Went here during business lunch hour on a Friday. The place was Slammed, the seating and standing room were full, but the person taking my order was cool as a cucumber. He took my order without a name and I stood in line with the rest of the folks. There was about 5 people ahead of me and like 15 people waiting to order. They took orders as fast as they got them out, From placing my order to receiving it took about 10min. NOT BAD and they were cooking things fresh! I ordered a Fish sandwich with tarter and fries. TOTAL = $9.50; HOLY MOLY! THATS A BARGAIN! SOLID chunk of fried fish and a good portion of fries. Fish was tender and flacky and the tartar sauce was excellent and tasted home made. The fries were crispy and for a work lunch I was really pleased.

Everyone knows about the chili, but the really slept on Cincinnati food specialty is the double decker sandwich, and this place does them right. Its been around forever (I remember when it had a smoking section) and hasn't changed one thing in the time I've been going there. Definitely bring someone from out of town here and watch them try to figure out how to eat one of the sandwiches without unhinging their jaw. The food is exactly what you'd expect with a place with this many Formica tables, and the service is fantastic.

I have lived in downtown Cincinnati for over 7 years and just visited Red Fox Grill for the first time. I was intrigued by its sandwich menu and the low cost. I ordered a roast beef and turkey sandwich on wheat. The bread is toasted with huge helpings of roast beef and turkey. The taste of the sandwich is outstanding! The cost of this order is $8.50. many places give less for more. This is a cash only place so that probably helps keep the cost down. Service is friendly and prompt. Highly recommend.

The amount of food you get and how much you pay is insane. It is such a massive amount. We were blown away. It was our first time there. We ate in. The waitress was a little uncomfortable. She had a sour attitude. It was clear it was our first time, and she was so impatient. There were so many open seats, but you could tell she was annoyed we took our time. The table was slick. As if it had grease on it. She totally snapped at us for trying each other's food. I tried one of my child's fries. And my daughter ate a few chips. And the waitress came marching over to inform us there is absolutely no sharing meals. Who can tell me I can't eat one of my child's fries that I'm paying for. She stood by the fountain drink station and watched us. We left a 5 dollar tip on a 19 dollar bill. And you could tell she was mad as if she deserved more for babysitting us while we ate. But didn't fill up drinks. Even after we asked.

The ceiling is gross as can be. But man...... the meal was delicious, even if it felt like we were in jail being watched as we took each bite.

Would we return. Yes. But would we...

I have been patronizing this establishment for over 40 years. When I first started going there the husband and wife ran the business. They were phenomenal. I actually left my job downtown and had not been there for at least 10 plus years. I phoned in a carry out order and his wife always answered the phone and when I said that I needed to place an order, she politely asked is this Clark? I just about fell over as it had been over 10 years since I had been there. They are an amazing family and I can also say that in my over 40 years of going there, they have never messed up my food order. The double deckers are out of this world And who cares that they don’t take credit cards, just carry cash. I absolutely love this place...
