I wanted to give 5 stars to the great food and two amazing employees. But dI didn't know what to do because I had two incidents on the same day. The first was when we sat at the table. We were a total of 8 people, 4 adults and 4 children, and the waiter directed us to two tables that were already together. After a little time, a waiter who was not the one who would take our order comes and tells us that we would be more comfortable if we moved further to the left as we would fit better there. (He was Hispanic like us and speaking our language)We replied that we were fine, thank you, but he insisted, "yes, hou will be more comfortable at the other table," I replied, "we can move a little more but I think we're fine." We were using both tables but not completely both. Then he said , no, will be better if you move to the other table because it is a little longer. He was pushing us and at the same time he wanted it to sound like he was looking for our comfort. So, we move to fit the 8 of us on one table and he separated the small table. The way that he acted was pushy and demanding, we didn't put the tables together and if he was looking to have more tables available for more customers, he just needed to ask politely like, "could you please move to the other table, I want to have more tables available for future customers, I am sure that, that will make more sense for us than like he was looking for our comfort. Our waiter deliver a great service and the food delicious and savory.
The 2nd incident was on the gift shop, I After finishing eating, we decided to take a look to the gift shop and buy some things for my kids and clothing. I had some leftover food and I was carrying a Togo container which I put on an small shelf for a moment to be able to see the size of a sweater that I wanted to buy for my mom and a dress that I wanted for me. The container was not touching any of the items or on top of any item, and I was going to put it just for a moment because I didn't want to put my food in the floor either, So a lady came and ask loud who's is this food? And I answered mine!! II said I am sorry, I only put it for a moment so I could look at the clothes and buy my mom a sweater, then she just said here's your food, if you hadn't answered your food would have been thrown away, like she didn't hear what I said and left. My eldest daughter told me mom, don't pay any attention to her, you really liked the sweater and the dresses, buy them and ignore her a,d I no longer felt comfortable in the gift shop and I told my daughter that I wouldn't buy anything anymore because I had the container and She had my two granddaughters to take care of, when I was heading outside another of the salewomen came up to me and said, is everything okay? how can I help you? I answered yes, everything is fine, thank you, then she told me, can I offer you a bag for your Togo container? We have several clothes on sale! I answered that I really liked a sweater for my mom and some dresses. She was very kind and took the togo box from me and put it in a bag, and she told me here it is, this will help you see the clothes, and she was very efficient nd Tell me about prices and show me options. overall in the restaurant the food is delicious and tasty and our waiter made us forget the bad time the man gave us, and in the gift shop, the saleswoman who was able to see a problem and solve it easily. Her excellent customer service helps yo herr company bring profits. I bought the sweater I wanted for my mom and a dress for me and candy...
Read moreMight be done with the franchise as a whole after this latest experience. Unfortunate, since it's a family road trip favorite. Asked for a table to seat 9. There was clamoring between 3 different hosts about where to place our party. The result was two separate tables not touching. A few minutes later, after accepting the bizarre seating arrangement, we learned that although I could turn around in my seat and place my hand on my wife's shoulder, we were in fact seated in two different sections, with 2 different servers. One server was mildly aggressive at my wife's table and would not allow customizations to their orders. Our server was more kind but did not allow us to order anything but breakfast (at 10:40 am) and brought me cold coffee.
As we desperately tried to make the best of this awful dining experience, all around us, tables were being reconfigured for parties from 8 people up to 14 people. Why were we treated so poorly and deliberately split up when it's clear they have the capability to seat large parties? After ordering our food, we learned from another staff member that we could have ordered any fried food even if not on the breakfast menu. That would have been good to know for our child who rejected his pancakes but would have tore up some chicken strips and fries.
The servers we had were mid and deserving of 3.5-4 stars, but it's clear the host folks are daft beyond belief. They ruined our experience here and deserve zero stars. The food was pretty good overall which helped bring the .5 star rating to a 2... Maybe 2.5. But again, it really doesn't matter because my children, wife and brother-in-law agreed that we're done with the Cracker Barrel chain moving forward.
Recommendation: be on guard when you ask for seating regardless of party size. I would not want anyone else to have the rug ripped out from under them. Or, keep driving. There are plenty of options in Kissimmee and the...
Read moreThis was the most absolutely unsatisfying trip to Cracker Barrel. Upon sitting down, our sever took 12 minutes to greet us. Not even a full greeting, complete rushed and walked away without taking our drink order. From there we waited another 7 minutes before he came back and took our drink order all while subtly but not subtly pressuring us to order our whole meal right then. In the whole 28 minutes it took us to bring us our appetizer, the 2 tables that sat after us received their appetizer and entrees in a timely manner. He brought us our appetizer along with our entire meal, completely disregarding the fact that our entire party of 3 had empty cups. The turkey platter, my partner order was dry and was missing gravy. It took him an additional 15 minutes to come by and refill our drinks and ask about our meal. He gave my partner a watery gravy that looked more like soup and proceeded to disappear. He came back with the incorrect drink order for me, to which I didn’t bother to even correct because I knew it was moot. At the end of our dinner, it took 10 more minutes just to get ONE to go box! I would normally understand if it was a busy night but it was fairly empty. Our server had 3 tables including us, and the entire meal was dry. The portions were tiny, our appetizer was small. There were 6 White Cheddar Bites in the whole basket. Each bite was smaller than a newborns thumb. The 2 other tables left in such a timely manner that it truly felt he did not care about our table in the corner. He didn’t even acknowledge or apologize for the wait. If we had even seen one manager we would’ve spoken to them but we didn’t see any until we were checking out and the cashier called him over the radio, but he didn’t care. He looked up and turned around and walked away. I wish there was a less than one star option. All in all, the only thing that was good at this Cracker Barrel was the...
