Dat Burrito Place — Restaurant in Florida

We have come here during the opening week(locals of Destin). Now that they've been open for a while, this will be our new local to go-too! I did not take any pictures. I did not even think about it because the food looked so good!

As you walk in, it is bright and light! Open seating, a bar for your salsa, and drinks self-serve! The place is so clean! I would not hesitate to eat here dining in! We ordered to go and they were fast! I love that this place is affordable for a family of four!!!!! I'm craving the taco salad already, lol. It was amazing! I got my husband the steak burrito, and by the time I sat down to eat, he had eaten the whole thing! Our son loved the French fries. Our son is picky and he said they were the best fries he's ever had! The salsa and spicy quac are so good! Im very picky about my salsa and hot sauce! My husband loved the pickled onions? At the salsa bar!

My only complaint is I wish they had frozen chicken nuggets for kids 😂. One of our sons does not like anything but chicken nuggets. But that's okay we will still come here a lot! Thank you for preparing such a good meal after a long day! See ya'll again very soon!

We went to Dat twice and enjoyed the food since we are Socal and San Antonio taco shop patrons who now live here. Then we tried take out. The first time we called once and there was no answer, but got through the second call. When we showed up we had to wait in line with the walk in customers to pay and get our order. We did not appreciate waiting twice, but that was the policy, so okay The next time we called the phone was not answered and it went to voicemail 3 times. We stopped in and were told that when it's noisy they can't hear the phone, and if it's busy they just don't answer it. They also do not check any messages. They made no apology, had no concern about service, and obviously had no intent to improve. They acted perturbed that it mattered to us. Instead of ordering we left, called Pepito's from the car and our order was ready when we got there. We will not return to Dat. Hopefully these people will get the message that if a food establishment doesn't provide consistent reasonable service, locals will not show up, and it will just go the way of so many others. We had a great experience at Dat Burrito Place 5 days ago. The food is spectacular AND vegetarian friendly, and the portions are HUGE. We're from San Diego, so we normally don't eat Mexican outside of CA, but we decided to chance it due to the great reviews. And we were NOT disappointed!

For vegetarians, they have a fairly good-size vegetarian menu. Def check Dat Burrito Place out if you're vegetarian! We were very happy with the veg options, and we will be going back next time we're in the Destin area.

They have a salsa bar, which is always nice to have in a Mexican place.

I don't know if the CC prices were different from the prices on the board, but all I know is the prices were still reasonable, and the portions are so big you don't need to order as much food. I struggled to finish my vegetarian taco salad, and my wife only finished half of her vegetarian quesadilla, which TBH is not flat, it's round...
