Ok, I had to stay here 3 months for work...let me tell you SOME of what I had to deal with.
Had a sprinkler system start leaking in the middle of the night, was told the following morning that I would have to swap rooms, but they didn't have any so they would let me know. Came back that night was told it was fixed....at 10pm had to swap rooms because it was still leaking.
Had a room that the AC that wouldn't come on
Had a room that the AC wouldn't shut off
Sent to a room that wasn't cleaned....twice
Sent to a room that was occupied
Had a room that didn't have soap(they have the little pump dispensers...never installed)
Had a room that the shampoo was filled full of water
Had a room with 3 hairdryers on the sink(petty I know but still a good example)
Several times I had to go get towels as my room had 1 or sometimes none
Had a room that the TV didn't work (tvs regularly cut in and out)
Stayed on the 1st floor the night the pool alarm malfunctioned and would go off every 2 minutes
Sent to a room that someone had pried the door open and broke the lock and latch, bent the door frame and left it so the door wouldnt close....maintenance guy came up laughed, tightened the strike plate...called it good
Had a room that the shower leaked all over the bathroom floor, told maintenance....spent a week with a wet bathroom floor.
Had a room that the toilet leaked all over the floor
Had a room with wet carpet
Reserved a room for a month, was told it was until Friday a day after I checked in, called the front desk on Wednesday to say it was for a month and was told I would be called by the GM (Julie)and we would get it straight...no call. Friday I was given a check out receipt and was told there were no rooms available for Friday and Saturday night but if I find another hotel for those 2 days I could come back after that.
I'm an IHG Diamond Elite member...trust me...that means NoThInG....
The GM (Julie) gives lip service..."I'm so sorry...this isn't normal....your stay is unusual" yadayadayada. She does nothing...no room comp, no "hey let me see if we can adjust your price"....nothing. Stands and smiles at you while telling you she's sorry.
She's about as useless as the maintenance guy.
Front desk people are very nice and accommodating but they can only do so much.
I'm sure, directly after this post, you will see a post from Holiday Inn (Julie) about how sorry they are that my stay wasn't up to par, this is unusual, etc.....lip service. If you can't find a place somewhere else, take your chances here, but if you can find a place somewhere else...do it.
Even if your an IHG member and want the points..go somewhere else..the points don't...
Read moreI am not one to complain about hotels for the simple reason I go there to take my son swimming and that's all. Last Saturday I spent $192 on a room. Check in time was 3pm so we checked in shortly after that. We went to the pool almost immediately after where they was having a birthday party for a little girl. The hour we were there swimming was great! They had the pool heated, the water sprinklers on, the dump buckets all the things that made the pool very fun for my son. When the pool party was over around 4ish the hotel attendent came in and shut it off. I asked her if she could turn it back on since the reason we chose this hotel was for my son to go swimming. Her reply was that it needed to be off because it gets so hot in there the humidity sets the fire alarm off. I understood and asked what time she would be able to turn it back on and she said 8 or 830. This was around 4. We swam for awhile with all the pool stuff off and decided to go back to the room and order pizza. Around 7ish we went back to the pool but I had asked if they could turn the pool stuff back on and she said no not for a little while longer. When we got into the pool around 7ish the pool was so cold my son and I could barley swim it was so cold. Other people had joined us and we had chit chatted about it being to cold for us adults but also the kiddos that were swimming had their lips turning blue and shivering. About this time it was the 4th time I had asked them to turn it back on and it was 830. The lady rudly told me she had been to busy and forgotten but she will turn it backok. I thanked her and walked back to the pool. 5min later she came in and said no she can not turn the pool toys on. The next morning I had called down about 9am and asked if she could turn the pool toys on I wanted to take my son swimming before check out. The hour we had swam from 9am to 10am was warm and fun untill another hotel lady came in and shut it off amd saying the same reason about the fire alarm system going off. She said in about 30 min she could turn it back on and I explained to her wat had happened the day before and she said nothing about it. This is the worst hotel I have ever taken my son to and for $192 for 1 night I will NEVER EVER go back there nor will I EVER recommend this...
Read moreThis is a great hotel to stay in. We had no major issues. Wanted to mention that my husband who is 6 ft tall could not reach the shower head because it is so high up. So if you need to point the shower head in another direction good luck. This hotel location has done away with the individual soaps, shampoo's ect. and replaced them with pump bottles on the wall in the shower. You do get a bar of soap at the sink for washing your hands. ||||The room was nicely decorated but the lighting was a bit dark in the room. Inside the room the ceiling light by the door was really dim. The carpet was in great shape. It has a fridge, microwave, & coffee maker. ||||Also I used the plug that was in the lamp base on the desk to charge my phone and it took forever to charge even though the lamp base said it was a 3.4a plug. When I needed to charge the phone again I used the wall plug and it charged much faster. ||||We did not eat breakfast here but we did spent time in the evening in the breakfast area. There are two sections to this room. One section has a nice gas fireplace with comfortable seating by it with a couch. The other part of the room has a long high top table with seating for about 10 people. The table also has power plugs in a few spots down the length of the table. This table is also in front of a large screen TV. If a family wanted to get a pizza and have a place to sit and eat this would be a great area to do that in. There are also individual dining tables with chairs throughout the room. The whole room has a nice comfy warm feel to it.|||| The only bad thing about this newer hotel is that it has NO hot tub! ||||I saw it does have a nice laundry room but I did not use the machines so I do not know how well they work. If you forgot something there is a Walmart that is a 5 minute drive from the hotel. And there is a Texas Roadhouse across from the Walmart. Next to Texas Road house is also a Menards. There are a few other eating options near the hotel. Right next door to the hotel and within walking distance (a 2 minute walk) was a small strip center that has a Starbucks, Chipotle, and Jersey...
