Beware if you book through Snowshoe you will get very limited info on your unit as they are privately owned. Snowshoe will take no responsibility for the condition of the unit. You will take your changes
Unit 220: Cons: "Deluxe two bedroom" with "high speed internet and new or newish furnishings." - the chairs are worn through, the couch is ancient and the internet is practically dial up speed. The toilet backs up. light bulbs are out. SMART TVs would be a nice touch but internet won't stream so its worthless. Hair dryers in bathrooms could be used to heat the bathrooms as there is zero heat....in a mountain ski resort. Very cold floors. Do not sleep on the pull out. Sleep on the floor. It will be more comfortable. And bring an extra blanket as there is one thin blanket for the pull out. Water lines to washer are backward so my dark clothes in washer on cold setting ran dye because it filled with steaming hot water.
Pros: Beds are very comfortable. Soaking tub and fireplace are nice. Cable is good. Full Kitchen is well stocked. Free landline long distance. Unit has washer and dryer. Newer kitchen appliances. Nice coffee maker. Two full baths. Nice blackout curtains. Plenty of closet space. Nicely decorated. Balcony.
Senaca Located in the village so if you want to be close to restaurants and stores it is nice. very close to rental shop. Short walking distance to slopes and ski school. Very nice large outdoor hottub. Indoor ski lockers. Underground heated parking but it is first come first served. Senaca It can be loud if ski slope grooming is going on or people are partying.
Conceirge person was the best. She was extremely helpful.
Very secure. Easy to navigate. Small workout room and sauna.
Covid: masks are not enforced even with staff. It is dangerous as you must use common hallways and elevators to get to and from your unit. ski lockers are indoors in a small room so you are trapped with maskless people while you put your gear away. the housekeepers wore masks around their necks. Units have individual hvac which is very good.
Overall Far too expensive for what you get. Better options at...
Read moreWe surprised our kids with a Christmas ski trip (12/26-12/30) and booked at Seneca after seeing other reviews about the location near the slopes, village, shuttle pickup for Silvercreek, and the underground parking. I knew it was going to be busy so we arrived around 3:30pm on Saturday to check in at Top of the World. Waited in line while the kids played in the snow that was dumped before we arrived. Picked up room (#215 Deluxe Studio facing the village) key, locker code, and lift tickets from the friendly staff. Pulled into the heated underground garage and unloaded the truck. Room was tight but had a pull out sofa bed, queen bed, full kitchen, gas fireplace, and a balcony. The TV/DVD player were a mess and in a squirrels nest of cables but I bought a firestick. We connected it to the wifi and we were good for the trip. We planned to eat in the room for most meals and bought lots of frozen chilli, deer meat for tacos/spaghetti, and bacon/sausage to keep the other food in the coolers cold on the way up on our 10 hour drive. Balcony was great for keeping drinks cold and watching all the people try out their skis on from the rental location which was just steps away. The closet was small but we just brought extra heavy hangers for the ski gear to dry out while the ground floor ski lockers fit all of our equipment except our boots (family of 5). We did not really notice the outside noise, snowplows, or blowers but they were running while we were there. Plan to go back sometime this season and hope we time the weather right again. Hopefully there will be me more places open to eat at in the village but I plan to bring food to save money. If you have a down day when not on the slopes go to the Cheat Mountain hiking trail behind the water towers up near Soaring Eagle Lodge which looks like its straight out of the...
Read moreOne of the best more affordable places to stay at Snowshoe. Seneca isn't as dense or big as other buildings in the Village, which is a plus (elevators aren't busy and it is more quiet). And only about 40% of the owners offer their units up for rentals. It also has a "community" vibe. For example, I had a nice conversation with an owner in the nice large outdoor hot tub. On Friday evening, the front desk had cookies. In addition to the hot tub, the private outside patio has a nice gas fireplace, which puts out a good amount of heat. If the hot tub isn't your thing, you can still watch the beautiful sunset by the fire. The building has a heated underground parking area, ice machine, and coin laundry. I stayed in a studio (Seneca 117), which has dated furniture, but otherwise was perfect for my needs. The unit doesn't have a gas fireplace, which I believe all of the larger units do have. The bathroom has nice hooks to bath towels! A detail often overlooked at many places. I also liked that this unit had two entrances (one interior and one from the Village sidewalk). However, I wish it had sheer curtains to allow daylight while still having some privacy. The unit has Direct TV, which is not standard across all rentals. Some of the other places I've stayed either had rural cable (no nice remote and no nice guide) or no cable/satellite service. Seneca's location is very good. Very short walk to Expedition Rentals to pickup rental equipment. Short walk to the slopes. And a convenient locker is provided next to the lobby to store your equipment. It is also a short walk to shops, restaurants, and bars/venues. There is no option for housekeeping during your stay, but plenty of towels were provided. I was able to take advantage of a 4th night free Snowshoe promo, which made the price right...
