Nice place. Bed was comfy, room was nice and neat. Full kitchen. Had extra sheets and towels and pots and pans, utensils, etc. The TV had a ton of TV channels which was a plus. Even has a washer and dryer in the unit. Plus grills by the pool for everyone to use. My only complaint was the parking spots you are assigned you can't see on the pavement in the dark, maybe need more lighting in the parking lot. And the crotchety old woman at the lower pool that is there during the day with all her retiree friends don't let the kids have fun in the pool. Most are nice, but watch out for the couple of them. Many families come here to stay, and I'm sure she and her friends run a lot of people away. The pool is for everyone, including kids. The rules are no toys or floats in the pool and no splashing. I get the splashing part for those trying to relax. No marco polo either. My daughter had a couple small toys that sank and she was quietly dipping down to the bottom of the pool to grab them and the lady made it a point to complain and reiterate the rules in a snotty way. Then continued to talk about it with her friends loudly after I even took away my kids toys and my daughter cried. Funny part was other kids came in next and had floats and toys. Which made her even more mad. Maybe need one pool for visitors and one pool for those who stay there permanently who cant be 'bothered.' Or change the rules to let kids be...

I feel very bad for the people lost their lifes and their homes. We planned vacation between the 08.09-11.09 to Maui and booked also flights, car and this hotel.
Depending on the curcumstances, it would be very respectless from our side to do somewhere vacation, were the people life dramatic situations.
Therefore i contacted the airline, the rental car and the hotel. The airline cancled the flight and paid our money back, the rental car service also cancled and paid our money back but the Hotel didnt until today.
I contacted them a few times, first they say no we can arrive and make vacation it is no problem. The part of the island of the hotel is not burning. How respectless?!
The second time now they say, we can exchange it to credits for a future stay in Maui. I live in germany, it is over 20h flight how should i plan to come again next month or in 3 month.
They make themselves quite to easy!! Really not happy with theses guys!! The island is in a very bad situation and life tragedys and they still want to bring tourists to their hotel.

Read moreStaying at this property right now. Unit DG05 (experience might differ for other units). This particular unit is Vacasa managed. Local staff is horrible to deal with. At check-in the bathroom was dirty, there was cobwebs close to the bed, expired beef pack in the freezer, and old clothing (from previous guests?). The next morning they offer a refund of cleaning fees. As we start to settle in and try our best to enjoy the property, we find a lizard on the beach chairs and the boogie board, so that is gone. As if all of this was not enough, a lizard dropped from the bathroom ceiling very close to me the very next morning. Contacted the management and they try to have me believe this is part of the Hawaii experience and that the lizards are there to take care of the bugs.. WOW! What are you there for then?? Taking care of the lizards?? An absolute Thumbs down to vacasa and their management here. Look elsewhere and your vacation...
