate was hot because I think it have been under a heat lamp for a while and it showed..I ordered my burger medium rare and it was close to well done and the bun was hard from the heat lamp...lobster salad was big and had some flavor but it is served with iceberg lettuce..Really ??? And some blanched veggies that tasted like from a can...what ever the name of the server was....he never checked on us...we needed more drinks...finally he showed up and gave us a box to put the salad to go and after that we have to chase him to ask for our check...there was only another couple at another table and they were not busy at all... he never came to take our payment so my wife walked to the bar and ask somebody to take care of it and even then the bar tender and the "server" were just talking amongst them selves...we left the customary tip but we shouldn't tip at all....what a terrible place and experience...we were servers and bar tenders before and understand that is a hard job, but we don't see any excuse for them doing such a bad job and serving over priced sub-par food...they were setting up for dinner...but like they say in the food industry.."THE MOST IMPORTANT CUSTOMER IS THE ONE THAT IS THERE RIGHT NOW, NOT THE ONE THAT MIGHT COME LATER".. Save your self from this type of experience and go somewhere else

We had a private room due to a birthday celebration/9 people. The waiter was pleasant. We started out with wine. The waiter suggested the seafood platter for the table as an appetizer. So we did. It came out and it was 2 giant cracked claws and legs and a platter of about 12 shrimp (cocktail). Our hostess was a bit taken aback as we all were because as this was not what we expected. That was basically 1 shrimp per person and we would have to share passing around and digging out crab meat. We expected a full fledge platter. This may work for 2 people but not 9. And it was $150 plus I believe he quoted $18 for the shrimp. The manager was kind enough to take it back for the miscommunication and left the cocktail. The food was very good though. Every thing came out correct no complaints with that. Only thing that could have been better was communication. We are in a room laughing and enjoying ourselves. Instead of bursting into the room, opening the doors, pulling them back locking them, starting to take things as if you were cleaning, (this was basically to tell us to get the hell out) he could have entered the room and advised us at let’s say for example, you close at 9 tell us at a quarter til or just merely state “just to inform you guys our business hours end at or ending at....not to rush you but to inform you we will be closing down soon.” Trust me we would have said thank you and exited. We were finish with our meals and only talking and enjoying one’s company, no one was paying attention to the time. So it was kind of rude on how that played out. Outside of that, we would be back.

Had an absolutely fantastic evening at The Palm on Saturday (8/15). We had absolutely delicious food and the service was incredible, easily the best and most friendly I can remember having in a very long time. You'd expect that maybe they would be a little stuck up or snooty as it's definitely a high end restaurant but they absolutely weren't and it was amazing.

Carlos/Carlo was our server for the evening and he was so sweet, funny, and thoughtful to our table and especially my mother who was impressed and flattered by his attentiveness. We were celebrating my husband's birthday and thanks to the care we received here it was made truly special and I made a point to let one of the managers know how much we appreciated the outstanding service we received.

The food was to die for we ordered a giant lobster my husband and I split with the wild mushrooms and lobster gnocchi for sides, calamari and lobster bisque to start and for the finish an absolutely decadent chocolate cake & otherworldly smooth, creamy cheesecake drizzled in strawberry(maybe raspberry) syrup that was out of this world.

It's an absolute treat to be able to go out especially with the world the way it is right now and everything about our visit was amazing and only goes to prove how The Palm is the top of its class for Atlanta fine dining! It's absolutely no question that I will gladly return.

For a closing statement I want to applaud management for their absolutely impeccable handling of the restaurant as far as health & safety concerns go. The staff wore masks, gloves, and protective gear PROPERLY which I've found to be a rarity, unfortunately, so this was such a relief. We were seated at a distance from other patrons which helped ease our concerns about going out for the evening and it helped me so much personally (I've, unfortunately, struggled with increased frequency of anxiety attacks any time I'm in public due to people acting so flippantly about the virus).

I'm one of those more at-risk persons and going out for me had stopped entirely since the pandemic started due to my anxiety attacks. So, this was my first time going out in public to a real restaurant in probably 4-5 months and the efforts I witnessed by staff and management alike to ensure our safety, security, and health was such a relief that I was actually able to enjoy myself rather than worrying about the virus. So I'm saying thank you. Thank you so much for everything you did, have done, and continue to do. I can't explain any better how much it meant to me to be able to enjoy my evening celebrating my husband's birthday in a situation that could have been so much worse and wasn't. Thank...

I came to The Palm for my birthday and it was not what I excepted. Upon arrival the host was guest was great with getting us seated. Our waitress arrived about 10 minutes after. We ordered apps and cocktails to start. Then a party sat in the same section and the waitress went to service them. Here is where everything went down hill for me. After her going back and forth to where I don't know we waited for our apps and drinks for about 15 mins. When she brought it over my lobster bisque was very salty and the texture was off like it was microwaved. I tried getting her attention about the soup but it was like she was avoiding the table. Usually I would get up and leave but it was my birthday and my friend didn't want it to be spoiled by it so we just waited to order. Mean while our waitress was tending to the next table and brought out their apps. We still waited 20 mins before she came back to take our order. She placed the order and we order cocktails. It took 15 mins to get that. I took two sips and noticed a bug in my glass. This time I was determined to get her attention. Finally she came over and I told her what I found and she acted like I was lying and said I don't see anything, until I pointed it out and then at that time she didn't even apologize or asked if I wanted something else. She left and came back to the other table. I had to then call her over and let her know I didn't want the same thing. She asked very annoyed what did I want. She came back with that drink and it looked thrown in the glass. At this point I told myself I will never come back. She then took the other tables order. Meanwhile we waited for our food. I then noticed she came out with our and the other guess food at the same time even though we ordered our meal probably 20 min apart. My steak was medium-well as asked for but I can tell it was sitting under a heated lamp. It was paired with truffle butter and if you know anything about truffles (white or black) it should be a garnish never cook cause it changes the taste. The truffle tasted burnt and like engine oil, which was conformation for me that it sat under that lamp to long. There was NO seasoning at all. My friend ordered the tuna and it was cold. Mash had crusted over cause once again it sat under that lamp and the green beans looked like they where reheated. At this point I was over it. I didn't bothering sending anything back because at this point it would take her forever to do right by this. And before you say well maybe it was because it wasn't at all. 285 for what. I lived and I learned. Never will I return to this establishment. This was my experience maybe yours...

The Palm - Atlanta left much to be desired, especially when it comes to service. This was one of the worst dining experiences we've had at a high-end steakhouse/restaurant. Here's a list of the many misses from tonight's disappointing dinner:

  1. My niece ordered a seltzer with lemon, and instead, the wait staff brought over a bottle of San Pellegrino, which we did not order. We ended up drinking it anyway, only to be charged $9.50 for it, twice. Side note, we also ordered a Coca-Cola, and it was flat.
  2. We ordered salads as appetizers, and after about 10 minutes, the wait staff asked us again if we wanted to order appetizers, completely forgetting that we had ordered salads.
  3. I ordered a filet mignon as my main course, which came out about 5 minutes earlier than the rest of our entrees, with no steak knife.
  4. Finally, the rest of the entrees were served, but the wait staff forgot our two side dishes, and had to ask us what we ordered! This is completely unacceptable. By the way, still no steak knife.
  5. Here come the sides we ordered (which were delicious). They were two potato sides, and we had requested lots of ketchup. No ketchup came with the sides. And guess what? Still waiting for that steak knife.
  6. Finally the ketchup and the steak knife are delivered to our table, after we asked for them several times. No one asked me how my steak was, or to cut into it to make sure it was cooked to my liking - another sign that this place has no idea what they're doing and could care less about their patrons/customers.
  7. Now for the cherry on top. I ordered a coffee for dessert. The waitress brings out the coffee and says to me "is this coffee hot, can you check it?" What? Are you kidding me? You have to ask ME if the coffee is hot? Shouldn't you know if it's hot enough before you bring it to the table?!?!? They actually made me take a sip of this "room temperature at best" coffee, and after I say it's not hot, they go and warm it up in the microwave (I think?). It comes back with this weird white film on top (and it wasn't froth I promise you). This was absolutely insane. At this point, I'm starting to think this restaurant should be boarded up and turned into a parking lot.
  8. Several items on the bill were either wrong or we were overcharged. The double San Pellegrino charge, which I had mentioned before, and then my wife ordered gnocchi with just melted butter, and was charged $30 for gnocchi with bolognese. Absolutely ridiculous.
  9. After I paid the check, I had to ask the waitress for a pen! Maybe she was afraid how I would fill out the remainder of the check!

Run far and run fast from The...
