Rose and Rye — Restaurant in Atlanta

This place has gone into the toilet since it switched from Whiskey Blue. Me and my boyfriend went in for a night cap and our server Dominique never greeted us after we’d been sitting for over 10 mins, so we assumed we go to the bar and order for ourselves. Dominique then approached my bf at (not behind) the bar and says “what can I get you”. He orders the margarita pizza, jack and coke and a “Crémant” (their sparkling rose per menu). After almost 15mins we received our drinks and my sparkling brut rose was a still rose. I wait for her to come back she doesn’t, so my bf brings the wine to the bar and the bartender tells him they don’t have any sparkling rose. My bf comes back to ask me what I want and I go to the bar and ask the bartender what he has while I’m doing so Dominique approaches me and rude and condescendingly tells me “we don’t got that”, I say ok well your menu has a brut rose, she says they have Prosecco I say ok I don’t see it on your menu but which rose did you serve me? She points to the more expensive still rose. I was irritated then at the fact that she did not acknowledge miss serving us and also up-charged us without our knowledge. On top of that her entire demeanor and attitude was rude and unwelcoming. Finally we request the check which she does not show us 1st* and I have to go get the check from her at the bar, I see we’re charged gratuity and immediately I ask for the manager as the service we received (or lack there of) was negative!! She then proceeds to make rude comments as I let the manager know exactly what happened because on top of what I recounted she also never checked on us nor did she bring us napkins or plates for our food. The manager Shamar was out of it, and kept repeating that he apologized for the lack of service and hoped we’d be back. Meanwhile Dominique continues to make comments so I address her directly saying you were rude to me about the wine and as I stated did not provide any service, while I’m speaking she throws up her hand and walks off. Shamar never interjected when his employee continued to act inappropriately. In fact the manager clearly set the tone for the entire staff by acting as though he were somewhere in the clouds rather than projecting a cohesive work environment. The DJ and the club itself was nice, but the waitress and bottle service was ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. I got better customer service from the valet, host and security checking us. We went for my husbands Birthday. We checked in with the host and she took our id and credit card. They sat us down at a dirty table that had drinks on it. We originally ordered 2 bottles-it took FOREVER to come out. They didn’t have any sparklers and when I asked the waitress she said they were lost. When she brought our bottles out we didn’t have juice , cups or shot glasses. When she finally brought the shot glasses she sat them down and left!!!! Literally walked away from out table and didn’t pour 1 shot!. Ma’am✋🏽that is the BARE MINIMUM that comes with bottle service! So she left and said she going to get mixers. So now you have paying customers who’ve been waiting for at least an hour with a bottle-no shot glasses and now no mixers. I, myself pour a round of shots for our party of 10. Next thing I know, the bar back is coming by with mixers. The waitress NEVER CAME BACK TO POUR ANY SHOTS OR DRINKS. It was THE WORST SERVICE OF MY LIFE. I was so disappointed because I wanted my husband to have a great time for his bday but this club was a DISAPPOINTMENT. We then order another bottle. Which took forever once again and by the time she brought it the club was emptying out, almost completely. The waitress brings it out w a light and I ask her again to pour a round of shots and she would pour a shot and pass it, pour another shot, and pass it out-TAKING FOREVER. So I started pouring them myself. Service was slow, no lights on our bottles and the waitress didn’t pour drinks. To top all of that there’s an auto grat for 20%. Why am I paying 20% gratuity for TRASH service!? I greatly regret not leaving when the bottle took so long the 1st time because we spent way too much money to not be met with the bare minimum when ordering bottle service. I know i reviewed this place about a year ago. When i did, the name was Whiskey Blue but as at Tuesday September 20th, this place is no longer called Whiskey Blue. The name has changed to Rose & Rye. Nothing else has changed..This Bar/Lounge is really all about the location and ambience. The views are amazing and the venue itself is beautiful. Very well laid out and clean. To be honest, I was there on a Tuesday night and can't definitively tell how packed it gets on the weekends. The day I was there, it wasn't packed at all, and I liked it.

Let's talk about the food/drinks. The food here is very reasonably priced especially for a place that nice and the location it's at. Although the wings we ordered was hard or maybe it was overcooked. But again, I can't complain much because it wasn't expensive.

The drinks here aren't special. They are your regular drinks you'd find at bars and lounges. There aren't much specialty drinks.

Parking in Buckhead can be a nightmare, so you may be better off doing valet at the hotel. On the Tuesday night I went, I was charged $22 to park. The servers were overall good. There were a few times I felt one of the servers was rude.

Will I go back? Yes, I will definitely go back to this spot and maybe this time around, I'll go on a Friday or Saturday.
