This used to be my all-time favorite spot to visit. I visited in 2021 during u know what, and the experience was far better despite the hardship we all faced at that time. I'll start with my room, I was told our room should be ready by 230, and it wasn't. They saw I had a disabled room booked and tried to switch me out of it. I guess you need to break hippa to keep your room. So they told me that room was almost done. 5pm rolls around and again, they managed to not give me that room and said because it's being remodeled. Yet you booked it for me months ago?? The room I was given was rushed.. so what time is the check-in time?? I arrived in the room, pots were still on the stove, cleaners spray, and towels were still on the counter. The shower floor mat was left in the dryer... Then there were the roaches.. all in the kitchen, poop all on the corners of the floor and in the cabinets. I understand the island has roaches, yet I have never seen it so bad. Little tiny ones as well as big ones. Complete infestation. I was then told the following day a maintenance man had to come into my room. I told them that it was fine, but my wife was in the shower. They responded that he didn't need to enter our back bedroom. He never showed up, and I didn't want anyone entering when I was gone. I was told to put the do not disturb sign up from the front desk. Yet, I didn't have one. I went to the front desk to get one, and they told me to go to the back building. Those people told me to go to the front desk. Now I get to leave knowing my room can be entered without me there .. The lady at the back building.... my wife asked for some more towels and laundry soap. Mind you, there wasn't any soap left for us upon arrival. She yelled at my wife that we should have had soap in there and called her a liar for saying we didn't have any to begin with. She is very disrespectful and lacks all customer service skills. Why she thinks it's OK to scold an owner is unacceptable. Shut up and give us the measly soap. Now for the gym.... Front doors are locked, and we have to go around the building. It's like 10 am... There are no sanitary wipes to wipe down the machines. I asked the front desk, and nobody ever showed up with it. Then, the following time, I called in again, and there was a bottle spray, which was good. The following day, it was removed.. I called in again and was told they would bring wipes in. 55 minutes later, the maintenance man arrived with it. Unexceptional. I was very unsatisfied with the experience. The service has fallen apart. I see no excuses on the service breakdowns. I'll cut some slack on the fact there is a remodeling project, but the roaches and dirty rooms you put owners in are ridiculous. Do better.

This review is based on annual visits from the last 20 years. We've stayed in the studio, 1, 2, and 3 bedroom accomodations. Our visits are usually 1 to 2 months long. Of the WorldMark properties, this Kihei is one of the largest. It's centrally located along Kihei's coast. It's across the street from Kamala Beach The entire staff is friendly and efficient. The maintenance and cleaning crew members are constantly buzzing around the resort performing their duties. Considering the size of the resort and the number of guests coming and going, the staff has always done a great job making the resort comfortable. Fortunately, this property is constantly being renovated and maintained. It's high volume of visitors can take a toll on the rooms and facilities if the maintenance weren't attended to. Over the years, we've noticed the rooms are constantly being renovated. The furnishings are replaced regularly, fixtures are upgraded. It almost seems as though revitalization projects are consistently being done around the property. The rooms reflect a comfortable but utilitarian purpose. They're not the luxury accomodations (with plush carpets , sofas, and window dressings that are difficult and expensive to clean, maintain, and/or replace) that one might find in the resort in Wailea or Ka'anapali. However, they are perfect for visitors who are looking for a clean, quiet, and comfortable place to relax, rest, and recharge after a day out visiting Maui's attractions. The common areas are well maintained. The grills are gas operated and have recently been replaced and upgraded. The pool and gym areas are also well maintained. They're constantly attended to by staff. While the area around the pools are usually buzzing with activities and play, pool hours regulate the noise to reasonable hours of the day. They gym is equipped with basic exercise machines and free weights. Towels, water cooler, and television monitors are also provided. There is plenty of parking around the resort buildings.

We got a 1bed/1bath on the second floor in a building near the pool, which was awesome! Great amenities, friendly staff (especially Kim!), and SUPER close to a calm beach that I thought was Kihei Cove. You can totally see the beach from the second floor, simply cross at the traffic light and you're there! Though we're the type to reserve touristy things months in advance, it might be better to book activities with the steep Worldmark Discount. Directly after check-in, Kim sent us to Carla to book a snorkel activity that we both really enjoyed for $80 cheaper than Viator. There's an awesome food truck next to the driveway, and we got shave ice to enjoy in the hot tub on more than one occasion. There's also a food program to address food waste, and a neighbor who checked out a few days before us generously donated eggs, ham & cheese, chips & salsa, salads, etc. It's a great way to save some money on food budget! We only ran the dishwasher ONCE at the end of the week, and I was pleasantly surprised that all the crusty (and some moldy) gunk was washed away even after sitting dirty for several days. I especially appreciate that the "Owner Presentation" was so chill, the salesperson immediately understood that we weren't going to buy more points and instead spent our time suggesting cool places to visit or foods to try. It's nice that we didn't have to keep saying "no." [NY Midtown seller take notes plz]. The one thing that I didn't appreciate was that I asked for a wake-up call for the Haleakala Sunrise --and whoever from the lobby said they would!!-- there was no wake-up call. Bruh. Why would you say someone would call if nobody would??? It's okay, though, we had like 17 alarms as back up.

This is a medium-size resort property with not enough pool space.|This is a WorldMark (Wyndham) time-share property.|We stayed here a number of times and enjoyed the experience. |However, about ten years ago, a time-share membership level restriction would NOT allow us to stay here. Now, for an “additional” fee, we were allowed to come again.|Except for the location….it was NOT worth it!||OUR GRIPES:||If you are not at a certain membership level, you HAVE TO PAY FOR WI-FI.|We found this annoying at a time when even economy motels include wi-fi.|The fee may be “nominal”…but it is for only two devices and per day…..so if you have a family with many devices, it is no longer “nominal”……….then it’s like having to pay for toilet paper.||There was one small (sample sized) bottle of shampoo, and one of conditioner, and NO lotion for our four-night stay. If you need more, you have to ask for it.||There were two packets of coffee in the room….but you can ask for more.||Some of the towels were worn out (thin and with shreds); and many with different shades of gray. We ask for replacements and those were thick, fluffy and white!||There were cockroaches in the bathroom (which could be a sign of uncleanliness). |We had to have them come to spray for them.||They listed a “business center”, but it was a single desk-top computer with an “out of order” sign on it. Apparently, it was new, but not yet useable….and the front said there was no one available to set it up, and could not say when that might happen.||There is no clock in the unit (not counting the one on the microwave). ||There is no “welcome” morning coffee in the front office, no complimentary bottle of water, no popcorn…….||LOCATION: |The World Mark Kihei is located along the Kihei coast. The travel time to Kahului (incl. airport) is a 20 minute drive; Lahaina about 30-45min; and Wailea about 15min.|The walk across the main road to the beach is about 5 min. Many other beaches are within a 10 min drive. Many stores, shops and restaurants are also a few minutes away.|Accommodations:|It appeared that this unit was recently remodeled (and updated from our previous stays). The furnishings were nice; lighting was very adequate and bright.||Our unit was a comfortable one-bed room with a king size bed. In the living room is a queen size Murphy bed; maximum accommodation is for four adults. There is a small table with two chairs for eating or writing. ||There is a medium sized flat screen television, awkwardly angled across the room from a small sofa (making a larger screen tv more desirable). There is also a small TV in the bedroom.||All the units have a kitchen. There is a full cook top with oven, standard microwave, full size refrigerator, dishwasher, and a coffee pot. Also included are cookware, dishes, eating and cooking utensils for four persons.||The bathroom has a single sink and marginal counter space; nice tub and shower. ||Air conditioner and ceiling fan in the bedroom and living room was effective and efficient. |There is a sizeable lanai with table and four chairs. ||AMENITIES:|All units also have a washer and dryer. |Electrical outlets were plentiful to accommodate electronic devices.|There are gas BBQ units that work and are maintained.|There is NO combination safe present…..but parking is included.||POOLS AND GROUNDS:|The grounds and pool areas are nice and adequately kept. There is one pool for the entire complex. On a busy day, it was crowded and noisy.||The access to the ocean beach is about a five-minute walk across the road; |or a few minutes’ drive to a number of other beaches in the area.||STAFF: Most were friendly, helpful and welcoming.....(but not all were smiling) :(||To WORLD MARK:|My opinion is that this could be a wonderful place if they would make their guests feel more welcomed. World Mark needs to step up on the welcoming ladder!!||Quit the “nickel and dime” attitude. ||I would not want to buy into this type of time...

This used to be my all-time favorite spot to visit. I visited in 2021 during u know what, and the experience was far better despite the hardship we all faced at that time.

We've stayed here at least 10x over the past 20 years. Great location for beach access, walking distance from shopping, decent food, surfing, snorkeling and everything you could need on Maui. Service has always been great until this last time we stayed Aug 4-11. The front desk lady (young adult age) was abysmal at her job. Even her coworkers around her were visibly embarrassed by how she handled our check in process. I won't get into the boring details, suffice it to say, she needs to work anywhere except in a customer facing position. Had she handled my business's customers the same way she was with me, she would have been terminated within the week. Very unfortunate circumstance and experience. Fortunately for her, her coworker stepped in and salvaged the check in experience. Thankfully, she steered clear from whenever we crossed paths throughout the rest of our stay. Let me state, for those still reading, we are not a 5 star hotel, high-expectations, unrealistic, complaining-type person (look at my other reviews, I usually only review when I have something good to say). We reserved 3x 2 bedroom units and 1x 3 bedroom unit for our stay fir the week. The cleaning has definitely declined as well. Not sure if it was staffing shortages, poor training, or the proverbial lacadaisacal employees of late, needless to say, 3 of our 4 rooms were not vacuumed well at all, there was still hair in the showers/tubs in 2 of the units, towels were not stocked adequately (not enough at check in for the appropriate # of guests), and thebtile floors were not cleaned. I like to give the benefit of doubt to service workers, as I own and operate several servixe based businesses. But this was an unfortunate and unsatisfactory experience based upon the lack of quality across our 4 rooms. Someone them were good and some weren't. So the quality can be there, when the right person does their job. I would have to give this time around a below average rating. If it wasn't for the location, our familiarity with the area over the years, and our previously great experiences, i would not be able to recommend coming here. But I think it might have been an off week and hope that when we return, it will have been improved upon and returned to its original high level cleanliness, customer service and overall excellent experience. Hope that helps someone out there and that management read their reviews to be able to make changes to improve...
