Read moreMy girlfriend and I decided to come here when we were visiting the Cincinnati Music Hall for a ballet. There is a surface parking lot right next door and we parked in there for $20. There may have been some street parking near it but it looked like it may be hard to come by. We were greeted immediately when we walked in and the hostess was friendly and chit-chatted as we walked to the table.
Caitlin, our waitress came to the table promptly to take our drink order. I ordered a drink called a beautiful reciprocal agreement or ABRA for short. The drink was bourbon, brandy, lillet blanc, Amaro, maraschino, orange bitters, it was a boozy one but good. My friend ordered the Queen's Crown and if you like fizzy sweet drinks this was very good!
For our starters we ordered the duck fat hummus and also the onion soup dumplings. Neither one of us cared too much for the duck fat hummus as it was sort of heavy and just not our thing. The onion soup dumplings were delicious.
For dinner I ordered the steak and frites. My friend ordered the mushroom capellini. Both of our dishes were very good. My steak was cooked perfectly, a medium rare. There was a mountain of frites, I did not eat all of them. The sauce that was served on the side to dip them in was just okay nothing spectacular.
I did order another drink, I do not remember the name of it, it was pretty and tasty.
Caitlin was an excellent waitress. This is a pretty loud restaurant because of the high ceilings and we were also right next to the kitchen. All in all though it was a nice place to...
Read moreDelicious food and great service. A bit loud at times but overall a great experience. Our table started off with some drinks. The GBS was very refreshing with a zesty taste with the lemon and basil. I was told the Bloody Mary was a bit on the spicy side a little more zest was expected but it grew on them. The presentation of both drinks and some mimosas at the other end of the table were all very good.
It took a little time for the food but "my oh my" was it worth the wait. Every bite was deelish ... my wife and I split the CRG omelet and the Baked French Toast. For the omelet, we chose the Maple Sausage. Cooked to perfection, the taste of the eggs and sausage folded onto the goat cheese was a fantastic combination. And the crispy potatoes on the side were soft and hot on the inside and crispy/crunchy on the outside without being too greasy or dry.
The Baked French Toast could have been brought out later as a dessert but it worked out for a sweet and mix. It came with thinly sliced apples layered all over with a giant scoop of gelato to top it off. The gelato was half melted by the time it came to us and was so big, it slightly overpowered the rest. But the TASTE!! I seriously loved every bite. It was a work of art that completely satisfied the palette. Taste-wise, nothing was overpowering but worked seamlessly to bring out the flavors of each element. I could not see the Nutella in it but it blended so well with the cinnamon Apple Foster.
Great vibe. Great taste....
