Our stay was horrible. This was the dirtiest hotel I’ve ever stayed in. The pull out bed was disgusting. It had stains all over it. When we arrived after midnight all we wanted to do was sleep. That wasn’t in the cards because there was no bedding for the pull out. I had to walk back down to get the bedding. When 5 people reserve a room I think it would be natural to use all the beds and supply our own bedding when I am overpaying anyway. When I went back up the room I decided I’d go grab some ice. I went to the machine and it didn’t work. I once again went back to the desk where I was told only the 2nd and 3rd floor worked. I told him I was on the second floor and no, it isn't working. But I would gladly go up to the third. I get up there and it wasn’t working either. I go back downstairs to ask if there is any other ice machine in the hotel and he said no and I’d have to wait for it to “regenerate”. I go back to the room (iceless) and decide to take a shower before bed. After waiting a while for the water to warm up in the half clean shower I almost fall because what looks like a shower mat isn’t actually a mat. It’s the stain outline of an old mat! I quickly take a shower in lukewarm water with no pressure. I open my first “clean towel” only to find a big brown stain. They only gave us 3 towels (again, I made it clear there would be five in a room so why not have 5 towels?). The beds and pillows are comfortable. The beds were also clean. The carpet, tables & lamps aren’t. The remote was missing the back and the batteries kept falling out. Saturday morning we decided to grab breakfast early. The B&G were good. The eggs were nasty. There was no meat option at all. Breakfast seemed pretty slim because the lady (extremely nice employee) explained that her truck wasn’t there yet and she was doing the best she could do on her own. Saturday I decided to sit in the pool. It was murky. When I first stepped out I felt a film on my skin. Saturday evening I could hear the whole conversation the people next to me were having and I assume they were with another set of guests down the hall because they ran back and forth slamming doors. I went back to see if the ice had “regenerated” and it had not. I go back downstairs and an employee asked if I needed some help and I explained what was told to me the prior night after midnight and she apologized for the misunderstanding of her staff but the only working machine was on the FOURTH floor. I got back to my room & had to ask the maid on duty for more towels and he apologized that I wasn’t given more. He was very helpful. The rest of my family arrived back at the hotel about 12 and everyone was exhausted. They tried to take showers. Only two got a lukewarm shower and the other two had to wait until morning because it just would not heat back up. We all did get a good nights sleep until 6am when a very loud alarm went off and woke us all. It didn’t seem like there was an emergency so we tried to go back to sleep for a while longer. When gave up & headed to breakfast. There was a lot more stocked, except for meat. When we were getting ready to leave my sons were downstairs in the lobby waiting and the lady at the front desk kept rudely asking what room they were checking out of and they said it was in their moms name and she was on her way down and she didn’t like that answer. She kept trying to stop them when my husband pulled the car up for them to go load. I arrived at the front desk and nobody asked how my stay was. I mentioned the alarm and she said their “water heater over heated and sometimes things like that just happen. Sorry.” She handed me my receipt (that I had to ask for) and told me thank you. $400 for two nights in a hotel that was disgustingly dirty is not my idea of great deal for a rewards member. The service was subpar except for the few nice people I encountered. I will never recommend this place to anyone and when we come back this summer we will not be staying here for sure.

Terrible Experience at Comfort Suites Southport, Indianapolis My family of five had an utterly disappointing stay at the Comfort Suites Southport in Indianapolis, and I feel compelled to share our experience to warn others. We booked a room expecting two queen beds and a pull-out couch, as advertised, to comfortably accommodate our family. What we encountered instead was a nightmare that ruined our trip. Upon arriving, the room seemed fine at first glance, but when we went to set up the pull-out couch for our kids, we were horrified to find a massive, gruesome stain on the mattress. It looked like someone had lost their life on it—dark, splotchy, and absolutely unacceptable for a hotel claiming to offer “comfort.” It was so bad that none of us felt safe letting our children sleep on it, or even sit on it. We immediately contacted the front desk, hoping for a quick resolution. To our shock, the staff was completely unhelpful. They claimed they had no mattress covers available to make the couch usable, no roll-away beds to offer as an alternative, and—worst of all—they refused to move us to another room, citing that the hotel was fully booked. This left us with no viable sleeping arrangement for our family of five, forcing us to cram onto the two queen beds, which was uncomfortable and stressful, especially for our young kids. The administration’s lack of care was astounding. There was no apology, no effort to make things right, and no accountability for the disgusting condition of the pull-out couch. We paid for a room that was supposed to sleep five comfortably, but instead, we were left feeling cheated and disrespected. This wasn’t just a minor inconvenience—it was a complete failure of basic hospitality standards. To top it off, the overall cleanliness of the hotel felt questionable after this incident, and the staff’s dismissive attitude only added to our frustration. We had chosen Comfort Suites expecting a reliable, family-friendly stay, but instead, we got a filthy couch, no solutions, and a ruined experience. I strongly advise families to avoid this hotel—there are far better options in Indianapolis that actually care about their guests. Kris

I rarely leave reviews but this one... Ugh The room: The TV was blaring when I got to my room creeping me out thinking there was a mixup with the rooms but after knocking several times I entered. Lights were on, the carpet had some scary stains, and I was afraid to sit on the couch. The entire hotel is non-smoking but my room REEKED of cigarette smoke. Service: checking in I was ignored until I said hello and she said "hold on just a sec". There was no one else around. But ok, I can give her some grace. She seemed to be the only one working there. When I called about the smell in the room she said yeah, that's unfortunate and I couldn't change rooms because they were full. The parking lot never filled up, even at night, it was maybe half full. I mean, perhaps I missed something but it felt like she just didn't want to deal with the extra hassle, or maybe all their rooms smelled. She DID bring me some air freshener spray which helped some. I know this was not a high end hotel, but they should still strive to keep guests happy and have some pride in their facility.

Our stay was horrible. This was the dirtiest hotel I’ve ever stayed in. The pull out bed was absolutely disgusting. It had black and brown stains all over it. When we arrived after midnight all we wanted to do was sleep. That wasn’t in the cards because there was no bedding for the pull out bet. I had to walk back down to get the bedding. I’m sorry but when five people check into a room I think it would be natural we would be using all the beds and I’m not supplying my own bedding when I am overpaying for this place anyway. When I went back up the room my son started putting the bedding on the thin, disgusting pull out mattress so I decided I’d go grab some ice. I went to the machine and it didn’t work. I once again went back to the desk where I was told only the second and third floor worked. I told him I was on the second floor and no, it isn't working. But I would gladly go up to the third. I get up there (using the slow elevator) and it wasn’t working either. So I go back downstairs to ask if there is any other ice machine in the hotel and he said there wasn’t and I’d just have to wait for it to “regenerate”. I go back to the room (iceless) and decide to take a shower before bed. After waiting about 10 minutes for the water to warm up in the half clean shower I almost fall because what looks like a shower mat isn’t actually a mat. It’s the stain outline of an old mat! They only gave us three towels (again, I made it clear there would be five in a room so why not have five towels?). The beds and pillows are very comfortable. I will give them that. The beds were also clean. The carpet was not. Neither were any tables or lamps. The remote was missing the back and the batteries kept falling out. Saturday morning we decided to grab some breakfast pretty early. The biscuits and gravy were wonderful. The eggs were nasty. There was no meat option at all. We couldn’t figure out why breakfast seemed pretty slim but then the lady (extremely nice employee by the way) explained that her truck wasn’t there yet and she was doing the best she could do on her own. Saturday I decided to sit in the pool. The was pretty murky and I was very itchy after I got out, even after a shower. When I first stepped out I felt a film on my skin. Saturday evening I could hear the whole conversation the people next to me were having and I assume they were with another set of guests down the hall because ran back and forth from room to room slamming doors. I went back to see if the ice had “regenerated” and it had not.. on either floor. I go back downstairs and an employee asked if I needed some help getting ice and I explained what was told to me the prior night after midnight and she apologized for the misunderstanding of her staff but the only working machine was on the FOURTH floor. So, there I went again.. I got back to my room after dodging the annoying children running up and down the hallway and had to ask the maid on duty for more towels and he apologized that I wasn’t given more because he’s never told how many occupants will be in each room and he will be reprimanded if he puts more than three towels in there at a time. He was very helpful and also said he would inform the front desk of the loud people running the halls. He must have because that stopped by 8pm. The rest of my family arrived back at the hotel about 12 and everyone was exhausted. They tried to take showers. Only two got a lukewarm shower and the other two had to wait until morning because it just would not heat back up. When we got to the room, it had a mildew smell. Then I noticed that the refrigerator was hot. I went to the desk and asked about how to get the refrigerator to work and was told that there was a note about that room not having a working refrigerator. I was offered to move to another room on the 3rd floor next to a very loud family that smelled even worse.

The manager stated that she would give us a $60 credit for not being able to use the refrigerator in our room. She said she would put it on our bill the following day. We weren't able to talk to her Saturday because we were gone all day. She came in after we left and left before we got back. I was assured Saturday evening that she did apply the credit before she left for the day. Upon check out today, the credit was not showing so another manager had to come and do it after our card was already charged so now we have to wait for the refund.

Other issues with the stay were as follows: Only enough towels to shower 1 day out of our 2 night stay. I was sold Saturday morning to leave our dirty bath towels outside of our room and that they would leave some bath towels at the front desk for us to pick up after we got back from Monster Jam and all they had to offer were tiny thin pool towels. Missing knob of closet with exposed screw. Stains on both beds. Pillows were not what you would expect from a hotel. They were square pillows in queen size pillow cases. Stains and holes on the couch. Dresser and table were in very rough shape. Bottom drawer of dresser didn't come out. There were multiple disgusting areas around the bathtub that had unknown substance on it. Fan in bathroom covered in dust. Bathroom door did not latch closed and wouldn't lock. Multiple stains all over the floor. Cobwebs all over. When my husband and son went up to the 4th floor to get ice, the entire floor smelled like weed. We were only able to get 1/2 of a container of ice. It was only enough to fill 1 cup. When I took my son to the pool to go swimming, I noticed green algae all along the windows and even weeds growing in a couple corners. The rail going into the pool wasn't secured into the ground outside of the pool. The water fountain in the pool area was rusted. The guide button on the remote for the TV didn't work. Miscellaneous metal screwed to bathroom wall with sharp pieces exposed. Paint chipped in...
