We arrived after the end of the dinner hour, and were greeted and seated immediately. However, I am disabled, don't walk well but with a cane, and generally am seated fairly close to the entrance by attentive hostesses. In passing by several tables between the front door and the one we were seated at the far side of the building, most of the empty tables were dirty, with no sign of anyone attempting to bus them. It wasnt particularly busy at all, and I didn't observe anyone making much of an effort to clear them even of the dirty dishes, much less setting them up again for new customers. I dont know what their staffing level was at the time, but I did notice many heads bobbing around in the kitchen, having rather loud conversations with a cook, who was promising to make some of them fried macaroni and cheese. We were, however waited on by a friendly, knowledgeable waitress, who took our drink order right away, and returned with them immediately. When taking our food order, she was spot on with all her questions regarding our choices of entree and side dishes, not missing a trick. When our order came to the table, it was hot, and fairly well prepared. My macaroni and cheese was rather runny though, and the biscuits revealed their age from waiting in the warmer. She did provide the "real" butter I had requested for them, even though it wasn't normally served for dinner bread. My husband's meal was nicely done. She checked on us a couple of times before delivering the check, and provided to-go containers as requested for the portion of the meal I was unable to finish. Relatively pleasant experience overall. Doing something about so many dirty tables in view as we had to walk to the other side of the building to be seated would have been...
Read moremy family and I went to Bob Evans on Wednesday June 18th 2014...we went at dinner time and when we walked in it was not busy yet...the hostess took us to our table....there was 5 of us and she took us to the corner in the little atrium room...wich was great because there was only 3-4 other people back there. So we looked at our menus and after about 5 min i was looking around to see if I could see a server to take our drink orders....I did not see any around us and no one acted like we were seated there....so after about 5 more minutes, they seated 3 more people back there and they immediatly had a server there taking there drink orders...so as I was looking around I could see in the kitchen and there was 3-4 servers standing in the door way looking our way but no one would come out and take our order....so I collected my family and we left....as I was walking out the door I told the hostess that had seated us that no one ever came to take our orders,,,she immediatley yelled to the the back a girls name and wanted to know what she was doing....well my daughter and her boyfriend was with us and she tells me that the girl they yelled for was a girl she was friends with and the reason that she would not come to take our orders was because she didnt want to wait on us because of my daughter and her boyfriend...that was very unprofessional and uncalled for....I like Bob Evans but I am not sure that I will return there because if she was that unprofessional what are the rest of the servers like....will we be singled out again....no...
Read moreWe stopped in on our way back home to Nevada traveling from Ohio. Bob Evans usually has some amazing food and service. This time was a total 180 from our usual experiences. Dad ordered a bacon cheeseburger. It was dry as dry can be, the bacon was far beyond crispy and all our fries were well over done. Mom had thr BLT, usually it's cut in half but her butter knife was able to do thr job because her bacon too was far over done. I had chicken tenders, thry were fine, not the worst I've had but surely not the best either. I could. Clearly see that my carrots were at one time next to mashed potatoes too. I chose to believe my plate was mistakenly plated with mashed potatoes and not the carrots being reused from other returned plates. My biscuits were salty as the sea. Service needs a huge upgrade as well. We were seated and drinks brought quick enough but it took roughly half hour to get our meals. Felt like out of towners were not at all welcomed as others arrived and were served rather quickly. Needless to say, this stop soured our enjoyment...
