We stopped at this Panera during a road trip and placed a mobile order ahead of time. The food was great—fresh and exactly what we expected. Unfortunately, the drive-through service was disappointing and left a bad impression.
When placing the order, we chose inside pickup simply because we didn’t know this location even had a drive-through. Once we arrived and saw it, we thought it would be more convenient to just go through the drive-through instead. But the woman at the window snapped at us, saying the order was set for inside pickup. There was no sign or clear instruction, and as visitors unfamiliar with the area, the rude tone felt completely unnecessary. She gave us order order but not without attitude.
There was also a mix-up with our coffee order. The app showed a photo of iced coffee, so we thought that’s what we were getting. It turned out to be hot—which was our mistake—but when we asked about it, we were met with more attitude and zero effort to help or offer a solution.
The staff at this location could really benefit from a course in customer service. If you don’t like dealing with people, then maybe a customer-facing role isn’t the right fit. We weren’t asking for anything unreasonable—just a little patience and respect while picking up food we had...
Read moreUmmmm…I’m not sure what just happened. Possible discrimination? I suppose I will let y’all decide: my wife and I, along with our toddler, stopped in for dinner on our way back home to KC, coming from Ohio.
The person who took my order was great but a new person—a woman and I believe she was a manager or shift leader—came in as we were finishing up. There were 5 tables with folks and ours, smack dab in the middle. This woman went around to each and every table and asked each party how the food was and if they needed anything. Every single table but ours. I hate to call discrimination but it really felt that way. My wife and son were the only people of color in the restaurant. I went up to her before we left and asked why she didn’t stop at our table. She said she didn’t want to interrupt our time with our son…but there were other kids in there and we also watched her interrupt a conversation between a couple to ask how their meal was. She did apologize when I pointed out to her what it looked like but it just didn’t...
Read moreWell i frequent panera usually once a week. But that has ended for awhile.
Wife got chicken and wild rice a couple days ago. It tasted like cleaning prodict got in it or it was simmered with laytex gloves in it.
Today we got breakfast. My Asiago bagel clealry wasnt made right. Visually no cheese on top but a few specks. Had no asiago flavor . Asked for no garlic aioli, so of course it was smothered with it. We've looked past the odd mistake but as we do pick up i dont drive back to get a refund. (Defeats even picking up)
So after getting screwed consistently now were going to pass on panera for 6 months. Then revist to see if its improved.
Such a shame i used to enjoy our little food dates going there.
PS i stopped buying your sugar cookies when they were always out of stock. I guess making less creates demand? Waste a trip to get cookies no more! Just go anywhere else that wants...
