We stayed here for the 3rd time in September 2025 in Room #2908. We had 2 reservations in 2 names: 1) weekend Ambassador certificate for 1st 2 nights in spouse's name (Platinum level) and 2) paid 3rd night in my name (Diamond level). We only use my spouse's name as primary at IHG 3 nights a year: 2 night weekend Ambassador certificate and annual Chase free night; otherwise my name is used as primary in order to strive for 40 IHG nights so I can choose annual Club Lounge membership, which is available at many, but not all, Intercontinentals and a very few remaining Crowne Plazas and maybe a few others! I contacted the hotel a week or so in advance so that we could stay in same room all 3 nights. I added lounge access to my spouse's reservation but booked mine w/o since I receive anyway. The per night rate with the added lounge access was more than the 3rd night, but that night, a Sunday, was the least crowded night where as the Saturday night was probably a full hotel with a full Club Lounge as well! Victoria T responded to my emails and took care of everything in advance. At check-in, I mentioned her name which she heard since she was at the next station. She came over "to put a face with the name", and also her manager, Pier, stepped out of the back area. They were very professional and welcoming. As IHG Diamond, I can choose a free breakfast as my welcome amenity (they also gave me points!) so I requested such for Monday morning. Unlike our 1st visit when I thought they were charging me an 18% tip (based on regular price) on my free breakfast, I now realized after our stay in July at the Intercontinental Boston that this was just procedure so that staff would receive something-the full amount with tip was removed from my bill as was done the 3 nights in Boston. I apologize for my actions in June 2024 on our 1st stay when I made a big deal about the added tip to my "free" breakfast. One of the perks for the Ambassador program that we renew each year, either with IHG points or $$, is a $20 credit per stay for food & beverage, including the overpriced mini-bar in the room. For my spouse's Platinum Ambassador credit, we took a can of Diet Coke ($6) and a cube of peanut M&Ms ($14) from the top area above the fridge. The $20 total was removed from the bill without any issues. For my $20 credit, we used for lunch along with some soon-to-be expiring IHG $20 Food & Beverage certificates that I receive at my 20 and 30 IHG night levels. At my 20 night level this year and going forward, I will choose the 5000 point option instead so I don't have to worry about these expiring; I used 3 of 4 along with the Ambassador credit for our Monday lunch in Toro Toro, located in the lobby; I charged lunch to the room, of course, so these could be applied, again no issues. Toro Toro (see a separate review on TA) also adds 18% tip, regardless of quality of service. We had decent service this time unlike breakfast at Ole in June 2024, but it still gives the waitstaff an opportunity to do the bare minimum! It seems to be the standard procedure at most Miami restaurants (not Meraki nearby who has no forced tip or credit card fee!).|The room was the best ever with no issues whatsoever (1st stay outlet by my side of bed only worked with entry light on-we left on 1st night and then found longer extension card for remaining nights) and (2nd stay minimal hot water in shower-they said it was due to corner room). We had corner room on this stay and had ample, quick hot water in tub, shower, and sink! Everything was spotless on arrival and cleaned properly on both in-between days, although there was no floormat with hand-towel stuffed inside for the tub on day 3 (left in the far corner of tub on days 1 and 2), but no big deal! This was our highest room ever (on the 29th floor with Club Lounge in one of the other 2 points of the triangle) and offered great views of the cruise port, the beach in the distance, and more! There was a very comfortable king-sized bed, a chaise lounge in the corner, and a decent TV (my issue there is that they could use more channels and also note that Miami has a new ABC affiliate as of mid-September, and this channel was not available?).|The Club Lounge was great as always. It is open until 8 p.m., but Happy Hour only runs from 5-7 p.m. If one wants more to drink after 7 p.m., then fill some wine glasses (as we did nights 1 and 3) or stockpile several Ultra beer (as we did night 2). There was one snippy person in the lounge the last night who didn't want to refill the rose wine at 6:55, but her assistant did such so we were able to top off our glasses! I didn't get either name! The evening food in the lounge is so good (different beef dishes each night we were there) and filling enough so that it is not necessary to go out for dinner (money saved!). The breakfast in the lounge is decent but only scrambled eggs (maybe a frittata or similar as well). I had asked Pier at check-in about an omelet in the Club Lounge, and he seemed to offer such, but I didn't ask the 2 mornings we had breakfast there so not sure what the response would have been? In both the Club Lounge and Ole, they need sugar-free jelly and syrup, but this was also the case in Boston. Don't they realize that Type 2 diabetes is common in older adults?? I was disappointed that the staff claimed that the TV's in the lounge could only be on the boring art slide show or 1 pre-set channel per TV-they use these at breakfast but run the art slides the rest of the day. I wanted to watch college football on Saturday afternoon; at least, one TV was preset to ESPN so I had 1 choice! I still don't know why they can't manually change the channels? (What would they have done if one of the preset channels had been on the old ABC station?-it wasn't; they were CNN, MSNBC, and one other I forget)|In conclusion, this was our best visit here yet. With the medium speed train (we've ridden the high speed ones in Europe) from Orlando to Miami (stop less than a mile from hotel and easy access via free Metro Mover ride or $6 Lyft/Uber ride), we will visit here often, especially when certificates, coupons, etc. are expiring. Based on the service by everyone (except the one woman in the lounge Sunday night), the upgrades received, the ease of arrival and departure plus many good lunch options nearby, we will be...

You will literally get the best sleep of your life at this hotel. They have the best beds, linens and pillows.
They have refillable water in the lobby. You can also ask any of the bartenders to fill your reusable container with ice, water and citrus.
Their club lounge is so worth it! Book directly through IHG Rewards to get it for free or as an add on. Normally it is $150 per day. It is located on the 29th floor with beautiful city views! They have three main events during the day:
Breakfast (Superb)
Afternoon tea time (meh)
Happy Hour with light bites (EXTRAORDINARY)
The security manager is tough. They do check that you have access for that day.
Breakfast was a wide selection of breads, pastries/desserts, cerials, chia pudding cups, veggies, charcuterie, boiled eggs, some hot items, etc. Juices, seltzer, coffee and teas.
The sliced fruit was dragon fruit, melons, pinapples, watermelon - all perfectly ripe
Their fruit bowl had the most amazing bosc pears
The only items missing were sourdough bread
Bottled seltzer (it comes out as fountain drink)
Afternoon tea was meh. Some sandwiches like cheese and ham, brie with jam, etc. and a few desserts.
Their tea choice is not that great
Refills or refreshed sandwiches was slow
But they had the most amazing wasabi peas
Happy hour is where you get the most bang for the buck!
First night: filet mignon was the main - cooked perfectly to medium rare
2nd night: octopus paella, with a garnish of 2 HUGE shrimps (the size of your face), that you can get when they first refill
They had sushi platter (but the rice was dried out, seemed like leftovers)
Hummus cups with veggies
Cucumber salad
Shrimp cocktail cups in a light vinagrette
Grilled veggies like cauliflower steak
Desserts
Wine, beer, supplies to make your own cocktails
Ginger ale
Canned Sodas
The room was soo roomy but lighting was dim (except for the lighting in the bathroom). It comes with a shower and a bathtub. The water pressure is weak, well I was on the 32nd floor. My maid did not completely set me up, missing coffee supplies, etc. The room also comes with a robe.
Be warned: their A/C is way too strong. Freezing cold. They don't have heating so it's not HVAC. To get someone comfortable I had to put the A/C all the way up to 89 degrees to be warm and slept in my robe. If you call downstairs they do offer space heaters.
The pool is kind of sad, small. They said heated but it was cold. There is no jacuzzi. But you do get access to the steam room and sauna in the spa area.
There are great outdoor lounge areas. The food by the bar is ok. I got agua chiles, not the best, but hungry so I ate it a high speed.
Their bar/toro toro restaurant kitchen closes early on Sunday night. They only offer drinks and maybe some chips.
I had their asparagus grilled, it was too charred with too much sauce and sesame seeds
Their cheese bread with salso was DELISH and out of this world
Service was kinda lacking, food came out but I had to wait for my silverware and napkins
The bellman are very strong and helpful. The entry way is 2 sets of stairs. Although there is a ramp, it is all the way to the side of the bldg, a long walk.
Housekeeping forgot to clean my room and make my bed 2 days, but it was easily resolved with a text to hotel staff.
They have a QR code for the housekeeping staff, but they should have it for every employee
To tip the Club Lounge employee I had to go get cash
I also got to enjoy the spas services: 50 min anti aging facial and hair cut. The dry cut was very reasonable $50 + tip. Everywhere at this hotel there is an automatic 20% tip.
The concierge team was amazing. I was trying to get to an Equinox location, they provided me a map of the free train system and gave me good directions.
The front desk is kinda slow, long wait trying to check out.
Our CCIM Group was here for a JWL Leadership conference. The catering for food / beverage and desserts was...
Read moreUpon checking in the front desk, clerk was very nice. He was very informative. He inform us all of the abilities at the hotel had also some hot spots to visit while we were there. I was there to make a great impression on a new business partner who I was to do business with upon checking in and going up to my room, my love just brought up and I had it stacked right by the bathroom door. We were in the room all of 10 minutes and we found hair in the bed on the pillows on both sides Long thin black hair. Upon further review, there was more hair in the bed made up in the sheets. The bed was crisp, but upon pulling the sheets back and found more hair, after calling downstairs and informing the front desk of the situation with the room, being unsanitized and not clean properly, they informed me that they would have someone come up and assist with the situation or dilemma that I had. I waited two hours and upon checking with the front desk again and informed me that they apologize that they would have someone come up as soon as possible. I waited another hour before me and my husband went out to a local Walmart and bought sheets ourselves. We literally made the bed up with the new sheets that we bought from the local Walmart we could barely sleep through the night even after going and purchasing our own bedsheets. The next morning we went to the front desk and checked out we were supposed to be staying for five days, but we could not stay there again another night so we both agreed that we would just check out of that hotel and go to another hotel, we were told that someone would be up to assist us twice. Nobody ever showed up nobody ever called. Nobody ever came to the room. No one mentioned it upon checking out the next morning upon checking out the next morning. I was told that I made a phone call to a 305 Number was considered to be a local number which I have not made any phone calls from the hotel phone. Also they tried to charge me for some chocolate covered walnuts that she said was taken out of the minibar we never took anything from the minibar and upon informing the clerk at the front desk that we did not take anything from the bar she asked me to hold on one second and sent somebody up to the room to verify that there was nothing removed from said minibar, the guy or gentleman that she sent up to the room to check, came back down and said that I was correct that there was nothing taken from the minibar and everything was still there she apologized and proceeded to check me out after dealing with the hair being in the bathroom after dealing with the hair being in the shower after dealing with the hair being on the beds after dealing with having to go out and buy my own sheets to physically be able to sleep a little comfortably and being accused of making a long distance, phone call and being accused of removing something from the minibar I was over it at that point. I was not about to stay there or even recommend that anyone of my close friends and family to stay there out of all the IHG properties that I have visited this far was the worst experience yet I thrive on becoming A diamond member as I am not a platinum elite member. I don’t think that I will be staying at anymore of the IHG properties and this saddens me as I have been a great great customer and patriot to the IHG company I left a review the day after and was told that someone would give me a call that phone call has yet to happen. I have not received a call at all. I’ve also been receiving charges to my debit card that should not be there. The charges are under $20 but I’ve been receiving several of these charges since the time that I checked out, I don’t know if the charges are coming from a certain part of the hotel but the charges were not something that I authorized or that I gave my permission to be on my credit card. This was an unpleasant stay and I really hope that they correct all...
