A Hidden Culinary Gem Don't let the unassuming location fool you—this spot is a must-try. Recommended by a restaurateur friend of my wife's, it completely won me over, despite my usual aversion to counter-service on vacation. From the moment we walked in, Peter, the owner/manager, greeted us with such warmth and hospitality that it set the tone for an amazing meal. I initially thought it was solely a fish taco joint, but I couldn't have been more wrong. While their fish tacos are indeed spectacular, they offer so much more. The coconut shrimp is some of the best we've ever had, especially when paired with the Thai-chili pineapple sauce. Seriously, ask for two sides of that sauce—it's incredible! My wife's fish tacos were a revelation. Each order comes with two tacos, but here's the genius part: each taco has an extra white corn tortilla. This means you can either keep all that delicious filling in one super-stuffed taco or easily split it into two separate ones. Her tacos were loaded with perfectly grilled fish, cheese, tomato salsa, and coconut milk, all finished with a vibrant mango salsa. She opted to tackle hers as a single, epic taco, and every bite was pure bliss. The fish was perfectly cooked and incredibly flavorful. Her only minor critique was that the slaw could have been a bit finer and slightly less abundant, but even as someone not usually keen on slaw, she was thrilled we made the trip. I went for the Mahi Mahi Fish & Chips, and it was equally impressive. The Mahi Mahi was cooked to perfection, with a light, crispy crust that wasn't greasy at all. It came with a delicious tartar sauce, a generous portion of fries, and a side of coconut milk coleslaw. This place is definitely getting a strong recommendation to all our friends visiting the area, and we're already hoping to squeeze in another visit before heading back to Texas.

My husband and I were on our honeymoon in Maui last week, and one of the restaurants we found was Coconut’s Fish Cafe. We’ve been eating a lot of sushi, so I wanted to try something different. That’s when I found Coconut’s Fish Café. Their menu intrigued me so on the first day we went to the 1279 S Kihei Rd location. The restaurant was clean and the Fish Tacos were recommended to us by the lovely cashier, so we decided to give it a try. The Fish Tacos were AMAZING 🤤😍! As we were sitting there eating, we were briefly greeted by the GM, Moki, as well. The next day we were craving Coconut’s Fish Tacos, so we decided to try out their second location on 2463 S Kihei Rd. To our surprise, the person bringing out our order turned out to be the GM, Moki. He was also pleasantly surprised to see us there and remembered us from the night before. He came over to our table later on to speak with us, which made us feel happy and gained respect for their brilliant customer service. During our time eating there that day another wonderful person we met was Deb, who was our waitress. She was fabulous! Deb’s energy was so pleasant it made our entire day! Let me just tell you, besides the food being incredibly tasty, the staff is also very humble and kind. Both locations in Maui are now our favourite restaurants of all time! The food is REALLY fresh, healthy and filling! Highly recommend the Fish Tacos 🤤🫶🏼 Literally everything on their menu looks amazing 😍 The staff at both locations WERE super friendly and both restaurants are very clean. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! The next time we’re in Maui, we’re definitely going back! Thank you so much Coconut’s Fish Café for serving us splendidly. We’ll be back but will miss you until then! 🫶🏼

During our visit we wanted a quick service place to grab food so we could be on our way to explore the island more! Coconuts was a perfect place to stop. We ordered coconut shrimp, fish tacos, and a traditional poke bowl. Portions were great for the price and considering the area where it's located, best of all the food was delicious.

The coconut shrimp were the best I've ever had, the shrimp were large and very fresh, and the coating was perfectly crispy.

Fish tacos were also fantastic, I enjoyed them so much and wish I could recreate them at home! The fish was tender and buttery, everything very well seasoned and complimented each other. But... If you don't like a lot of "stuff" on your tacos, you may not like these. I enjoyed the entirety of the taco with all the toppings of mango, tomato salsa, cheese, etc., while my companion wasn't a huge fan. He's more simplistic when it comes to tacos overall anyways so again, it's not everyone's cup of tea!

Lastly our poke bowl was great, the fish was super fresh and high quality. The rice was perfectly cooked and everything seasoned great. They offer a teriyaki and spicy option, we went for traditional and a side of spicy sauce in case we wanted to have a few different flavored bites. Absolutely a staple poke that hits the spot, nothing fancy but very enjoyable!

Service was so friendly and welcoming, they have open drink fountain so you can get refills, and they had tons of condiments for whatever your mood/order. Bathrooms were clean and stocked. The restaurant overall was extremely clean and had cute decor without being overwhelming. The only thing of note our whole visit was that it was quite warm inside. Granted I had also been out in the sun for days and I'm very pale, so it's very possible it was a "me" problem. 😂 Next time I'm in Maui, I'll...
