Made reservations for 7 days, for my husband and I's 25th wedding anniversary. Even though we were told in advance that the hot tub didn't provide the jets, we thought the balcony with the chairs, the outside upstairs lounge area would be enough to make up for that. We knew it was more of an airbnb rather than hotel, but this should NOT be advertised as a penthouse. The room is cleaned like a 10yr old cleans. There's greasy marks on the doors, gross food or fecal marks all over the walls, there was gum on the sitting chair, candy on the dusty floor, the rainshower shower head didn't work, and the most disturbing part, my husband reached into the safe, only to pull out a DIRTY SYRINGE!!! An actual needle that had what looked like cloudy liquid inside of it. How in the world can you say you cleaned a room with all that in there?!? That could've been a lethal moment in our lives, rather than a peaceful celebration which is what we wanted. We tried calling for room service, no answer, only to be told later their phones aren't working. But the way to call room service...? The phone across from the toilet!!! Why? After night 1 was over, and we got no sleep from the horrific hard bed, the pillows that were laughable and the bedding that seemed dirty too, we decided to pay the money to move hotels. When I told the managing people what happened, she asked if she could simply change us to a different room, that she guaranteed had no syringes, and said we could check out the room before we changed, to verify it was clean. THAT'S NOT MY JOB!! I paid $3500 and expected to have a clean room with no leftover drugs from previous tenants, I shouldn't have to check for them. I've added photos, so they can't say I've made this up. We were in that room from 7pm on Thur to 1130am on Fri. This was such a mistake. My husband and I don't stay at pretentious hotels, we enjoy low-key, but CLEAN places. This was outlandishly unacceptable on every level. If you're a 20yr old group, looking to party, go ahead, it's a spot to try out. If you're a couple in your 40s, I imagine it's exactly opposite of what you're hoping for. Considering we stayed less than 24hrs, I would be quite impressed if they offered any sort of refund considering we left due to the absolute despicable fact that we were put in direct danger from a possible drug or disease infested syringe. I won't take the chance to stay there and be put in that position. I travel once a month for my company, and we use so many hotels. I know that this one will never be on our companies list of hotels. And I'll be sure that I tell all who listen how this place runs their rooms. Please beware when choosing this for...

Read moreUnfortunately, this accommodation cannot be recommended. Like many others, we did not have a good experience here.
Although there were cheaper options in the same location we deliberately chose a more expensive facility as we wanted to spend some carefree days with our 11 month old daughter.
Unfortunately, this wish was not fulfilled as we found cockroaches in our room. We immediately contacted SBV by phone (which is the only way they can be contacted, the reception in the building is from another hotel) and were assigned a new room. Unfortunately, there were cockroaches in this one as well. Again we called them and asked for a refund, since we did not want to stay in a room with cockroaches and wanted to switch hotels. We are aware that the bookings are non-refundable, however, due to cockroaches and baby there is an extraordinary reason here. The lady told us she’ll talk to management and call us back, which never happened. Since then it was not possible to reach them via phone.
In the end we stayed in the room because we cannot afford to book another one. However, we were very disappointed with the whole experience.
There were also other points which we have to complain about. First, the room we booked was described as having a total size of 700 square feet (including the balcony). However, it is unfortunately only about 600 square feet (including balcony), i.e. about 15% too little. The size of room and balcony can easily be derived from counting the tiles on the floor, which are 15.748inch (or 40cm) on each side. Secondly, the floor was very dirty. This is a major concern for us as our daughter crawls on the floor. I have wiped the floor several times with a wet towel and there are still dark spots on the towel to be seen.
Needless to say, this condition does not correspond to our idea of a luxury apartment. Furthermore we came to Miami to have a relaxed vacation and not to worry about cockroaches / to call hotlines / be upset about the situation.
Additionally, some things to know before booking here: Parking costs 50$ / night in the building, one block away there’s parking for 20$ / night You have to upload pictures (front/back) of your creditcard to some weird online portal. This is super insecure! SBV can only be contacted via phone. Also, most of the times the answering machine answers, so be prepared to call endless times should there be any issue. = all of these things you only get to know after you booked.
PS It's really interesting to see how the owner replies by basically calling me a liar. Everything I wrote is 100% true. Unfortunately, this behavior shows how unthrustworthy...
