The first time (which also happens to be my only time) I tried Pizza Rock was several years ago. It was a late night/early morning visit after an event and I was not in a sound mind and body state to provide specific (and accurate) details of my experience with this business. All I can remember is that I required some food in my system right away and this place provided that sustenance. After years had passed and constantly hearing about Pizza Rock from other folks (specifically YTers), I figured it was time to go back so I can experience it again and this time, share it with everyone on this platform.
My family and I stopped in on 17 May 2025 without making reservations (I can't confirm if they even accept reservations). When we walked in, I was confused because I didn't recall seeing a dining area when I first visited the restaurant - I just remembered ordering two slices of pizza and a water at the counter, and that's it. Needless to say, my expectations for this visit was to grab several slices and eat outside with my family. However, after seeing the dining area, the plans changed and we all agreed to dine-in so we could sit and relax away from the wind. I think we might've beaten the mad rush as well because our wait time wasn't long at all...in fact, we got called ~16 minutes after we checked in and I noticed there were probably 8-10 groups still waiting to get seated. Regardless, the processing time was quick and I appreciated how efficient the hostesses were.
From the moment we walked in the restaurant all the way to departure, the customer service was impeccable. Majority of the outstanding service was provided by our server, Rogelio, who was extremely attentive, professional, and operated at a high rate of speed (which I was glad because I was starving). I'm sure everyone has their good and bad days but based on the overall rating of this restaurant, I don't think that the service is ever an issue here...but again, everyone's experience is different. All I can say is that my experience with the customer service here exceeded expectations.
We ordered a couple of House Salads (Individual Servings); the Tony 2 Times Classic American Pizza, Half-Half Hot Honey and Quattro Carne California Pizza, and Tiramisu for dessert. Everything was truly exceptional! I was glad to hear that this place accommodated a half and half pizza instead of having to order two whole pizzas. Note: They can only accommodate this request as long as the crust and sauce are the same - so for the half-half pizza, we just went with the vodka sauce, which was an excellent choice. I was shocked, but then again, not really, on the fact that we didn't have any leftover pizza. Between starving and the pizzas tasting remarkably fresh and delicious, it's no wonder why this restaurant is so successful, and why we didn't have any leftovers. I will, however, mention that the next time I order the salad, I am going to request the dressing to be placed on the side because I felt it was a little too much for me...although, it did taste great.
The price-to-quantity/quality (value) ratio was reasonable; it felt like prices I would experience outside of the Las Vegas Strip and Downtown areas (locals), even though this restaurant is located downtown. I know there's a Pizza Rock inside Green Valley Ranch Casino so perhaps I'll have to visit there to compare prices. I highly respect this business for their continued support to the active men and women of the Armed Forces, including its Veterans - thank you for that! Overall, I loved my experience at Pizza Rock, as depicted in my 5-star rating. This is a must-experience place for new customers and a return-visit for previous customers. I highly recommend this restaurant...
Read moreReview: A Slice of Vegas Heaven at Pizza Rock Las Vegas is a city of spectacle and sensory overload, but sometimes, what you really crave is a place that delivers simple, unadulterated pleasure. Tucked away just a stone's throw from the downtown buzz and the Mob Museum, Pizza Rock is exactly that kind of sanctuary, offering a culinary experience that’s both high-quality and unpretentiously fun.
The Vibe and Atmosphere Arriving for a late lunch on a quiet Tuesday afternoon, the restaurant had a relaxed, welcoming vibe. With just a handful of other patrons, there was no rush and plenty of space to settle in. The decor is a playful nod to its name, with a rock and roll theme that feels cool without being cheesy. It’s the kind of place you could comfortably bring a group of friends for a boisterous evening or settle into a cozy corner for a casual date. It strikes a perfect balance: cool enough to be a destination, but comfortable enough to be a regular hangout.
The Feast: A World of Pizza and More The true magic of Pizza Rock lies in its audacious and incredibly successful approach to pizza. Skepticism is a natural first reaction to a menu that boasts a dozen different pizza styles, from Neapolitan to Roman to Sicilian. But as the saying goes, if it's done right, it's done right, and Pizza Rock does it exceptionally well.
My friend and I started with the family-style house salad, a fresh and crisp prelude to the main event. We then dove into the Cal Italia pizza, a truly inspired creation. The combination of sweet figs and savory prosciutto was perfectly balanced. The figs provided a subtle sweetness that never became cloying, while the salty prosciutto cut through it beautifully, creating a harmonious blend of flavors that kept us coming back for more.
For those who lean towards the classics, the Margherita pizza is a testament to the kitchen's mastery of the fundamentals. The thin, crispy crust was the perfect vehicle for the vibrant tomato sauce and the rich, melted cheese. It was a simple pizza, executed with such precision that it could make any traditionalist proud. Another standout was the meatball appetizer, which was so tender and flavorful, it tasted like something straight out of an Italian grandmother’s kitchen.
However, not every slice was a hit. The New Yorker pizza, while ambitious, suffered from a crust that was overly hard and crispy, and an abundance of sauce that made it surprisingly salty. The Traditional Grandma's, though slightly softer, also leaned on the salty side. While the variety is a huge plus, some of the more intensely flavored pies might not suit every palate.
The beverage selection is also worth noting. The beer list is extensive, with a wide variety of beers on tap to satisfy any aficionado. We also tried the Mojave Sunset and Gin Blossoms, which provided a welcome splash of color and unique flavor to the meal.
Service and Value The service at Pizza Rock was fast and genuinely friendly. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable, ensuring our meal flowed seamlessly. They were a perfect complement to the casual, upbeat atmosphere.
Final Verdict Pizza Rock is a must-visit for any pizza lover in Las Vegas. While a few of the more adventurous pies might miss the mark slightly, the sheer variety and the high quality of their best offerings make it an exceptional dining experience. The Cal Italia and Margherita are particularly noteworthy and reason enough to return. With its laid-back atmosphere, friendly service, and a beer list that could rival a gastropub, it's the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy some truly great food. I would highly recommend it and can't wait to go back and try another slice of their...
Read moreThe good news : Let me start off by saying the food is absolutely amazing. I went there two days in a row in fact because the food was so good. We had meatballs, garlic, cheese, bread, pizza and salad. The marinara sauce was amazing and I don't even like marinara sauce. The meatballs were perfect. They're homemade. The salad dressing was also amazing. The bad news: The first night we went there with another couple. Two out of five of us. We're still sitting there 35 minutes after the others got their food without theirs. I asked the waiter what was the holdup with my son's pizza as well as my pizza. He assured me that it would be right out. 10 minutes later I called him back over and I said sir could you please find out where my pizza is? He went back into the kitchen and I could clearly hear him till another man in the kitchen that he forgot to put the pizzas on the order. When he came back out of the kitchen I called him back over to our table and asked him to tell me the truth. I said just level with me man. Tell me what's going on. Finally he said okay, I'll come clean. I forgot to put them on the order. I was fine with that because mistakes happen. We ate our food and went on our way. We liked our food so much. We decided to go back the next day. Oddly enough, the same exact thing happened once again. This time I asked the waitress what was the holdup with the pizza after my meatballs and cheesy bread, (which by the way were absolutely amazing) arrived 25 minutes prior. The waitress told me pizzas take longer than meatballs because they take time to bake. I told the gal. The gentleman sitting in the table next to us got here 15 minutes after us or his food. 15 minutes after us happened to get his two large pizzas 20 minutes ago. We were still waiting on our small cheese pizza for my 9-year-old. About another 15 minutes passes and finally my son's pizza came out. Instead of eating in front of my son, my wife and I sat there and waited for his food to get there and by the time his did ours was not even lukewarm. My meatballs were cold but still delicious nonetheless. I feel like this place doesn't care if they get a bunch of repeat business and that's why they're staff doesn't care. To the point: The food is amazing, but the service both times I've been here have been absolutely horrific. I don't feel their staff really cares and it shows. If you want some absolutely killer food but terrible service. This is the...
