15 years ago I became an Aldi fan, and itās been a great find, but their transition to self check outs breaks it for me.
I know this is the wave of the future, but efficiency of getting in and out was one of the things I loved about Aldi. I tolerated limited options because it simplified things for me. When every other store went to self check out Aldi stuck with their cashiers, and they have been in my experience twice as fast as any other store cashier. They are at least 10 times faster than what I can check out on my own, as the self check outs inevitably fail. In my last trip to Aldi, 3 of the 4 self checkouts were in an āerrorā requiring a cashier to help with. So, with the line full, the very helpful cashier had to leave her line where she was helping other customers to come āfixā the self check outs.
ALDIās had a great concept, but with this addition I canāt tell the difference between them...

Recently she had suffered her third stroke, and having the ability to navigate a store alone is a big feat for her. Aldi carts are in such great shape & height she was able to comfortably maneuver around the store. All the produce was within a good reach & displayed safely. Staff was helpful with her as well, without needing to overextend herself made her feel like she could truly do it alone. Aside from a few random items that Aldi just doesnāt carry everything we needed was in stock & within her range of motion. It gave my mother a piece of freedom & mind. And for that I thank Aldi. Although they donāt advertise theyāre setup for any accommodations their facility was setup well. Iām so grateful for a local store we can come to & she can do many things here....

I figured they wernt allowed to give boxes out and walked away. Another stocker almost ran my son over with the pallet jack. He yelled at my son for getting in his way. And when we were checking out my other son asked the cashier what her name is. She refused to answer him. I explained to her heis just trying to be friendly and will tell you his name. She rolled her eyes and gave him a guys name with major attitude. My son was hurt and backed away. When i paid for my stuff and went to bag it up i noticed she put my eggs on the bottom and everything on top of them. I was so upset i will never go back. I would rather...
