My family and I are in Destin for a baseball tournament and decided to grab a bite to eat at this RnR Sushi and let me tell you, I've never had poorer service in my entire life. Upon walking in, 2 servers immediately saw us but no acknowledgement. The sign says grab a seat so no big deal, we seat ourselves but still no "hey welcome in, we'll be right with you". 15 minutes we sat with 3 servers passing us as they work the (1/4 full dining room). Still, no "hey guys give us just a moment and we'll get you taken care of", NOTHING. The servers would stop and talk and stare out over the floor giggling and laughing at customers and I'm 99% sure one of the servers was high as a kite. At the 15 minute mark, we started looking on Google for other restaurants, and it wasn't until we were actively leaving that the same waiter who had been passing us every couple of minutes comes up to us (as we are actively walking to the exit) and says "well I was just about to come take your order" to which we said "too late bud". I would have waited for food and drinks if only someone would have acknowledged my family. We are from Pensacola and have sub par service at our RnR Sushi but I would still consider that to be leagues ahead of what we experienced at this one. We went to Jackacudas and spent our $150 there and will just do that again next time. That's what I get for trying to spend money at a Sushi place in a strip mall with strobe lights and...
Read moreGreat food marred by difficulty ordering, maskless staff, and downright rude server.
Tried to order takeout but key menu items were missing from online ordering system. Had 5 bars, but website was extremely slow to the point of being unusable.
Called to order, and was placed on hold for 5 minutes. Hung up and called back and got a busy signal.
Went in to order. Maskless server (March 22, 2021) told me several times that she was the only one working. She also told people who called, quite rudely.
She said it would be 20-25 minutes and I told her which car was ours. She seemed offended and clarified that it was takeout, not curbside. Ok then.
Food was ready when I returned for it; asked for silverware, and had to ask four times to obtain 4 sets rather than chopsticks, 2 sets, 3 sets, or the chopsticks I was offered a 2nd time.
(Thanks for the attempted shaming, but this is Rock n Roll Sushi and you aren’t the one who has to clean my car, so we’re going with forks, thanks.)
Food was great, but one kids’ meal was missing fries. Server pointed out that I had ordered a hibachi kid’s meal, which doesn’t come with fries. No, the other one that you personally rang up.
Food itself was great. This was also our experience at the Little Rock location—great food, but apparently very understaffed and...
Read moreAfter trying it for the first time I found the sushi to be mediocre at best. The lobster in my "sharp dressed roll" was rubbery and the roll in general did not offer much flavor. My "jam sesh roll" was described as topped with red tuna and crab stick. I expected it to be topped with both not a few pieces with one and a few with others. The pieces of Eel on my Nigari were rather small. Quite honestly I don't believe the spicy mayo or eel sauce was ever put on these rolls as they were rather bland. Worse was customer service. I asked to speak to a manager and instead had to speak with the lead something or another. When I explained how I felt, she told me she thought my meal looked good. I didn't recall asking nor would I base my opinion off what she thought MY meal looked like. Instead of taking the bull by the horn and making things right or offering a remake, I was instead asked "What would you like us to do about it?" I suggested a free roll or something similar the next time but was told all they would do was a 10% discount on my next order. That's doesn't even make it worth my time to try again and use the gas getting there. This is sushi for the masses without bold flavors as not to upset someone's pallet. Doubt I will return or try the one in Gulf Breeze after...
