This was the 3rd Hilton Gardens and I must say it was the worst of any. Will I try a Hilton Gardens again, certainly. I feel this one did not speak to the exceptional service I receive at Hilton properties and my preference is always Hilton. I am a Hilton Honors member and I expect to see outstanding customer service from one property to the next...after all the only thing you really have to sell me is "customer service" because anyone can find a bed and a TV anywhere so its the customer service that will generate repeat business...and from the Netherlands in Cincinnati to the Hampton in Niceville and all properties in between have shown impeccable service until I checked into Hilton Gardens on Apr 06, 2016. I first ordered room service and what I received was not what I ordered....I was told the soup was no longer available so I asked if they had tomato basil and they said yes and sent me Campbell's tomato soup....they said they understood me to say tomato base and not basil....first, to begin with if you don't have chowder then take it off the menu...I ordered salmon on a bed of bok choy, but they did not serve it as such and then tried to tell me it was bok choy as though I didn't know what bok choy was...don't question my intelligence, I know what I eat and I know what bok choy is...they removed the charge for the soup and said they would take 10% off the bill which they did not! The front desk is never manned and the phone rung continuously when I tried to call for toilet tissue....when I finally got an answer, I was told I had to come to the front desk and pick it up....I must say it was rather embarrassing to be handed a roll of toilet tissue in the presence of the men at the desk checking in. I cant believe there was NO ONE in the entire hotel that could not bring a roll of tissue to my room. (which should've been in the room in the first place) The next day I stop in the business office around 8:30am and overhear someone being cursed out in the next room. The words were "I don't give a dam, get your ass up there and clean those rooms". I was shocked that even though I heard it through a closed door, they still should have been mindful that voices travel. I tried for 2 days to get some replaced coffee for the coffee maker in my room...I was told there was none on the carts when they came to clean the room....so I went down the hall to rooms where the doors were open and guest had checked out and walked in to get coffee for my room. In addition, the trash cans were overflowing in the lobby when I checked out and the elevators were dirty with trash as well. I understand that perhaps children were there, but monitor the elevators periodically and keep them clean. Overall I was terribly disappointed and will never stay at this location ever again!!! I am checking ONE STAR only because I cant post unless I check at least ONE...they don't...
Read moreThis was my first time staying at a Hilton hotel and from all the great things I’ve heard about this chain, I must say I was not impressed AT ALL. Not only did the staff consist of one very unfriendly man, but the room left so much more to be desired. We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn Atlanta South-Mcdonough, one of many hotels I had in mind but picked because I had heard they were so great. At almost 300 dollars a night I was expecting way more than the seemingly 100 dollar a night room that I got. Rusted and moldy bathtub, broken closet door, simple beds with pillows that needed four stacked to feel like they could even be considered a pillow, and that’s just to name a few. The entire building was at least 75 degrees or above making it miserable to walk around to enjoy what I thought were amenities such as the bar. There was one friendly bartender named Sabrina but that was the extent of the good experience. There was only one staff member that we saw our entire stay, no housekeeping was seen ever, we had to clean our room including putting trash outside and asking the person at the front to pick it up just to keep up with our room. No one asked if we needed fresh sheets, towels, ANYTHING. One of the things I was looking forward to the most was the indoor pool and hot tubs, seeing as how we were there for a wedding but also a much-needed vacation, this was something I made sure to look for in a hotel. This was probably the very worst pool I’ve ever been to in my life, to the point that we couldn’t even go in. Not only was it 100 degrees in there, but the smell of chlorine was unbearable, we couldn’t stay in that room for more than 30 seconds without feeling nauseous, so therefore we were unable to get to enjoy the ONE specific thing we had chosen this hotel for. We live in Orlando Florida and have always considered Westgate Lakes Resorts to be our go to hotels because even a suite with incredible staff and amenities is rarely close to what we paid for three days at this Hilton hotel. It was more than an underwhelming experience, one that I do not wish to ever repeat. I would appreciate someone reaching out to me in an attempt to fix what was meant to be and incredible vacation at the supposed amazing Hilton Hotels. I am extremely disappointed and embarrassed that it was me who chose this stay for myself and my...
Read moreI can't say enough good things about this hotel or the staff. It was our first experience with a Hilton Garden Inn; we chose it on the advice of friends who liked the chain. Very nicely surprised by almost everything!|First, spotlessly clean. And I mean, spotless. Check in was a breeze, the staff were more than nice. The parking lot is very brightly lit, leading to a sense of safety for your vehicle (although make sure your window curtains work or you'll think it's morning all night long!)|But the food was what really surprised us. Chef Jayla was on that night. Her Cobb salad with chicken was equal to or better than anything I've had elsewhere. I wish the blue cheese dressing had been homemade, or of a bit higher quality, but the salad was great - fresh vegetables, chicken done perfectly (not at all rubbery for a change, and nicely seasoned). Our daughter had the spicy shrimp tacos and wanted to stay another night just to have them again.|The next morning at breakfast, with a different chef, we heard a woman order a "runny cheese omelette". The chef asked her twice to make sure that's what she wanted, but she was adamant. And when it came, she told everyone there that it was the best "omelette baveuse" she'd had since France 40 years before. |Our servers, Regan (sp?) and Ashley (also sp?) were marvelous.|My only quarrel with this hotel is the lack of baggage carts. There are only two carts for the entire hotel, and both are that awful kind with a large hole at the back and the end, so if you only have small soft luggage you will wind up with it dragging on the floor. Also there is no check-in check out for carts so no incentive for people to return them. The morning we checked out, we ate breakfast at 7:00 and departed after 10:00, and the two carts that were missing were still missing. I can only wish the worst on the people who hid them away in their rooms overnight. People on crutches, people with small children, and elderly people had to drag their multiple bags from rooms to elevators, down the halls and out the door. |Again they either need a check-in check out for the bag carts, or corporate need to provide four cards instead of two. |And we were on a high floor, which was pretty much out of hot water in the shower by 9 pm at night.|But we wish every hotel we stayed at...
