We chose NASSAU SUITE HOTEL based on the photos on the booking site.
The price on the hotel was more expensive than on the booking site, we still paid for the accommodation at the hotel as we wanted to support the hotel.
When paying the hotel we were offered breakfast in addition to the hotel rate for an additional $192 for 3 days, which we paid for the entire stay.
We checked in around 3pm and went exploring the city. After arriving late to our room, we discovered cockroaches. The situation could not be resolved as it was the weekend and we were told that the manager was not at the hotel that weekend.
The next day we visited the breakfast place which was next to the hotel. The breakfast was good. Towards the end of the breakfast, the waiter came to us with a bill for $165.
I told the waiter that we had prepaid for breakfast at the hotel, so we had paid the bill.
The waiter contradicted me, so I went to the hotel to resolve the situation.
We tried to resolve the situation at the front desk of the hotel, but to no avail. We were only told after breakfast that we could only choose one yogurt or one toast. Which is really insufficient for a breakfast of this value.
Considering the fact that the luxury hotels next door offer a lavish breakfast buffet worth $50 including tax. Thus, the breakfast bill was not at all in line with reality and reality.
I asked what they propose to do about the situation. It was just said: 'You have to pay this amount'.
So we wanted to cancel breakfast for the remainder of our stay, as the price of breakfast was absolutely not in line with what the competition was providing at a much lower price.
We were told that this was not possible. That they would keep the money for our breakfast and that we were not entitled to any more breakfasts on their part. For we had used up our entire budget for the first breakfast.
Tired and sad about the whole situation, we arrived at our room where we were still stuck with the cockroaches.
Unfortunately, it was only on the last day that we were moved to another room, a lower category at that.
I addressed the whole situation with the manager, who unfortunately acted very superior and unpleasant, which did not help the whole situation at all.
I don't even want to mention the fact that we chose the hotel based on the services, especially the fitness center. However, the hotel's fitness center was littered with cushions from the lounge chairs by the pool so we had no room to exercise.
Overall, we are sad about this experience.
I am sorry but I do not recommend this hotel because of its attitude towards the customer and the cockroaches...
Read moreI booked this hotel three months in advance and unfortunately had a disappointing experience from start to finish. I never received a check-in reminder or confirmation email and had to call the night before to ensure my reservation was still valid.
Upon arrival, the surrounding area did not feel safe or welcoming. There was a heavy police presence, and while trying to park I was approached by teenagers making inappropriate comments. Outside the neighboring Walgreens, there were women attempting to solicit passersby, which added to the uncomfortable atmosphere.
The hotel’s advertised parking was misleading—there was no on-site lot, only street parking or valet service for $48/day. Valet ensured a 20-minute retrieval time but took over 35 minutes, which was stressful when trying to leave for the airport.
The “King Suite” was much smaller than expected even just for two people to stay and felt more like a basic room- with a claustrophobic layout and no real view—just rooftops covered in clothes, tarps, and trash from nearby homeless encampments. Noise carried easily throughout the night due to the building’s age and size. I also didn't like that there was not an additional safety lock on our hotel room door as most other hotels offer this feature. We were not feeling very safe in the given environment upon arrival and the lack of safety measures, such as a security latch or chain on the door, did not comfort us in this situation.
Amenities were also limited. The pool and bar were locked/ closed to guests at sunset, meaning we could only use them for a few hours after check-in. This was not made clear during booking and felt misleading.
The only plus side to our stay was that the room and bathroom, although small, were both clean. Overall, the combination of the location, misleading advertising, lack of communication, and subpar room experience means I would not stay here again or recommend...
