I frequently use the mobile app and took advantage of the Order ahead feature that I find to be above-average but not great yet. When I get to the drive-thru window with a tumbleweed rolling through the parking lot the lovely girl asks me if I know what I'd like to have and she thanked me for choosing Starbucks. However I said yes I had placed an order and would like to pick it up through the window as your front door is currently locked. She says I mobile order, oh, okay I will begin making it now. And to my astonishment I sat there another four minutes as she prepared my drink and tried to sign the soy milk and then without a stopper or even asking me for one she hands me my drink says thanks and let's the drive-thru Windows slam as she turns her back to me and disappears out of sight not the Starbucks experience or treatment that I have supported by Faithfully spending my money here. The baristas in every store are always incredibly helpful and kind and efficient.
I usually only buy when there is a discount, so that helps bring down the overpriced coffee to a more appropriate cost.
My real complaint is that the brand new Dover location was built as a drive thru only. If I am taking my drink to go, it will be from a cheaper place. A coffee shop is an experience to enjoy, not to rush through only behind the wheel. This place isn't nearly as popular as the other Starbucks, and I blame the lack of in restaurant seating. When I ordered my coffee today I asked for a venti iced coffee with classic syrup + white mocha, sweet cream cold foam & extra caramel sauce around my cup & ontop the cold foam. What I received was certainly not that. White mocha & caramel sauce layered thick in the bottom of the cup? No straw or stirring tool given, assuming I’d be traveling all day how does one properly mix their cup filled to the rim? I’m disappointed, not in the friendliness of the staff, nor the efficiency in the drive thru lane.
