First, I have been a small business owner and take bad reviews very seriously⌠but after trying to resolve things in person today, Country Inn & Suites deserves this reviewâŚ
Our group's director called ahead to ask about checking in early because we were coming in the morning and had a block of rooms booked and needed 1 room early (ours). When chatting prior to arriving, it seemed likely they could accommodate that - woohoo! I was even willing to pay extra for the convenience. However, when we got there in the morning, the person at the desk was surprisingly unhelpful. The other person suggested they take our number to call when the room was ready, but the first lady shot that down instantly and said, âPeople donât check out until noon. Maybe just come back in a couple of hoursâ. So, we watched dozens of people check out and leave by 9am, but she still said the room wouldnât be ready until 2. At 2, we returned to the front desk to finally check in. They called up to housekeeping asking if the room was ready, and despite housekeepingâs âyes!â, it was still not quite ready for us when we got up there. I could tell they were rushing, but⌠I had no idea just how much!!
We got in our room, threw our stuff down and quickly got ready to go out. When we got back around 8:30pm and started settling in for the first time, I realized their were 2 spots of blood on one of the sheets. We called down to the front desk twice to ask for someone to come up and swap them, but they refused. They made us strip the dirty sheets and bring them downstairs and take new sheets back up. I thought it was pretty disgusting that I had to touch sheets that had obviously not been changed. Their reasoning for not being able to bring fresh sheets up was that housekeeping wasnât there and they werenât allowed upstairs. How does a 5-story hotel only have 2 staff working and then tell them they arenât allowed to leave the front desk!? Seems like a safety issue among other things.
Also, while waiting, we asked to leave our bags in case we went out. We followed someone to a conference room and were told to put our bags in there and, âlock the door on the way outâ. No one tagged our bags or made sure we locked up. Plus, there were other peopleâs bags in there as well with easy access and no supervision. We ended up staying close by and just waiting around and until our room was ready. Several people/staff were in and out of that room all morning, leaving it unlocked. When it was time to check in, we simply walked in the room and grabbed our stuff. No one knew or cared that we were in there.
Other Things:
The whole place has a funky smell.
Though we were grateful they offered to let us eat breakfast while we were waiting for our room, the options are nothing to brag about. Cereal, yogurt, bread, eggs, (unappetizing) hashbrowns, juice, waffles⌠no meat / limited protein options.
Staff is generally not courteous and unprofessional. I expect businesses (especially in the hospitality industry) to hire/train people who arenât dismissive and rude.
We had a âDo Not Disturbâ sign on the door & maintenance knocked and woke us up for something we didnât even call about.
This didnât affect us, but I heard several guests complain that the shuttle service from the airport only runs from 5am - 9pm. For a business that specifically caters to the airport, this seems kinda ridiculous.
Only 2 towels in our room, even though they knew we had 4 people.
Beds are adequate, not great.
Walls are THIN... 11pm and i can hear lots of chatter in the halls.
FYI: Lyft/Uber to Disney will run about $50 each way.
Overall, for the price, Iâd expect better. This place falls in line with $50-$60/night hotels. It's unkempt/dirty, breakfast was lacking, and you better be prepared to go up and down quite a few times for anything you need, because their staffing is too minimal to...
Read moreWe stayed 1 day at the Country inn before our vacation and had pre-arranged staying an extra 2 after we got back from our cruise. When we got off the plane at 10am, we saw that we were unable to check in until 3pm. It was there at the front desk where we saw/heard one of the front desk employees telling multiple families (including ourselves) that our rooms were not ready..BUT if we would like to pay $25USD- they would magically have a room available right away. We decided to not pay extra and wait the 5 hours and find something todo in the meantime. The staff allowed us to put our luggage in a "locked" meeting room while we put in time before check in. We were told no one was allowed to be in there and it was strictly for luggage. When 3pm came around to check us in, the meeting room was unlocked, doors open and atleast 6 people in there hanging out- one of which was sleeping right beside our luggage. Thankfully we had locks on our suitcases but we were promised security for our luggage and that was not fulfilled. At the front desk during check-in they initially said a room would be shortly available - they were just finishing it up. My husband overheard a party of 3 complaining that they want all separate rooms- it was there that the same employee offering $25 to have a quick room magically again provided the party of 3 who was originally sharing a room with 2 additional rooms so that they were separate. When we heard this, we confronted the staff at the desk asking where our room is when clearly there was rooms available. They proceeded to say they no longer have a room for us but they would "figure something out". At this point we had waited our 5 hours after flying all morning, only to find out our potential room was basically given away and there wasn't a room for us anymore. Obviously we were frustrated with the staff as we wondered if this wouldn't have happened if we would've paid the extra $25USD.. which should NOT be allowed to "buy" other rooms who are clearly waiting. Eventually they "found" us a room but again, we had to wait for housekeeping to "speed up" the cleaning process.. when there should have been a room ready and with our name on it by the time check in started. When we received the room our door could open without our key- you literally just had to push it and it would open without the key being activated. I have a 1 year old son, staying in a country we don't live in (from Canada) and the safety was not there in the room. When we told the front desk about it- they wrote our room number down wrong and did not fix it right away. We actually had another guest accidentally walk into our room that evening simply by opening the door himself. This provided a very unsafe environment for my child and family. When we ever return to Orlando we will unfortunately not be staying here as all the negative circumstances had led to a bad experience for us. Luckily our room the remaining 2 nights after were okay- as we didn't have a choice in finding another hotel so last minute that could accommodate us. Country inn- be better and do not let your staff bribe families into paying extra to have a...
Read moreI really was not happy with my stay here. I booked it for my boyfriend's graduation weekend. However, right off the bat, when we arrived at our designated check-in time, we were told that the machine was down and it would be at least an hour until they were able to check us in, but we were allowed to use the pool if we wanted. Well, his graduation was in an hour and a half, so that wasn't going to work. I said this to the man in charge and his response was "these things always happen at the worst time, don't they?" No offer to give us a room to change it, no offer to change in the bathrooms, nothing. My boyfriend and I then decided to just change in the bathroom and I would do my makeup in the car. When we left the bathroom, the same man told us they were doing check in "the old fashion way." Which meant waiting behind the 5 other parties that had arrived before us to check into their own rooms. My boyfriend asked how long it would take and the man shrugged. We left and returned around 5 hours later to check in. We asked if they could give us a discount since this was a major inconvenience (we chose this hotel so we could get ready here and they couldn't so much as offer us a place to change? We even had to go search for the bathrooms on our own). They said no because we booked through a third party, but offered to give us extra "Radisson points." We said okay, no problem, we understood. They also told us they'd "waive our deposit" as if I wasn't already spending $80 a night that I'd already been charged for, but ok. However, we got to our assigned room and the room was absolutely disgusting. Like no one had made it up after the last guests were there. Masks on the floor, sheets on the bed were completely undone (and stained), etc. It was disgusting to walk into after a long day. We went downstairs, told them that this was unacceptable (especially in the age of COVID), and he apologized and gave us a new room. The last major problem we had was the following morning, around 9:30/10AM we were getting ready to do things for the day and the person who cleans the room just walked in. Didn't knock, didn't say who they were, NOTHING. Luckily I was in the restroom, but it's my hotel room â I shouldn't have to worry about uninvited guests just walking in. They also did not have a "Do Not Disturb" sign for the door, so it's not like I was being unreasonable in assuming he would knock. Two other minor nit-picky things to mention: the elevators were slow and I'm fairly certain only one was working. Also, the Free Wi-Fi was super slow. I wouldn't say it's the worst stay I've ever had at a hotel â once we got to the right room it was clean and spacious â but I would probably not recommend this hotel to anyone. Not worth the hassle,...
