We recently had the pleasure of indulging in a delightful meal from Maui Thai Bistro, which we conveniently had delivered to our doorstep via DoorDash. The anticipation of savoring authentic Thai cuisine was met with utmost satisfaction as we unpacked our order, revealing a colorful array of dishes that promised a flavorful experience.
I had specifically chosen the shiitake mixed vegetable stir-fry, which was a vibrant medley of fresh, crisp vegetables perfectly complemented by the earthy richness of shiitake mushrooms. The vegetables retained just the right amount of crunch, and the savory sauce tied all the ingredients together harmoniously, offering a balance of flavors that was both comforting and exhilarating.
Accompanying this was a generous serving of Pad Thai, a beloved classic that did not disappoint. The noodles were cooked to perfection—neither too soft nor too firm—and were enveloped in a tangy, subtly sweet sauce that highlighted the traditional essence of the dish. The addition of fresh bean sprouts, crushed peanuts, and a hint of lime elevated the Pad Thai, adding layers of texture and zest that delighted the palate with every bite.
Our dining experience, though enjoyed at home, was imbued with the warmth and rich flavors characteristic of Thai cuisine. The quality of the food, combined with the convenience of delivery, left us thoroughly impressed and eager to dine with Maui Thai Bistro again in the future. We look forward to the day when we can revisit their menu, perhaps even in person, to relive the culinary joy their...
Read moreTom Yum Gai soup is an under rated flavor palate that truly shines in this restaurant. You’re probably thinking, “soup? In this weather? Fat chance, lady.” I don’t know what they put in there and wouldn’t even care if it was crack. It’s amazing. I’ve never had a better one. So coconut creamy and lots of lime flavors.
The pad Thai is also a high quality meal with a lot more flavor than most of the restaurants here in the area. I didn’t much care for the pad see yew as I thought it wasn’t greasy enough. Just a bit blander soy sauce flavor than the other two stellar dishes. I ordered to go and my food was done ten minutes early which I’m glad I was there for. Pro tip: come ten minutes early for picking up to go orders.
When I went in on a Saturday night, there were 14 parties seated with only three total front of house staff working the whole place. One was only doing hostess related things such as running credit cards, take out orders, phones and processing pick ups. One was serving all of these groups in a very large restaurant. One was bartending and I’m assuming taking care of some tables as well because who could take care of 14 parties which include a single 12 person party?! Wow!! They were all zooming.
My order was piping hot and ready when I arrived. This place is great and they are working really hard to run a good...
Read morePretty average - We ordered Beef Pad See Ew, Papaya Salad and Calamari. The food wasn't over oily which was appreciated but there really was a lack of spices/herbs and overall flavor. In our three dishes there wasn't a trace of fresh garlic, onion of any kind or any herbs. No cilantro, no mint, no green onion... pretty much just main ingredients and sauce.
The calamari is the steaks cut into strips and fried (rather than rings and tentacles) served plain with basic sweet Thai chili/honey sauce. Decent breading, fryer oil tasted a bit burned/old.
Papaya salad was just shredded papaya, tangy vinaigrette dressing and a few peanuts. Again, some green onions, mint, garlic, basil... anything would have helped.
Beef Pad See Ew was a few ounces of steak, a couple pieces of broccoli, some remnants of scrambled egg and a pound+ of noodles with sauce. Again, not a trace of any herb or spice and way too much noodle and not enough meat or veggies. I get it - things are expensive. Raise the price and give me something rather than 95% noodles.
Our server was nice and the food was fairly quick. Host at the front was pretty direct and cold. Ambiance is minimal... almost cafeteria-like at the back of a strip mall...
