Although pretty much every experience I've had with CAVA has been very positive, this one was very different, my girlfriend and I were driving around the city and decided to make a pick up order for this location and eat our food in the car.. I walk in and pick up my order, back at the car we start eating (we shared a bowl) and I notice that they forgot the serving of chicken in my order, relieved that we didn't end up taking the food back home I walk back into CAVA and let them know of the situation, the cashier reviews my food and partners with the person who's responsible for prepping the food the prepper in disbelief says outloud "this can't be they must've picked it out"
(note that it barely totaled 5-minutes between myself picking up the order, getting into the car, maybe having 2-bites of the food, noticing the chicken was not there, and walking back into the CAVA location)
The cashier appears to shrug off what the prepper says and insists on remaking my bowl, not wanting to waste food I insist that instead I'd rather the missing serving of chicken instead, ultimately the cashier decided to give me 2-servings of chicken to make-up for all the trouble which in all honesty is what prevented this review from being 1-star.
The reason for this review being as low as it is, is of course due to the prepper not acknowledging their mistake and instead blaming it on the customer, sure I understand that there's probably dirtbags who do this often, but you should assume positive intent and not ruin another's experience by invoking negativity especially when it's a simple mistake that could be corrected without that type of attitude, hopefully that prepper can take this critical feedback and grow from it.
The following information is just for the Staff Teams reference, my order was placed on 02/15 with a designated pick up time for 8:15PM the order was picked up at...
Read moreI've been coming to this location since before the pandemic and it has just been a slow decline over recent years. I love the food but I'm done. The staff is so horrible that you can't even be mad at them, you have to be mad at the manager for not handling it.
A huge group of us was there, waiting for pickup orders, including delivery drivers. They were cycling through the customers in line very quickly but none of us were getting our orders. When it was 30 minutes past the pickup window (it was 2:45 with a 2:15 pickup) I asked the cashier where our orders were. She basically whispered to me "I don't know, they don't tell me." I had to say, "but you work here" before she would even do anything about it. She went over to talk to someone and they finally started prepping our orders, so the final time was 35 minutes past my pickup and only with asking them for it.
This is just one time, right? Wrong. There is an issue basically every other time recently. Plus, in my 35 minutes I got to witness everyone else's problems. Here is a sampling:
Portions are significantly smaller while prices are way higher.
Falafel has been out multiple times but not removed from the app. If you order a burger and when you go to pick it up and they say "we don't have burgers, you can have the rest of it though," you'd be annoyed.
The cashier talks at a whisper. Whether over her job or just timid, this is not the role for her.
Constantly out of pita. They don't apologize, but if you ask for it because you think they forgot, they give you attitude.
I saw many people ask for a water cup. I don't know if they used to have them but the cashier again would quietly, and rudely, just say "no water."
Soooooo many people were just ruffled by their interaction in that place. I used to be the biggest advocate for it and now I'm not going to go. Bummer to see the major decline of a...
Read moreLet me start by saying the food at Cava is fine and the franchise on 24th and park is one of the only to go options near my office, which is why I grit my teeth and allow myself to be subjected to the rudest, most obnoxious, woefully inexperienced and incompetent staff that work there. They are outrageously disrespectful and I have witnessed them laughing about customers in front of them. They also don't listen to any orders so just constantly get everything wrong and then act annoyed when someone asks them for their original order. I recently decided to try and escalate the shameful customer service experiences I have personally experienced and bore witness to, however, (and I suppose not all that shocking given the attitudes of the staff must be coming from the tone from the top) when I asked for a manager the girl working at the checkout (the most charm-free person I have ever encountered) told me to "mind your business". I then tried to find somewhere online to submit a complaint, of course there is no such option. So the next best avenue was Google Reviews. I'm gathering given everything else I have come to know about Cava, that they likely don't have anyone manning their reviews because they really don't seem to care what paying customers think.
The people that they employ to take your order and man the checkout, go out of their way to let customers know they have no respect or regard for them as human beings and they are frankly angry to even have to be working at all.
Given the level of care Cava management apparently puts into training their staff, it would really have to make you wonder about the rest of their...
