I've always loved their pastries + recommended this place many times. This time around I made a request for my gender reveal cake. I was given a digram to specify the details, they took a pic of the inspo cake. I called at 8 am the following day confirm the details. They told me they hadn't starting making the cake yet so it was fine. I was asked to also email the details as well including photos and told to let me know if they had any questions/concerns. I also advised them over the phone to contact me w/ the progress to make sure that everything is going smoothly. But there was no communication at all so I decided to be patient and trust the process.
So I call at the end of the day to confirm that they received the email + by the tone I sensed that she was irritated + goes on to say that what I described in email wasn't like it was on paper + they started the cake already anyways. That she knew what she was doing etc...She did more talking than listening. Which made me feel really uncomfortable and defeated.
All I wanted a minimalistic rustic like cake. same cursive writing , the same med pearls I was shown at my first visit but for some reason they went w/the tinniest that I was never asked for. I also asked to leave the sides of the cake BLANK, ONLY if they could not put ONE simple line around the middle, gold flakes OR crumbles consistent w/ the ones top of cake per the inspo photo.
When I got there a 3 days later. I guess they decided to get creative bc it looked like a toddler decorated the cake. I gave them a second chance and an extra day to fix their mistake. They removed and replaced the tiny pearls w/ the med ones, added gold flakes on top and the sides but the writing STILL wasnt in cursive.
I was truly disappointed that they managed to make the same mistake twice despite writing it on paper in person AGAIN and even calling after I got home to make sure we were on the same page. I even offer AGAIN for them reach out with the progress via text/email and they chose not to AGAIN and I still got blamed for their mistake. They never once apologized it was like they were determined to put the blame on me by marking remarks such as âwell this is what you asked for" .."looks fine to me"... "I donât know what youâre expecting" .."you kept changing your mindâ .. "we dont have the time"
So she comes back after "fixing" the writing and I say: "youre joking right?" she replies âI donât see what the problem is.â-- basically instead of adding extra cream to smear the old writing it was âfixedâ the lazy way w/ the old writing was STILL visible overlapping the new writing. I then had to pick my jaw off the floor after seeing the attempt to write in cursive. Whoever was responsible for the cake had zero experience and the miscommunication was clearly amongst the staff. They made it seem like I had rushed them to make a extravagant 3 tier cake in 4 days.
As I paused and starred at the mutilated cake. My eyes filled with tears. I could have said a lot of things but Iâm pregnant and didnât want to go there and put any stress on my baby. She never made eye contact. I took a big sigh and she says "so do you want it or notâ I told her âwell today is the day of my gender reveal celebration + I have much of a choiceâ She tells me the amount, I gave my card, she hands me my receipt and immediately goes to the back w/o saying a word while I just stood there in tears and customers were asking me if I was okay bc they noticed that I was pregnant. I was really hurt. Itâs not like I was asking for a discount or was making unreasonable requests. I understand that mistakes happen, but not a single person took accountability for the outcome for this situation.
Right when I thought it couldnât get any worse. Once I got to my gender reveal location. Took out my tres leches cake from the bag. The the box was leaking blue liquid which had accumulated in the bottom of bag. It was dripping everywhere. We were def bummed to find the gender before the celebration started. Anyways, I will most likely not be returning to this...
Read moreVery strange. I take my dog on long walks and always enjoy stopping at different bakeryâs to get (usually a croissant) for the way. Every time I pick up my dog and order very quickly so we can be in an out. Not only is it never a problem but bakeryâs love him and always seem to appreciate it. I stopped here today and right as I was about to order the woman working cut me off and said âdid you see our sign?â I actually didnât know what she was talking about and cheerfully thought maybe there some kind of âspecial of the dayâ sign she was telling me about, so I said âno! :)â and she says âcan you go look at itâ I was confused, so she said âis he a service animal?â I quickly realized what was happening and said âno, are dogs not allowedâ and said, with a rude smirk ânoâ. I found this to be very rude and honestly kind of hurtful? But more than anything unbenefitial to her, I was about to quickly order and be in and out. I guess I know which bakery to not stop at anymore. Rude and condescending...
Read moreI got a cake from here and it was highly recommend to me by my neighbor. This cake was for my mom, the lady was really nice and everything. We asked simple questions about the cake:
The clerk told us it was a whip cream cake with fruits inside, she wasn't clear with the fruits. When we went to taste this cake. Not only is the cake a frosting base but the fruit was a raspberries. THAT WENT BAD ALREADY. This left a really bad aftertaste and a bad remarks everywhere even my guests. I've never felt so bad for the cake, the bread was really good every one ate the bread not the rest. It's sad to say I have only filling and frosting leftovers. Gross....
If your clerks aren't sure when these cakes where made at least let them know what the heck is in the cakes or something. Aside, I might come back but I am not confident about your...
