When we walked into Treetop #7 one of my friends said ‘this is nice”. This friend will never pick the hotel we stay in. Old but adequate, the entire townhouse was sheathed in wood paneling, EVERY wall. The oil stain on it has become so uneven over the years that I thought I saw dust everywhere, but when I went to wipe it realized it was just a darker stain. ||||Just inside the door is the kitchen, completely open to the dining table, with the space between serving as a hallway. There is a vestibule to store skis which also has a closet with washer/dryer. Everything inside was pretty old, from the appliances, to the furniture, even the décor and decorations. That said I knew it was old when we booked it, as are most of the outlying townhomes. We booked it for the value and it was a good value. The furniture was comfortable and by the end of my stay I didn’t mind our little home. We entertained every night and fit 8-10 people around that kitchen table. ||||The biggest problem was the heating. The fireplace never turned on/off per the instructions and we had to call maintenance when we wanted to use it. The wall heaters worked okay the first few nights, though a couple of them were missing knobs. But the last night none of them seemed to work. By morning the whole place was very cold. The baseboard heating in the bedrooms worked fine. ||||We did call maintenance and housekeeping a couple of times and they were always prompt and very friendly. The reservationist suggested it was 100 yards to the lift. In full snow coverage it might have been 100 yards to where you could clip in and ski to the lift, but without that snow cover it was a long walk to the slopes. It was okay for us but I wouldn’t want the younger kids to have to make that trek with skis. In regular shoes it was an easy walk to the store, the pools and the village plaza. Unit 7 did not have access to WiFi, the router next door was protected, but unit 10 had an unprotected router which we could consistently pick up...
Read moreWe travel A LOT and I have NEVER worked so hard to find a venue to leave a bad review. This townhome is actual not horrible as my "1" would make you think. It is VERY dated and creaky but has a decent layout for our 2 families to get some together time and some skiing. Good kitchen space and "utensils". The bathrooms are small but functional and it is, for sure, nice to have 2. HOWEVER, upon our arrival we checked in down the road as instructed and drove the next few miles up the mountain to the resort area to arrive/unpack/get settled. NO biggee....until we arrived at our unit, dropped our stuff and went off to find our rental equipment. Upon arriving back at our rental we discoved that the upstairs bathroom toilet was covered in poo - like someone had a explosion and the cleaning people didn't notice! So I called the number on our paper work that said "if you get locked out, or have a problem, or....." - no answer and rings to a man's voice on a machine that says "sorry if you have reached this the reservations staff if busy so please call back in a few minutes or email us at reser......" - no way to leave a message, no way to report an emergency (this obviously wasn't but what if we were indeed locked out??) so I sent the email there and to another email I had from our reservation and proceeded to call back every 15 min for hours. Then I tried another email and 2 different private Facebook and continued calling all evening until late. Woke in the am and still no response!! And continued to call until nearly 10 when someone actually called the landline in the unit (there is no cell service here! ) and I answered to a woman who made several excuses, blamed her boss and sent the cleaning lady back about 4 hours later without even an apology. WHAT WOULD WE HAVE DONE WITH A REAL EMERGENCY??? I asked this to deaf ears. DO NOT stay with Casago.com aka snowshoevacationrentals.com if you may want to have some peace of mind...
Read moreWe were supposed to be able to check in at 5pm. We were told 3 times that housekeeping would only be 30 minutes more. At 7:47, I went back to the desk to check, and requested that I not be told it would only be 30 minutes more. The desk attendant told us that she would personally come and get us in the bar when it was ready. We finished watching a bowl game that was interesting to us, and at 8:34 went back to the front desk. We were told that it was just now ready and we could check in. No attempt was made to come and get us. We may have arrived at the front desk before that attempt was made, but given the previous treatment, I doubt an attempt was made. I heard numerous stories from resort employees over our time there that they have great difficulty finding employees. We were also told that this time of year, the week between Christmas and New Years, is their busiest time. If this is all true, it only adds up to disgruntled customers, with us being one of several we spoke to. The condo was average in decor and functional, except for one of the room heaters failing on our final night(12-15 degree low was expected). It's location is not on slopes as is the village, and we did know this. It is convenient to the shuttle which does run often. If this will be your destination, bring enough food to cook your meals in the condo. Access to groceries is very limited, and restaurants have such long wait times(1-2 hours) that you will wish you brought...
