This newly built, beautifully designed hotel is in a great location, easily accessible, with ample parking and nice landscaping. Checking in was quick, the room was setup with two cribs as requested. All this made this hotel looked very promising, But as soon as we have entered the room, disappointment started to kick in - it was very obvious that the floor has not been vacuumed, and a lot of dust could be seen in nooks and crannies of the spacious, bright, room we were given. Marble countertop at sink in front the bathroom had quite large sticky stain, bathtub didn't look very clean either. Next morning we went for the breakfast and first faced the issue of not being able to sit with our 2yo twins a the normalized table, only spots at the bar height table were available which is not an option when having two toddlers. While waiting for one of the regular tables, I have requested two high chairs, only to get one, whuch was BTW quite dirty. After asking the second one I was told that they have only a few and that the other were in use. When looking around the dining room we could see only one more high chair being used, while at least 5-6 other kids could have used it. The lack of sufficient number of high chairs definitely doesn't make it easy to enjoy the breakfast. While there is a good variety of breakfast items, the food is of very mediocre quality. Muffins were dry, but greasy and crumbly. Mini cinnamon buns were stale, waffles were chewy. Egg omelet didn't taste like eggs, sausage patties were too spicy to be given to a child. Fruits and yogurt were OK. Since one of my kiddos didn't have the high chair. He wondered behind the sofa bench and found dried and cracked whole egg shell and paper plate behind it. We were not pleased with the cleansines of the chairs and sofas we were sitting on either. After breakfast we went to the indoor swimming pool, but the pool itself hasn't been cleaned for a while as we could see that parts of the rules inside the pool, which were not touch the water were covered in a grimy slimy grayish layer of impurities of unknown origin. We have also noticed that the hallways and then stairwell haven't been vacuumed in a while. After taking a nap we have requested for the room to be vacuumed and dusted, as room service was not done in the morning. Upon our return we have noticed that they vacuumed it, but there was still dusty surfaces which any toddler will find, and then will stick their fingers into their mouths. I have told them that I didn't care about beds being made, but didn't think they would need an explicit request to take the garbage out, which was overflowing with soiled diapers. So we ended up taking the garbage out ourselves, and the garbage dumping area was also disgusting. Advice to management is to tighten up and start monitoring cleanliness more closely, as I'm pretty sure that soon they will start loosing customers. I'm pretty sure we won't be back unless we hear that cleanliness have been improved and that food served is of...
Read moreThe customer service is the sole reason I’m rating this hotel a generous 2, otherwise 0 would have been a more appropriate option. That being said, Jessie at the front desk was the wonderful individual who checked me in. She was very kind and efficient and made the entire process welcoming and quite pleasant. Great customer service!
Aside from that, my stay here was not restful or remotely enjoyable due to the hotel’s extremely poor sound insulation. The occupants in the room above mine weren’t necessarily doing anything rambunctious as all I heard were foot steps and what seemed to be placement of things onto countertops, etc. But it was certainly disruptive. For me to be able to hear people placing things on countertops in the room above mine is unacceptable and a clear red flag about the faulty acoustics and overall building’s construction.
Additionally, I was able to hear word for word, the conversations of passing occupants in the hall... terrible! Mind you, there are other reviewers who’ve forewarned about the disruptive noise. Should have taken note instead of experiencing firsthand!
Lastly, the room I was in had a strange odor to it... something reminiscent of what occurs when there is no proper air circulation for quite some time. I attempted to “get the air flowing” by turning on the heating/cooling unit but it’s very old and also very noisy as well so it was almost unbearable addition to have on while trying to go to get some rest!
Meh... what am I to expect anyway as it is a Hamptons Inn after all...? But for the price I paid, this stay in particular makes me cringe. If noise is no bother to you, go for it I guess? If you don’t mind strange smells as well, have at it...? But if “fresh air,” peace and quiet is what you’re looking for, this place is certainly not...
Read moreWARNING: An Unsafe Hotel Experience!
I always take precautions when staying at a hotel, such as setting up security cameras to safeguard my valuables. I also make it a point to hang the "do not disturb" sign on my door. However, during a recent outing with friends, I received a startling alert indicating that someone had entered my room. I immediately checked the footage and was appalled to witness an outside contractor entering my room unaccompanied, nonchalantly pushing my shoes aside, conducting some tests, and then exiting.
When I brought this unsettling incident to the attention of the hotel managers, their response was deeply unsettling. Their only explanation was, "Sorry, we forgot to inform you that someone would be entering your room today. We had a notice taped to the desk in the lobby (a location I rarely pass by since my room is at the opposite end of the building). If it makes you feel any better, we trust him not to steal."
I am utterly astonished that this hotel would grant access to individuals not affiliated with their staff to every room throughout the entire building. This blatant disregard for guest security is unacceptable.
Moreover, the state of the hotel room itself was deplorable. The walls were marred with unsightly stains, remnants of trash were strewn across the floor from previous occupants, and to add to the inconvenience, there was no shampoo or body wash left in the dispensers.
In conclusion, I strongly caution against choosing this hotel for your stay. It not only lacks basic security measures but also fails to maintain a minimum standard of cleanliness and guest comfort. Your safety and peace of mind should be a priority when selecting accommodation, and this hotel falls far short of that...
