The Irish pub in the Memphis downtown area. The place looks laid back, with a friendly pub charm. We stopped by the place on Friday evening, and it seems they close at 7!! Come on, which pub closes the business at 7 pm on Friday 🙄🙄🙄 However, we went back on Saturday morning for brunch. The place was not much packed. There is a bar like setting, as well some tables. It was morning 11ish, and we were not in a mood of drinking any Irish coffee that time. So we just drank water. Both of ordered the Irish breakfast, which they serve all day. Irish breakfasts have always been my favorite. Honestly I have had better experience elsewhere. The portion size seems not much as compared to the price. There was a couple of sausages, toasted breads, eggs, and beans, black pudding, bacon, grilled mushroom and tomato. The grilled mushroom was not that good. The grilled tomato even didn’t have any grill mark on it! The bacons were not that good. And there was not potato on the plate. However. I expected at least some potato as a part of the meal. Overall I would say it was decent, not too bad, but definitely not the best one.

Was in walking distance from the job and a coworker mentioned that they had good fish. Upon entering the place looked really small but my coworker said there was seating upstairs. While waiting to be seated (which was very short-a minute or 2) I couldn't help but notice that every seated was enjoying the "fish and chip" which from , at a glance, liiked delicious. The waited was extremely short, maybe a minute or two before we were very warmly by an Irish gentleman (later identified as the owner) who seated us. Everyone on my party ordered.. fish and chip....surprise!!! It came out quickly and let ne jut say, it was divine.3 pieces. Light and crispy on the outside and nice and flaky on the inside. The best fish i have tasted in a while. Needless to say, I am putting this one on the books to visit again. The ambiance was nice as well. The owner as well as another gentleman, checked on us regularly and the owner gave friendly conversation for a bit. Heard the Irish stew was delicious too 😋.

Excellent, excellent, EXCELLENT!! From the food, to the staff, to the decor, and even the location,I have nothing but rave reviews about The Brass Door. It's an Irish restaurant that makes you feel at home no matter where you're from. As soon as I entered I felt as if I were coming home being greeted by lifelong friends. It was a very relaxed atmosphere but the food was on par with any fine dining establishment and the Irish options on the menu provided a uniquely Irish twist that certainly did not disappoint! The drinks from the bar were refreshing and not diluted and the staff from the front to the back of the house were honestly beyond reproach! Will I be back? You can guarantee that! And I'm telling everyone to please not make the mistake of overlooking this location on your next Memphis stop!

We always come to this pub to watch arsenal games but lately, and to be exact yesterday 05/31 was the worst day at the brass door. From the moment we walked in,there was no anticipation whatsoever from the servers. We had to find seats on our own and when we asked if certain seats were occupied the blonde waitress rolled her eyes and said she had no idea.NO IDEA!!Does she even work there?!or was it her first day at customer service?Very poor standards indeed.I ordered a Caesar salad and when the plate came it looked like dog food or like a 5 year old had chopped up the lettuce.everyone around us literally was silent as the unbothered server, male, slim with glasses dropped the plate before me and enjoyed seeing the embarassed look on my face.My boyfriend on the other hand had ordered a burger which ended up NEVER SHOWING UP and after eonses of waiting, with no response from any of the servers or even an apology over the salad wannabe,we eventually left, very unsatisfied and RACIALLY PROFILED customers. All they did was crouch up in a group and talk as they laughed and chatted.I would not recommend people of colour to go there HONESTLY..AVOID this place by all means.I am traumatised. Is it a crome to be a person of colour that even serving me is a...

Looking for an uncomfortable night of being shamed and disrespected? Head to the brass door. I showed up late to meet friends and had one beer. I didn't leave a tip for the one beer because it took the bartender at 10 minutes to get my drink even though we were the only patrons, he seemed to be upset that he couldn't watch the Grizzlies playoff game. As I was leaving the bartender looked right at me, flipped me off, and yelled across the bar "thanks for the tip a**hole." It felt like he was trying trying to pick a fight or something. It's no surprise to me that when the rest of downtown Memphis is crowded and busy with a Redbirds baseball game and playoff Grizzlies game, this place was dead and empty. Anyway, you lost not only my but my friends future business over a $1 tip that you didn't deserve in the first place. I hate to blame an entire bar for one guy being a jerk, but he represented your business about as poorly as possible. There's a lot of great places to go in downtown Memphis, the brass door is not...
