Ms. Marilyn and Cindy have hands of Heaven, personalities personalities of Angels.
Oh what an experience! This spot was definitely a 10 Star business located inside of a 5 Star hotel! Everything was perfect from entry to exit! Once I located the spa which was on the 4th floor at the beautiful Intercontinental Hotel, it was true heaven from there! We were immediately greeted by very nice lady that was at the front podium who had us sit down and complete paperwork regarding on massages and preferences. We were offered beverages such as champagne and mimosa as we were introduced to our masseuses. My husband and I were able to get massages in the same room and it was beautiful. So nice and tranquil. We were given robes and slippers to put on as we prepare for our 2 hours of pampering. My masseuse Marilyn had hands of gold! She was very very good by pin pointing all of by stress triggers as providing the best massage that I've ever received. My facial was just as stellar as my massage. The products were all sinfully delightful and my skin was smooth as a baby's bottom when she finished. I swear I could have stayed on my massage table for another 3 hours if I didn't have an agenda for the day.
After our facials were completed, we were given a detailed assessment. My husband and I were shown many products that were available for purchase to relieve the stresses that our skin constantly endures. There was no pressure with buying anything, just recommendations.
Immediately following our massages, we were shown the relaxation room which was just that. All you can hear was running waters and a tranquil scene of running water down a beautiful tiled wall with different warm colors on it.
I highly highly recommend this spa to anyone in search of a fantastic masseuse, beautifully decorated clean space, professional service and a...
Read moreBy far the worst manicure experience ever. The nail technician seemed very distracted and anxious, as if she was being chased by someone. She kept looking over my shoulder, giving anxious looks. This was while she was filing my nails, so she barely looked at my nails when she was filing them. I asked if everything was okay and if she needed to get some water, and she said that she was just tense with no further comment. I understand that she may have had a bad day, but her lack of professionalism was intolerable. Going into the salon and expecting to have a relaxing experience, I did not get the relaxing vibe at all! Not to mention, her mani service was the sloppiest one I have ever received! My six-year-old niece could better than that. She didn’t seem like she knew what she was doing (hesitating between some steps, putting the wrong base coat then correcting it, doing the worst cuticle job and polishing nails). She even asked if I WANTED the fan to dry my nails (I got a regular mani, not shellac). Even someone who doesn’t get their nails often would know that the fan is always provided to have the nails dried before leaving the salon. I should have said something to the nail technician or the manager while I was there, but frankly, I just wanted to get the hell out of that place. Oh, did I mention that I paid $90 including tip (20% gratuity is automatically applied)? Never coming back or recommending mySpa for nail services. FYI, the photo was taken right after I returned home before...
Read moreHad a pedicure at mySpa this morning. Ananda was spectacular. Personable and friendly. My nails look great. If I lived in Miami I’d be a regular. She is great at her job and really made my day. She gets 5 stars! If I could give her 6 stars I would! The 5 star review for Ananda is slightly tempered by a not so glowing review of the spa in general. While the staff was out of this world, the spa itself needs a little boost. Tiles have seen better days, the relaxation room had dirty cups, wet towels, and disheveled blankets all three times I used it. There were 2 toilets in the ladies changing room that wouldn’t flush. Not huge deals, but worth noting for sure. I’m not a regular at spas, so I’m not complaining as perhaps this next point is just preference, but several of the ladies in the relaxation room mentioned how disappointing it was you had to go to the main lobby (which is also the hallway to the pool) to ask for tea or water and they all thought it was strange that there were no small snacks or drinks in the relaxation room. Again, I can only refer to one other spa personally, but it had small bags of pretzels and many choices of beverages (tea, coffee, water, soft drinks). Over all, it was a relaxing fun vacation treat for the day! I’d go again. Perhaps the negatives were just unmet expectations of what I assumed a very nice hotel’s spa...
