So after a few days in Orlando we finally made it to this extended Stay in Miami (July 14th) where everything seemed to be fined. Area looks dangerous and I was not wrong. We made it to the hotel and we were surprised that we had to pay extra for parking ($15 PER NIGHT). The night before leaving the hotel someone broke into our car and stole everything we had in there. They broke the window and basically took everything. We went to the front desk and called the police and filed the report. Front desk or the manager were really nice ONLY AT THE MOMENT. They said that they were going to file a report with the company insurance and to pay for our things. They wrote everything down of much things they stole from us and blah blah. The people that were in the front desk that morning took note of everything. They asked how much money we lost and what items. Also, we couldn't move the car because CSI was coming to take fingerprints and stuff like that so we weren't certain of how much we lost since we couldn't get in the car since police had to do their job first. They said once we could go in the car to look and see what else were missing and that they would update with the insurance company. I nicely went back and told them that the money was still there but they took every else including watches, merchandise and several camera lenses. Later that day we came back and the general manger was there and i introduced myself and she told me that she had already filed the report and that the insurance will contact me to update the list of things that were stolen from the car. i was never given a case number or anything except from the police. Now that i'm back home i still have not gotten a call from the hotel insurance company. I called the hotel to see what was going on and basically the person talking to me (general manager) just laughed over the phone and said "good luck with that phone call" basically saying that they not responsible for anything. I tried calling back and looked like they knew my number saved since they would answer the phone in a rude way "what do you want." She just kept repeating herself over and over again and saying that they are not responsible even though you pay for parking. Later on today she just left a voice mail and didn't even bother to call and be nice just like any other professional person in charge...

The location is perfect where everything you need is within a mile of the building. Walgreens is across the street and Brickell (the collection of restaurants and nightly hangouts) is just a few blocks away. They have laundry facilities onsite. Everything at the location was a real treat. The staff and the guests all spoke to each other like a great big family. Everyone was willing to help everyone else out. It was a very welcome experience.
Every morning I came down to see the friendly face of Ana. She would smile and wish me a wonderful morning. Thank you for making every morning more wonderful than the last.
I would stop by the desk and spend a few minutes talking to her and Jenny (Jannelis - the General Manager). Thank you for all the wonderful and enlightening conversations. It is not often I met someone of your age who is as insightful and intelligent.
Most evenings I could come down and speak to Lucy (the Manager) who would get the brunt of my torment (lol) since she is successfully juggling a full time job, a full time school schedule and family and I can relate most to that experience. She was always willing to help in anyway I asked. Thank you for reminding me of "why not".
Gloria is the night time desk clerk. She was usually busy dealing with clients or other responsibilities. I washed my clothes and one of my shirts came out with black spots. I was quick to blame the facilities and Gloria immediately jumped and offered to make it right. Within an hour my shirt came back perfectly clean and pressed. Thank you for going above and beyond.
There were 3 housekeepers Carla, Odayn, Josie, each was super professional and accommodating in every way. Thank you so much for your wonderful work.
I have stayed at many hotels in my time. Many are rated at 5 stars, I have never felt more at home than with the Extended...
Read moreBooked a stay for 2 night to have a get away weekend with my father for the cubs game. I work for a very high luxury hotel myself so my expectations are very high to begin with, but I let him choose a hotel he wanted to stay at. Issues from the moment we walked through the door. 5 minutes after being in the room they called up to inform us about a pet fee for having a dog which is fine, confirmed the price and the conversation was done with it (so we thought) then, 10 minutes after checking into the room the fire alarm was blinking and making a weird noise so I made sure the battery wasnt dead and moved it around only to receive a call from the desk accusing me of tampering with it and was told it’s a felony to tamper with it, LOL please I know my laws and do not need to be told I’m doing something I wasn’t. They never came up to check or confirm anything was wrong with it or anything, just a rude phone call. I then proceeded to place my clothes away where I then found dirty clothes from the previous guest that was never checked. Great room inspection I’d say. LAST and the cherry on top of the cake, came back to the hotel after the cubs game at 11:15 to find us locked out of the room. I’m pregnant and tired and that’s the last thing I want to deal with. Go down to the desk and was told it was because of the pet fee. WHY WASNT THIS EXPLAINED TO ME WHEN YOU CALLED MY ROOM 5 MINUTES AFTER CHECK IN? You had to inconvenience me at almost midnight about something you could have told me to come down and pay at 4:00pm this afternoon. Horrible customer service. Completely unprofessional. You need better communication skills and learn how to not inconvenience your guests. I will never...
