Back story, ive been a caregiver giver for the elderly for years so after the passing of my last live in resident the end of June I decided to take some me time for myself in my happy place! After first finding Carr's Cottages on a booking site for a couple nights away, the first time I'd had an over night trip in over 16 months, I booked my first ever stay at Carr's! That was in July and I absolutely loved it here! I brought my Aunt and best friend! From the comfy beds, clean rooms and friendly staff and even seeing bears on the property was a huge bonus! Next stay was with my son, we had a blast and stayed in a room overlooking the beautiful river and hearing the water was absolutely what I needed! Again different room but was super clean and super friendly staff!! Next trip was with my aunt n uncle and stayed in same room as last trip and they absolutely loved the room, the balcony and seeing bear again too!! The trip this weekend i just returned from was with 3 elderly ladies, 76, 81 and 89 for a fun freinds trip for the 89 year old bday get away! Finding a cottage with a wheel chair ramp and 2 recliners as 2 of them dont lay or sleep on a bed I thought would be challenging but was super easy, we stayed in cottage 415 and they couldn't have been any happier anywhere else!! And trust me making 3 elderly ladies comfy and happy with no complaints isnt always the easiest thing to do!! Mission complete tho, the 89 year old said best birthday trip to date, and thats 89 years old y'all so that says alot. We stayed in most meals and played games and rode thru the motor fork trail each day seeing beautiful scenery and bears as well! The house keeper Cella was amazing this trip, even bringing my sweet lil ladies some mayonnaise for their tomato sandwich after she got off work one day, because the ladies thought the price was too high at the store to pay. Lol all the rooms are REALLY clean and tidy and kitchen was well equipped for all we needed and food we brought to make for us. The owner was super friendly as well and spoke with on a couple of the trips the past 2 months and was very accommodating to what ive needed! The 2 guys at the desk, CJ and Torique were hands down super helpful and friendly, one of them even telling me I need to stay away from the office (jokingly of course laughing at me because i book my next trip before i leave each time)because I love coming to the Great Smoky Mtns so much!!! So in the last 8 weeks ive stayed here at Carr's Cottages 4 trips now, and have already booked a trip to bring my grands back next month, my 3 lil elderly ladies back in Oct to see the leaves and will bring my sweet hubby who's not been with me yet due to working back with me for my birthday in Nov!! With all that said, Carr's has been absolutely amazing staying at and booking with them directly was much easier than the booking site I used the first trip only to have the owner upgrade us when we checked in to a more accommodating room for my best friend with back issues needing a recliner as well! Thanks again Carr's Cottages for some absolutely amazing memories so far this summer and so excited for the trips to come as well!!

I'm a big fan of Tennessee, more specifically the Great Smoky Mountains. I knew that when I took my next vacation, I'd be heading back to Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, Sevierville, and the Great Smoky Mountains. Unfortunately, my first two nights, I ended up staying in two different hotels and they were an absolute disaster. I decided I was going to spend one more night in Gatlinburg and then head elsewhere in Tennessee. Thankfully, a kind stranger suggested that I give Carr's Northside Hotel and Cottages a try. I decided to book one night only, based on the fact that my first two nights were disasters at two different hotels. I've stayed in a lot of hotels, a lot of motels, a lot of cottages. I've done a lot of traveling in my life I don't need all the fancy bells and whistles, I just want something that's clean, something that doesn't look like a prison or an asylum, something that feels comfy has character and ambience. Carr's has all that and more. It's quaint, charming, every staff member I spoke to was super friendly and helpful. I believe at one point I even spoke to the owner and he was really nice too. Instead of staying for just one night I stayed for three nights, I prolonged my stay and changed my entire vacation, to stay here. My cabin had a balcony, which overlooks the beautiful surroundings. My cabin had a comfortable bed, nice TV, a microwave, a fridge, and most importantly a coffee maker. I was surprised to see that this place also had a great pool and an awesome hot tub, and laundry facilities. You have to understand, I drive straight from South Florida to Tennessee. I will never ever go to another place other than Carr's. Thank you for giving me a place to stay and relax on vacation.

Stayed in Cottage 501. Here are the pros: It was a good deal for the three days we stayed. Having the full kitchen was a good bonus as food options were ridiculously expensive in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Two separate bedrooms were nice with two kids. The patio was awesome with a view of the creek. Here's the not so good: Rooms were in okay shape with broken blinds, thermostats that didn't work on the heaters, and uneven floors. The beds were also a little uncomfortable. 501 is downstairs, and our upstairs neighbor could be heard with their kids running around until 2am. Not cool! Also, someone left their ashtray and half smoke cigarettes on the patio. Also not cool! Now a big issue i brought up on the morning of checkout: Our cottage had a fireplace which worked the first day, the second day however, we arrived back with a distinct gassy smell to the room. I opened the doors and windows and called the office because the pilot went out, refused to relight, and when they could get it to light, the fireplace wouldn't light. The office rep called maintenance, and they got it going, but it suddenly went out again 20 minutes after he left. I shut off the valve and didn't think about it. Third night, I think there was a small gas leak as both my wife and I felt very lightheaded and dizzy when laying in bed. I ended up putting a wet washcloth over the valve and pilot that was no longer lit and cracked the patio door open for airflow. The dizziness and light-headed feeling went away shortly after that.

Perfect place for my family to stay. We were sad to leave but are already planning to come back and stay at Carr’s again! The room was great! It was overlooking the stream and we spent a lot of time outside on the deck. They have chairs, fairy lights, grills and fire pits outside by the creek also which was a nice touch. The location of Carr’s was great also. It was far enough away from the main strip that we didn’t have to deal to all the noise and chaos but yet we could still walk to the main strip and not have to pay for parking. I will say that my family enjoys walking but if your not up to walking a mile-two miles then you might want to drive downtown or catch the trolley. We did get super tired walking back from the strip but that was after we spent 5 hours walking around, dealing with the crowds and in 95 degree heat. We went back at night and early morning and found the walk much easier and more pleasant. The pool was nice but I wish they had more shade around the pool. All the staff were extremely helpful and polite. The rooms were clean and looked much better in person than online. The in room coffee was good though I do wish we could have gotten a larger cup at 6am than what was available in our room. It would have been nice if the office had been open so we could have enjoyed a normal sized cup of coffee, but I’m sure we could have asked for extra in room coffee and cups for the next morning if we were staying another night. The only thing that was disappointing were the beds. They were pretty stiff but hotels aren’t known for having soft beds anyway. - Thank you Carr’s for giving my family a wonderful experience! We will...
