White House Hotel — Hotel in Hermann

The White House Hotel in Hermann, Missouri is a gem along the Missouri River. It is beautiful and historic and interesting. I stayed in the Heckman Suite on the third floor. The room had an amazing view of the river and the park across the street. The furnishings were antique and beautiful. I especially enjoyed the claw foot tub. Laurie was absolutely wonderful about communicating with me about my reservation. She greeted me at the door and gave me a tour of the hotel. She also put fresh flowers, fruit, and breakfast pastries in my room. Since the train tracks are close to the hotel, earplugs and a sound machine are provided. But I loved hearing the trains go by. The location of the hotel is perfect. It is just steps away from the Amtrak Station, restaurants, and shops. Since the rooms are on the 2nd and 3rd floors and there is no elevator, you must be able to navigate staircases. The White House Hotel and Laurie have my highest recommendation. This property is truly a one-of-a-kind experience. Not just a place to stay while visiting Hermann, but one of the highlights of our trip. Besides being luxurious, comfortable, and beautiful; the White House Hotel offers patrons the opportunity to step back into history while they walk throughout the gorgeously reconstructed 19th century hotel. Definitely allot time to walking throughout the grand hall, numerous rooms set up as they would have been when the hotel was first built, complete with historical and interesting information displays, and the underground speakeasy. On top of all the aspects of the property itself, Sable is an incredible host, whose care and enthusiasm really shines. She's delighted to share loads of history related to the hotel, give recommendations around town, and is also very responsive and helpful when checking in and during your stay. My mother and I recently had the opportunity visit the quaint town of Hermann and stay at the incomparable White House Hotel. From the moment we pulled up and set foot through the historic front doors, we knew were someplace special. Staying at this hotel is like traveling back in time to 1886, what a truly unique escape from the hustle and bustle of life. The hotel is right along the riverfront and easy walking distance to all of the shops and restaurants that downton Hermann has to offer. Sable, the hotel manager, is absolutely lovely and full of information and recommendations should you have any questions. Our room was beautiful, the bed was extremely comfortable and the en suite amenities were very spacious. I cannot recommend staying here anymore highly and cannot wait for my next opportunity to time travel and getaway to 1886 and the White...
