We stayed during the eclipse, which was obviously a high traffic time and the staff seemed shorthanded. All that being said, probably our worst hotel experience ever. First, my reservation was made through their web site (not a 3rd party like Expedia, etc). Paperwork said check in time was 1pm. Showed up at 1:30pm and walked in to find an unmanned desk with a note taped to the counter that check-ins weren't until 3:00pm. Fortunately, it's an area with plenty around so we went for a sit down lunch. At check-in, I was told they called everyone the night before to let them know about the late check-in. I didn't receive a phone call. Later that day, I found that they did send an email at 6:30am that day. No message in the email itself, but once I opened the attached room reservation, "check-in time at 3:00pm" was highlighted in yellow. A minor inconvenience, but we have never experienced that elsewhere. Then at check-in, after they explained where my room was, I realized I wouldn't have a balcony/patio. I specifically booked a room with that feature. They said the way the reservation came over, that wasn't clear to them so they had cleaned a different room for me. I showed my reservation confirmation, booked through their web site, and it clearly showed "room with balcony." They didn't have any available. I pressed a bit more. Then I was told they could give me one but it'd take another hour to two hours to clean it. I said that was fine; we wanted a balcony--that's why we booked it. So, off to keep busy again waiting to check-in. They did call in about an hour and said the room was ready. The room itself is difficult to describe. It is like a one bedroom apartment. We were thankful for the full kitchen. But, the priorities seem off for a place that boasts it's like your second home. There's a washer and dryer but only one end table in the bedroom. There's a dishwasher but the living room lacks a coffee table. The living room was very large but hard to get comfortable in. Probably the worst part of our stay (not to mention the strong smell of pot every time we were out in the hallway) was the noise. The kitchen/living floors are like a fake wood flooring. Apparently the people above us had the same because we think they had a toddler in a walker. There was a constant sound of what we can only assume was rolling back and forth across the floor, walking in heels, a dog whing and barking, etc. This went on for hours and hours. We didn't hear neighbors on either side of us, but above was terrible--like there isn't enough "cushion" in between guests. Neither of us slept well. And, the front desk being unmanned too often is also a concern. We definitely will choose a different hotel if we're ever back...
Read moreThis hotel is four stories tall, and they’ve been open about four months; friendly and very helpful manager named Summer was at check-in; large elevator; wide, well-lit hallways with low nap carpet (easy to roll suitcase). Stayed in room 313 (which looked out on the parking lot) for one night. All the expected traditional amenities. In addition, because there’s a kitchen, there is also dinnerware and utensils. Very minor drawbacks: There’s an iron, but no ironing board. No phone in the room to call the front desk. Walls are somewhat thin. Close to the highway so very convenient but very light sleepers might want to request a room on the far SE corner. Things I really like: no carpet in the room; a code at the door ( instead of a key); large well lit parking lot; well stocked sundry shop near entry with some food items and necessities; black out shade at the window; comfortable bed with plenty of pillows; great water pressure in shower; guest laundry (takes quarters, $1.50 each to wash & dry, bring your own soap); TV had settings for music and nature sounds (nice to go to sleep to); close to many restaurants, gas stations, and grocery stores. Price is good. Highly recommend and I would definitely...
Read moreMy wife and I stayed at The Nest while visiting family. The hotel was very clean. We had a King bedroom on the 3rd floor. There was a fold out couch, dresser, large TV with cable, writing table and chair, kitchen area, and walk in shower in bathroom. The kitchen area had a 2 burner flat top to cook on, microwave, sink, full sized refrigerator, and cabinets that had plates, cups, and utensils. There was dish soap and sponge, bathroom was supplied with soap, mini shampoo and conditioner, and hair dryer. There is no carpet in the room, bed was comfortable and firm. The hotel is next to the interstate and some traffic noise was noticed but not too loud. People in room above us had heavy feet that was noticeable a very few times. The layout of our room had the bed right next to the ac, and it blows over the bed. The Nest doesn't have a lobby, per se, there are no seating areas. They have an exercise room with some machines. The self parking lot is well lit at night. We felt safe while staying here. There are plenty of stores and restaurants nearby. This hotel isn't flashy and doesn't try to be. It was a nice, clean, and comfortable stay. We would definitely recommend...
